Just be ready for these guys to go Scalia on them. You know, Scalia drew the difference of mistreatment (cruel and unusual treatment) and torture.

I suspect they will try to make the case that waterboarding is a technique of persuassion and not torture. Defining torture as bamboo shoots under the finger nails and disfiguremented bodies from breaking bones and the “rack”.

Therefore be prepared for President Bush to act on V.P. Cheney’s orders (I mean advice) to use his Presidential powers ordering them not to testify for reasons of Presidential privacy. I’m not sure if I remember what privacy is, do you?

You may not like what I’m about to say but I think it’s true.

This gives David Addington a boner.

He is getting the constitutional showdown he’s been wanking to in his dreams since the early 70’s.

He wants to shove their face in it….and he just might, too.

If I am ever given a subpoena I wonder if the authorities will let me negotiate the rules of questioning before I agree to appear in court. Doubtful. But then, I’m a lowly peasant in our great American caste system.

This is nothing more than a sham. The Democrats are so weak they wouldn’t dare try to enforce the subpoena against Addington. They are doing this for show and that all. I’m the most partisan Democrat on the planet, but I see this for what it is. They Democratic party is made up of whimps mostly who care about the same things we complain about, but never do anything about. There hasn’t been a tough Democrat in Congress since Dan Rostenkoski, D-Ill, who got sent to jail for bribery.

The other tough Democrat was Tipp O’Neal, my campaign and hero who is sorely missed and under appreciated in the history of our party. The average Democratic member of congress today is afraid of his/her own shadow and bought and paid for by special interest lobbists. That is exactly why we don’t get anything of substance don’t with our party in the majority. The Republicans threaten to use the so called “nuclear” option on several occasions to break a 60-40 log jam. That’s because 60 votes are needed to do anything in the Senate. The Democrats have failed to use this threat to stop the war and they haven’t completely shut the Republicans out on most of not all votes. In other words they are afraid to run over the Republicans the same way they ran over them with they (Republicans) had power.

What is required is some persuation from voters to do what is right instead of taking lobbist money and voting against our interest. This is what voters don’t understand when they vote for Hillary Clinton over Sen. Obama. She is an insidered who takes money from lobbist to change her vote or vote a certain way. If she got elected we’d have gridlock and nothing would get done. Why? When you are bought and paid for by lobbist, they aren’t going to allow her to change things or get off the gravy train. How do you think they made 20 millions dollars last year and 109 million since Bill left office? It’s because the lobbist they know got them sweetheart deals on everything they did. Think about it, how many people do you know who made 20 million dollars last year without working for it?

somebody tell me please what there is to ‘negotiate.’

subpoenae work like this: you get a legally binding order requiring you to be somewhere, at some time, to tell what you know about some matter. there’s no ‘negotiation’ involved. You get a subpoena, you show up. if you don’t, they issue a warrant for your satchel-ass, and haul you in as a perp when they catch you. none of these guys should be that hard to find. Negotiate this, Tenant!!!
