I get you arguement that Afghanistan is just and Iraq is unjust.

But, there have been 3 threads here in the last three days about bad news in Afghanistan.

What do you do about it? What’s the point of the threads?

Do you continue to support the effort in Afghanistan, when our soldiers and innocent civilians are being killed? Is it worth it? Do you think we will succeed there?

Do you realize you still didn’t answer whether you would stay or leave?

The difference between the countries, Iraq and Afghanistan – is the same difference between a “just,” and an “unjust” war. Can you wrap your well-intentioned mind around that?

How about this:

Do you think we should stay in Afghanistan or should we pull out?

I think it’s possible that the video wasn’t a fraud, but the reason the sites were willing to pull the video was that timing the videos release with less than 4 days until the Indiana primary, was dirty.

I think the video was legitimate, but the timing was suspect. Maybe both camps agreed to shelve it until after Indiana.

No, it’s an issue not worth discussing with you.

I call it being McCained….this is what will happen to him if, by some miracle of stupidity or election stealing, he becomes president.

When bad things happen in Iraq, the answer seems to be clear. Get out.

I’m not asking a hypothetical. We’re there. Bad things, similar to those happening in Iraq, are happening in Afghanistan. What do you suggest we do. (Again, it’s not me bringing it up, it’s Thinkprogress).

It’s a legitimate question. Do you press ahead in Afghanistan, with the understanding that those who die in Afghanistan are an acceptable loss, due to the importance of what we are trying to accomplish. Or, do you consider the threat of those in the region or the idea of retaliation against those responsible for 9/11, not worth American soldiers (or innocent civilians) dying for, and elect to withdrawl.

It’s not a hypothetical. It’s not entertainment. The problems are real and have been raised, not by me, but by TP.

The important part starts around 4 mins in. And the quote is at 4.40, you can decide for yourself what he says. It sounds pretty damning to me.

My take on Palfrey? She made millions, no? Those in charge have put her in what is basically a witness protection situation where they offered her her money back to go away. No foul, no harm. That would be the only way her mother would buy into it (if, in fact, all of that is true).

I do not see this woman killing herself. But I don’t, for one second, think the government officials would hesitate to kill her.

And that is, yet another reason, why I fear for Obama’s life. He is a major threat to the people who have it all and want more; EVERYTHING in our treasury and that which we can borrow.

I’ve also heard a lot of posters who claim to know about things like this say that it is really uncommon for women to hang themselves. Yet not only did Palfrey apparently do it but also another “alleged purveyor of prostitution”, a former employee of Palfrey, called Brandy Britton in Jan. 07.

Mary, It just seemed odd that EVERYONE pushed it as a suicide when there was no real investigation or autopsy. I figure she will be swept under the rug and most people will say “but she was just a whore”.

I had not heard of that until you mentioned it and I googled it. Creepy. Just because I’m incredibly paranoid doesnt mean its not distinctly possible that all or at least some of these things I suspect and surmise arent true.

Doesn’t sound like someone contemplating suicide? She also let it be known that she might be “suicided” and that when it happened not to fall for it.

‘The contents of the suicide notes have not been made public. Also, police found Palfrey’s journal. It, too, remains confidential.’

Wonder what the chances are of that journal ever being seen?
