Four marines killed by roadside bomb in Anbar.»

The military reported today that a roadside bomb attack in Anbar Province killed four marines on Friday in “one of the deadliest” attacks in months on American troops in the province. Though violence has dropped in Anbar in the past year, “recently there have been several suicide bombings and other attacks.”

    Dick Cheney says, “So.”

I’m pretty sure that at some point within McCain’s 100 Year Fish & Goose Soiree in Iraq, this sort of thing will stop. Then again…

This is really sad for these men’s family and loved ones. They died for no good reason and in the end nothing good will come of the deaths of the thousands that have died. Look what the end result of Viet Nam was. A bunch of our guys died, we didn’t learn any lessons from it or at least Bush didn’t. Oh, I forgot he’s a coward and avoided serving in Nam, so how could he learn anything from it. He was too busy draft dodging and getting high off coke and drinking his brain cells away.

sad as it can be, Casey Casanova was one of these Marines, she was from McComb, MS - everyone knew her, was 22-years old. A waste !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Dick Cheney says “So”.

McCancer sez we can’t leave til the killing stops, after which we can stay 100 years. The Iraqis (regardless of faction) will not stop killing USers as long as there are USers around to kill–quote understandably. They’re the ewoks, and we’re the Imperial Storm-troopers, you know, by now of course. Nobody sobbed when an Imperial Storm Trooper ate that tree, did they?

So there are going to be USer fatalities there as long as there are USers carrying guns and shooting people there, in any capacity, civilian or military. It’s THEIR country. If we invade, occupy, and try to run the place, they have a irrevocable human right to kill us for our temerity. As long as USere troops/guards are in there shooting and killing Iraqis, they’re not gonna stop trying to kill us.

That is, as much as I can make out, the whole and unvarnished truth of the matter.

The president is asking for another $70-billion-plus to continue both wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s time to tell the president, “No.” Tell him to order the troops back home because we are not going to pay one more red cent for this bloody, pointless, illegal war.

  7. flavorino Says:

Yeah, blame Cheney, blame Bush, but the bottom line is the American people don’t care enough to do anything about it.
They are more interested in American Idol and Britney Spears buying Cheetos at the 7-11.

The ultimate responsibility and guilt lie with the American people.

Of course we bear the responsibility, not any guilt, (guilt is of no concern here,) for electing the neocons in 2004. Not so in 2000 which set up 2004. We the people are not responsible for the lies, deception and dereliction of duty that BushCo has done. That is their responsibility and they should be held accountable. There are times, and unfortunately this is one of them, when correction is necessary, and that takes time in our political system. The people are now aware, and the correction will take place this November.

January 20, 2009! The end of an error.

Four more….. the shame and the disgust swamping the powers at large is meager and irrelevant in the context of imperial power, endless war, and feeble leaders who fail to comprehend the glory of life.

In April 2008 the number of American soldiers killed in Iraq was identical to April 2005. The best that can be said about Iraq is that we continue to spin our wheels with no end in sight, not withstanding the surge. How tragic it would be to replace a stubborn idiot with a stubborn old fool. Fortunately, the latest CBS/NYT poll shows both Clinton and Obama with double digit leads over the stumbling McCain that wants to expell Russia from the G8 and renew the Cold War. As somebody who was on active duty in October 1962 I know a little something about the Cold War.

Shayne #1 ~ I was going to say exactly that, thanks for covering for me.

“They died for no good reason…”

But they died for a thousand bad reasons. Like the American destruction of Fallujah (Anbar province) in 2004

  14. Doc Rock Says:

Ironic that Bush wants another $70 billion and that’s about what it is estimated that Iraq is keeping cold in banks abroad while the US is paying the freight for Iraqi infrastructure improvements. The Iraqi’s are not invested in their welfare sufficiently and the American people have never been involved in this war and occupation–bring back the draft and let the burdens of war and peace fall equally on all races, classes, and beneficiaries of this country.

I watched some H.Clinton interview. Among other topics, it concerned Iran and Al-Sadr.

Former Gen. Sanchez has written a book about Iraq. He’s not too kind to Bush&Co.

  17. Kay Says:

4 More die for Bush lies and greed.

  18. darlineishere Says:

flavorino # 7…..I agree with you totally.

Here in Tulsa, OK, there was no mention of these 4 marines killed on Friday (on the telly and if it was in my Tulsa Whirled, it was so well hidden I could not find it)!

And could the lack of information from the media be part of the reason for the public lack of “caring from the American people”?

  19. Kay Says:

    #18 :
one of the characteristics of a Fascist Government is when the Gov’t manipulates the Media. This control is not by accident.

  20. John Kerry Says:

Heads up for the GREAT news! Always good to know that our patriotic libs are very concerned about our soldiers!! Looking forward to you all cutting and running in Nov IF any of your two very weak and cowardly candidates are elected!!

  21. Jackie Says:

If our soldiers aren’t killed in the middle of the Iraq Civil War then KBR will kill them when taking a shower. Yes we pay billions of dollars to contractors who use cheap material and do poor work. Now the Pentagon says our troops died in combat, what combat is there taking a shower and the wires are poorly done and you get electrocuted. Where’s the enemy the wire or KBR? Everyday soldiers are killed but not in combat. But just as long as the draft isn’t open Americans will turn away and look at American Idol. Now if Britney has a melt down Americans are all over it, but if our soldiers die who really cares. Our Law Makers are to busy stealing and making deals to even run the country less care about our troops. Boner Boy keeps his 10,000 kick backs for his hair, nail, clothes and tan while the people of his State are on food stamps and welfare. McCain has done nothing for Arizona since he lost his memory. Obama demanded Illinois drop the State sale tax to help with the high price of gas while he was a State Legislator but now says don’t do drop the Oil Company tax to help all Americans as the price of gas here in California is 4.70 per gallon. Obama is ready to replace Bush as he shows he to is in the back pocket of the big Oil Company. Obama knows how to make those millions as President while acting like he’s on the side of the people. Obama might be richer then Cindy McCain in the first year of his Presidency by the deals he’s making. Mrs. Obama wears the pants in the family and showed it as he pushed back her husband in the interview with Meredith. Yes Mrs. Obama should be the one running for President as she smacked down her husband and took over like a true strong South Side Sister.
