On April 20, The New York Times first reported on the Pentagon’s secret program using retired military analysts to “generate favorable news coverage of the administration’s wartime performance.” Until today, however, the three presidential candidates have all been largely silent on the issue. The Nation’s Ari Melber has now received statements from both Sens. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Barack Obama (D-IL) condemning the program. Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) response? Silence.
And when he is finally pressed by the MSM press on it, and he gives a noncommittal, vague, mumbled response, they’ll thank him profusely and ask him to pass the BBQ sauce.
April 28th, 2008 at 4:09 pmSen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) response? Silence.
- – Why? Because much like his meals these days, the feeble John McCain has to be spoon-fed everything.
April 28th, 2008 at 4:16 pmSPIN-COM: Keep beating this drum!
This is the most brazen act of propaganda ever perpetrated on American citizens. The media will resist covering it because to do so will indict themselves. But we have to keep pushing it.
News Corpse, The Internet’s Chronicle Of Media Decay.
April 28th, 2008 at 4:18 pmSilence from McSame? It reminds me of his voting record in the Senate – fewer votes than a stricken Senator who missed six months rehabbing from his brain injury.
April 28th, 2008 at 4:19 pmBecause he likes the idea of Reichwing of Terror Insane McCaine Bush III.
April 28th, 2008 at 4:20 pmI think he’s forgotten he’s running for President.
April 28th, 2008 at 4:25 pmMcLame does not consider such propaganda as a bad thing: “We are at war. In war it’s important to win the hearts and minds of the enemy. I have met the enemy, and it is us.”
April 28th, 2008 at 4:26 pmANOTHER senior moment?
April 28th, 2008 at 4:26 pmI doubt McCain would ever respond to something in The Nation. Too bad no one else will ever ask him.

Actually , isn’t silence a better option than actually having to listen to McStupid ?
What’s he going to say , anyway ?
I mean , outside of “My Friends” 30 – 40 times………….
April 28th, 2008 at 4:32 pmMcCain is part of the Pentagon propaganda
April 28th, 2008 at 4:33 pmSilent?
Sure he isn’t just f***ing dead?
Someone check for a pulse on the old codger – STAT!
April 28th, 2008 at 4:36 pmUpdate: Free Press has launched a campaign here asking Congress to investigate the Pentagon’s pundits.
I am sure there will be a fresh round of nasty letters now…..

It would be interesting to hear what McFlip says.
April 28th, 2008 at 4:43 pmThen a couple hours later, to hear what McFlop has to say.
Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) response? Silence.

His puppeteers must be on lunch break…
April 28th, 2008 at 4:47 pmBut which is worse: a) putting moles in the press pool so that they will parrot your position -or- b) turning your generals testifying (lying?) before Congress to giving biased and politically targeted reports ?????
April 28th, 2008 at 4:50 pm#16 topgun Says:
This program did not break the law. they just suspended it until further investigation. Toilet Paper loves to jump the gun on everything before all the fact are out. Especially when it might be perceived by uninformed & ignorant people to be one way when in reality it’s the total opposite. Thats why the Program was created because of sites like this and news outlets that distort the truth and only report portions of a story to fit their political ideology.
If you really believe that; than you do not have all the facts to make an informed decision. Name calling is never necessary. We don’t distort facts but bring the truth to light.
April 28th, 2008 at 4:59 pmIsn’t Top Gun a film riddled with gay overtones? I have no problem with that but me thinks topgun might want to know so as to start work on the next incarnation
April 28th, 2008 at 5:07 pmHe’s just trying to recall whether he’s for it or against it; either/or/both.
April 28th, 2008 at 5:08 pmHmmm. I don’t recall anyone claiming that having former and current military officers prepped to go on public media, posing as ‘independent’ unbiased subject matter experts, while no disclaimer of said prepping to catapult the administration’s line was against the law.
April 28th, 2008 at 5:33 pmMcCain isn’t far off from calling Iraq the newest “colony” to the United States. Bet the service men and women love his zest for unending conflict.
April 28th, 2008 at 7:01 pmMcCain is also silent on Rush Limbaugh’s remarks “wishing” for a riot at the Denver Democratic Convention this summer.

Yes it is. There is actually a law against it. I heard it mentioned, but can’t recall. If anyone can get this info, it’ll be greatly appreciated.
April 29th, 2008 at 2:02 pmOf course McCain is silent. He needed them to help him push the war against Iran.
