April deadliest month for U.S. troops in Iraq since September.

April deadliest month for U.S. troops in Iraq since September.»

The AP reports:

At least 44 American soldiers have been killed in Iraq in April, making it the deadliest month for U.S. forces since September.

The U.S. military said three soldiers were killed in eastern Baghdad by indirect fire, a reference to mortars or rockets. The statement did not give an exact location for the attack, but the Shiite stronghold of Sadr City has been the scene of intense fighting recently with Shiite militiamen.

A fourth U.S. soldier was killed by a shell in western Baghdad, the military said.

Atrios notes: “But they can stay there until people stop shooting at them so that there will come a time when they can stay there without people shooting at them.”

This is a continuous loop tragedy, farce and indictable offense.

quick, someone get Sadr a U.S taxpayer funded “aid package” like all the rest of the thugs running the iraqi government get, and maybe the surge will start working again..

No wonder this whole illegal invasion and oocupation is a complete clusterfu(k ; you stupidly believe the other side isn’t “aiming” at something or someone intentionally ?

They fight like someone playing the lottery , where you hope it’ll happen to land on your choice(s) ?

Cue the coward-trolls saying this is progress.

The sad thing is that most Americans no longer care, or at least seem to. This isn’t anywhere in the MSM and that can only help the senile old coot McCain.

  5. Erroll Says:

Bring ‘em back, out of Iraq, before more of them wind up in VA hospitals across this country maimed and crippled, severely burned, blinded, brain damaged, paralyzed, missing their limbs, and suffering from the effects of PTSD, all because of some amorphous and indefensible lost cause.

That is very true that casualties were very low in October, November, December, 1007 and January, February and March, 2008. It is also true that casualties in April 2008 are less than half of what they were in April 2007. Any American soldier casualty is a tragic loss, but we must not let their sacrifices be wasted by cutting and running before the job is done.

Why don’t you cut and run into traffic and take your pathetic GOP slogans and go Fukc off. 44 more dead Americans for a lie you scum sucking cretin.

How many more VIP welcomes do Iranianian heads of state have to get before our job in Iraq is done?

How did the democratic choice of the people of palestine set with you? Is that the kind of result our troops should die for?

U.S. casualties bottomed out. The increase is a trend. Look for another “surge” before the Chimperror is gone.

And continuing to stay in the middle of another country’s civil war accomplishes what you sniveling coward, besides getting more US troops killed and maimed. You are a moron.

What the fcuk do you care? You’d rather piss on a homeless pan-handler (most likely a veteran) while blindly handing billions of dollars to a bunch of criminals.

Dad’s video of run-down barracks sparks military response

Good old Republican style “supportin’ the troops”.

(CNN) — The U.S. military is promising action to address conditions in a barracks at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, after a soldier’s father posted images on YouTube showing a building that he said “should be condemned.”

“This is embarrassing. It’s disgusting. It makes me mad as hell,” Ed Frawley said of the building where his son, Sgt. Jeff Frawley, had to live upon his return this month from a 15-month deployment to Afghanistan.

Frawley said Monday that Army Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Dick Cody called him to say he shares Frawley’s anger and that “there’s no excuse.” Cody said he would not want his own sons or any troops to return to such conditions, Frawley said.

It’s presumptiveness (as well as stupidity ; 2 things you posses in over-abundance) , that is responsible for us being in Iraq to begin with.

I don’t purport to know what will happen ; now , why do GOP/Chimpy leg humpers keep insisting that you and they do , when your 0-for-7-year record attests otherwise ?

You are exactly like your imbecilic hero in the Oval Office ; refusing to admit to any error or mistake .

I dunno, could we use Kosovo as an example ?
Could we use the proposed reasoning for intervening in Sudan as an example ?

    No , we cannot.

Our illegal invasion and subsequent occupation were not the causes behind Kosovo’s and the Sudan’s unrest , jackass……….

Maybe we could get a commitment from all the presidential candidates to commit to not intervening in the Sudan on the grounds that you’re not going to drop US troops into Africa to confront muslim militias without drawing aQ and terrorist attacks there either.

Comparing Kosovo to Iraq, jeebus you are truly a dim bulb. Kosovo, half the people wanted us there, no one in Iraq wants us there. Kosovo we had NATO support, Iraq is now pretty much us. Kosovo has different terrain, is much smaller in size and population. To compare the two proves you are a knuckle dragging moron.

It is almost unbelievable the most horrendously exhausting nightmare these last 7 1/2 years have been. BushCo. hijacked this great nation into the most painful ride to hell with no end in sight. How can this be? Who would have guessed? Just like the planes hijacked on 9/11, Bush has hijacked this nation. He stole America from us americans. Took off, stole our privacy, our civil rights, tore the Constitution to shreds, devalued dollar, failed costly war, not to mention the SOARING gas prices at the pump!

Let’s face it folks, this idiot took each and everyone of us to the cleaners, ripped us off royally!

  23. Freedom Rebel Says:

American commanders are particularly focused on trying to curb a rise in mortar and rocket attacks on the Green Zone.

The more they try to fortify the Green Zone the worse the attacks are.

It will never get any better no matter how long we stay. Too many Iraqi’s hate us and will not stop the bloodshed until we are off their land.

We shouldn’t even try to have an Embassy in Iraq. It is just a further reminder of how many lives have been lost and how many families have been destoyed.

My deepest sympathies to the families of the Forty-Four US Soldiers.

How We’ll Know When We’ve Won

Speaking of Iraq, I guess you’ve seen Fredrick Kagan’s recent article in The Weekly Standard. It’s hard to imagine that he could write,

“Virtually everyone who wants to win this war agrees: Success will have been achieved when Iraq is a stable, representative state that controls its own territory, is oriented toward the West, and is an ally in the struggle against militant Islamism, whether Sunni or Shia.”

We invaded Iraq to make friends…

But believe me we will PAY!

#7, How many deferrals have you gotten, by my reckoning the surge(escalation) is not working and it is time to bring our troops home and put America back together and rebuild Iraq from here with the money we owe them for destroying it.NO more WARMONGERING from the White house!!!!!!!!

Ookaay!!…I can see your point. It kinda like you have your house,… and a group of people from another town, like, come in and take over. And, they, like, almost destroy everything. I, too, wouldn’t want them to leave until they, like,… finished the job.
