Last month, Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly attacked Bill Moyers on his TV show, calling him “a charlatan who epitomizes the left-wing media in this country and doesn’t even pay his employees’ health insurance.” But last night, O’Reilly ate his words and issued a correction:
First, one correction. A few days ago I said that Bill Moyers does not pay health insurance for some of his employees. The Moyers people say that is not true, and at this point, I believe them. I regret the error. We’re not fans of Mr. Moyers, but he does deserve to be treated fairly.
Watch it:
O’Reilly claimed he made his mistake only “a few days ago.” But, in fact, his false attack against Moyers occurred over a month ago.

Is it any wonder that this man’s shining example of journalistic integrity has earned him the prestigious Peabody Award?
April 29th, 2008 at 7:10 pmO’Reilly and other “conservatives” (Bush and Rove has turned that brand to shite) need Rev. Wright and Bill Moyers and other straw man arguments because they can’t spend a whole hour each evening propping up Mr. 28% and his failed policies.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:20 pmO’Reilly claimed he made his mistake only “a few days ago.” But, in fact, his false attack against Moyers occurred over a month ago.
- - O’Reilly attacked Moyers over the Rev. Wright flap a few days ago. Bill-O can’t keep his enmities straight.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:23 pmTarget and assassinate O’Reilly professionally. Every legitimate and semi-legitimate tactic should be used. Hound him where he lives, hound him where he eats, hound him where he works. Use the same tactics that pro-lifers use to drive abortion doctors out of business.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:24 pm“And, at this point, I believe them.”
But tomorrow you’ll call them liars?
April 29th, 2008 at 7:28 pmBillo’s days are numbered. It’s really gonna suck when he’s not even relevant to the 20%’ers.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:30 pmsweetjesusihatebilloreilly!
April 29th, 2008 at 7:34 pmWasn’t he supposed to eat his words and offer a big apology if it was found that Iraq didn’t have WMD?
Still waiting for that apology there O’Lielly.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:43 pmO’Reiley: “Better Hate than Never”
April 29th, 2008 at 7:45 pmReason # 22 Zillion why I don’t watch hate TV, or listen to hate radio. I don’t hate O’Liely, but I agree he is “THE WORSE PERSON IN THE WORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRLD”…LOL.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:52 pmHey Billo, let us know when you get something right. THAT will be news.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:54 pmIsn’t Hillary Clinton going on his show tomorrow? Shouldn’t Democrats look at this as her fraternizing with the enemy.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:56 pm“O’Reilly claimed he made his mistake only “a few days ago.” But, in fact, his false attack against Moyers occurred over a month ago.”
That sounds a little desperate. It seems like this is the closest to the truth he’s ever gotten and you’re haggling over whether four weeks counts as a few days? I don’t think we should congratulate him, but yo might want to let this one go and pick some more meaty battles. With O’Reilly there is a limitless supply.
Otherwise though, thanks for the post. It’s nice to see him eat crow for once, how ever disingenuous his apology was.
April 29th, 2008 at 8:00 pmShayne, I guess if she thinks that Obama can “take Fox News on” then she can “take one O’Lielly”
April 29th, 2008 at 8:01 pmO’Falafel can’t even issue a generic retraction without lying. Lies layered upon lies — it’s what the right-wing has always been good at.
Just saying . . .
April 29th, 2008 at 8:02 pm*one=on. Oy, what a long day.
April 29th, 2008 at 8:02 pmJeannie See — I think you had it right the first time. ;)
April 29th, 2008 at 8:05 pmBillo likes tearing at anyone who doesn’t believe in his “one conservativism world” march steps. You’re allowed to disagree with him on up to three points and/or you have to be on the company payroll to be relevant to him. Billo is allowed to talk-up, back track and disassemble anything he wants, just as long as he doesn’t have to come face-to-face with any of his “talking points”…unless they pay for his grilled cheese sandwich, chips, dill pickle and lemonade lunch. Then if you’ll buy him the DVD set of Hee-Haw, he’ll be your best friend forever and have a producer at the ready for whatever dirty tricks you want done. BTW…the Hee-Haw girls have restraining orders on Billo even at their ages now! So, basically Billo is a dirty and lonely guy who likes smut and is a very angry person because the world he hates, hates him much more. And that he has tons of money, but he even haggles when he buys a packet of stamps.
April 29th, 2008 at 8:10 pmWell Jeannie, when they cut her mike off she may have second thoughts.
April 29th, 2008 at 8:34 pm*flagged* off-topic
April 29th, 2008 at 8:57 pmThankfully there is a Bill Moyers! Who cares about Bill “I went to a poor private school” “No Spin” Spinmaster O’Reilly!
April 29th, 2008 at 9:13 pmHi VA Voter!
April 29th, 2008 at 9:15 pmSo about that Fair Tax? Oops this seems to be about that clown O’Reilly. For pure silliness I still prefer Stern or maybe Opus and Andy. Anyway, I’ll always get the tip as you seem a little bit of a tight wad what with the constant whining about money and all
I thought you antiAmerican types were all about not paying taxes. Too stupid to even make up your minds.
April 29th, 2008 at 9:28 pmFalafel boy says Moyers “doesn’t even pay his employees’ health insurance ”
April 29th, 2008 at 9:32 pmKind of ironic coming from a guy who had pay millions to settle a sexual harassment suit from one of his employees.
Man I bet that hurt! For Bill it has taken weeks to build up to this one.
He probably whined and sniveled before the show aired about making a retraction to someone he dislikes so much.
That’s the difference between a real journalist and tabloid programs. Real Journalists check out all the facts first before they make accusations.
April 29th, 2008 at 9:32 pmUgh. Now my dad’s going to say, “See? Bill O’Reilly corrects his mistakes right on the air!”
April 29th, 2008 at 9:45 pmZooey Says:
Ugh. Now my dad’s going to say, “See? Bill O’Reilly corrects his mistakes right on the air!”
He would need a full hour after his regular show to do a complete job.
April 29th, 2008 at 9:57 pmdlet,
Try telling that to my dad.
**eyes rolling**
April 29th, 2008 at 9:58 pm#26 Zooey Says:
Ugh. Now my dad’s going to say, “See? Bill O’Reilly corrects his mistakes right on the air!”
In my case, it’s my Father-in-law that worships this man. Zooey I have tried everything to enlighten him. I understand completely, I feel your pain….
April 29th, 2008 at 10:18 pmApril 29th, 2008 at 11:16 pm
O’Racist is wrong on daily basis and has never been on the right side of any issue. He’ll need to spend the next 20 years on air to correct all of his mistakes.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:17 pmVoice_of_Reason Says:
See? Bill O’Reilly corrects his mistakes right on the air!
Now that’s integrity.
April 29th, 2008 at 10:26 pm
Don’t add your stupid shit to my quotes.
I guess you’ll be writing him, urging him to correct all the other incorrect things he’s said — like the Malmedy story, which he actually repeated after it was pointed out that he had the whole thing wrong.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:45 pmVoice_of_Reason Says:
See? Bill O’Reilly corrects his mistakes right on the air! Now that’s integrity.
(BTW: O’Reilly previously made this correction on his radio show).
1 out a thousand isn’t a very good average, and a month later, at that! What a loser (those who watch him as well).
April 29th, 2008 at 11:56 pmIt deserves repeating.
Bill Zero’Reilly has no right to question the character of ANY patriot. He’s a traitor of the worst kind. Parsing libel at $100.00 per lie and feeding hate for free.
April 30th, 2008 at 2:15 amOlbermann offers retractions and apologizes right quick for any infractions made on or off his watch. Keith doesn’t play the “drag your feet” game when he knows his show is in the wrong. But Billo has to be the spoiled brat/drama queen of the news channels. He has to be prodded into doing what should be the right thing, because it would shame him otherwise. And he can’t have that because his precious “ratings” might take another hit.
If he’d put his ego to the side, stuff the slanted right-wing journalism and can the sensationalist filler, maybe he wouldn’t have to use the trusty “liberal media bias” to explain why his show is a utter piece of super-spun opinionated dog crap. Morton Downey Jr. is paging you, Bill…he’s going to be your roomie in Hell.
April 30th, 2008 at 3:15 amReilly’s just lies whatever comes into his head, and then apologizes for it only if he has to.
