Subcontractor cuts ties to Blackwater.

Subcontractor cuts ties to Blackwater.

The owner of a California shooting range who trained military personnel for Blackwater Worldwide said yesterday that “he will no longer work with the North Carolina company because of the notoriety of the government contractor.” Marc Halcon, owner of American Shooting Center, has been a Blackwater subcontractor since 2002, but now says he is “tired of being dragged into this thing” and no longer wants to be “associated with what he said was Blackwater’s questionable business practices.”

Blackwater now has reason to be bitter towards this small town.

  2. Crusty Old Bastard Says:

What subcontractor did they (Blackwater), Halliburton, and KBR use to teach their goons how to rape their female co-workers? What auditing firm did they (collectively above)use to teach their accountants how to steal the Government blind? The answer: BUSHCO!

  3. Crusty Old Bastard Says:

What is his complaint? He is the one that taught them to shoot. He should have been teaching them at what to shoot.

    Money trumps morals.

Why'd this guy suddenly "wimp" out?

Probably made enough from no-bid contract love to retire already.

Does this mean Chaney's consultant check from Blackwater will be reduced?

'Blackwater is planning to open an indoor training center for Navy personnel this summer in a 61,600-square-foot warehouse in Otay Mesa.'

Why is the military being privatized? That's what I want to know.

Why can't our military build their OWN training center? Why outsource the task? Where do they train now? Why pay an outside company, who is primarily interested in profit? Where have the Navy been training all along? I must be missing something.

Pillage, Rape and Plunder.....I'm guessing that they are only interested in Pillage and Plunder.

  8. Shayne Says:

Translation, Blackwater hasn't been paying me on time if a Democrat gets the presidency and they owe me a bunch of money I'll never see it.

    #6,

    Mary,

If this is a serious question and you really feel like you "missed something" I've gotta ask, have you been under a rock? This is the Republic666an playbook, privatization is the goal so your well placed friends get to reap the rewards of funneling tax dollars to non-competitive companies. This really shifted into high gear with the installation of the current regime and was orchestrated long ago through the PNAC, or Project For A New American Century which was produced by the fascist arm of the political right, if one can slice the political right that finely, it suggested that into the future, from a 90's perspective, war should be privatized. Guess who it suggested would be the best contractor for the job...well Halliburton of course.

This is no different than de-regulation which is sold as supposedly increasing competition which is supposed to be good for America but really it just strips out any oversight so the crooks can have their way.

Privatization and de-regulation, two equally corrupt concepts, and man has it been making them money!

    Surely you know this right?

rocks911 - well I hope you feel better after getting that off your chest? There's certainly no need to get snotty about it.

I was trying to bring up the bigger issue rather than use this thread to just bash Blackwater some more. But you knew that, right?

  12. rocks911 Says:

Bigger issue? More than organized crime by our government, I can't imagine what that would be.

Another question is who is Southwest Law Enforcement? Why are they on the design plan? I can't find anything on them. I did find out, however, that the Raven Development Group is a subsidiary of the Blackwater USA family of businesses.

I agree with you, why would we pay that kind of money out when we are certainly capable of doing it ourselves. Saving the taxpayers alot of money....

That's quite a moral stand -- tired of being dragged into "this thing" because of their notoriety.

  15. Bluestocking Says:

One thing can be said for him -- at least he finally woke up and started smelling the coffee instead of drinking the Kool-Aid. It's a pity that he didn't do this sooner -- he's effectively locking the barn door only after most of the cattle have already been rustled and turned into ground round...

And for Mary who wonders what reason there could be for privatizing the military...if you haven't already, I might suggest that you dip into Naomi Wolf's recent book "The End of America: Letters to a Young Patriot." As a result of studying how people like Hitler and Stalin and Mussolini succeeded in rising to power in the 20th Century, Ms. Wolf has identified ten societal trends which seem to be common to nearly any government which is in the process of shifting towards totalitarianism -- and she puts forth a convincing argument suggesting that most if not all of these ten trends are either already here or are well under way in the United States. One of these societal trends is the creation of a paramilitary force which not only does not answer to the people but which eventually becomes one of the mechanisms through which the people are oppressed. It is Ms. Wolf's belief that Blackwater has a distinct potential to become just that -- and I think she's right. I wouldn't go so far as to say that this has already happened -- but I think the potential is definitely there.

  17. Ms_Joanne Says:

At what point are people going to not only question the privatization of our military but our water supply?

That bit of privatization will kill those who don't have money to pay for the most basic of sustenance. Many countries now have a populace who cannot afford food. How long before that becomes rampant here?

Can't afford corporatized food? Can't afford corporatized water?

    You. Die.

  18. bs Says:

o....please...just when what....shit was going to hit the fan and you all were going to take a hit to the o'l gut. convictions, morals, values and just plain o decency didn't keep ya from raking in millions of dollars of treasonous bloody money. complete fricken joke. now let's see if he throws the american folks under the bus or tells all...
