They believe that they are a privileged people not bound by the normal rules that bind the rest of us. They do not believe in democracy. They believe in an aristocracy. You will not deter the Republican attempt to create a system based upon cronyism and privilege for a few until you put them down for once and all. The people believe that this is just normal politics because there are no serious consequences for these actions. Nixon was given a break, Iran Contra did not bring disgrace or consequences and we have seen what has happened during this administration. Since that time it has all been downhill. The average person doesn't see this as a big deal. Not with all of the other crimes being committed by this administration on a daily basis.
