McCain ‘confused about where he was’ during judicial philosophy speech.

During his speech on judicial philosophy today, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) appeared to have what Fox News’s Brit Hume would likely describe as a “senior moment.” In his prepared remarks, McCain intended to thank “the students and faculty of Wake Forest University” for their hospitality. But as the AP reports, when he delivered the speech, “he appeared confused about where he was for a moment“:

He appeared confused about where he was for a moment Tuesday, saying, “I appreciate the hospitality of the students and faculty of West Virginia,” then correcting himself to say Wake Forest as the audience laughed.

Wake Forest University is located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Digg It!

Gramps McSame says – I was in Florida once, we had ice cream, it used to be made from canned corn, but now they have balloons, big red ones, then we would drive to the park and eat hot dogs, hot dogs weren’t really dogs at all, they were cats in my day….now where am I again? Oh West Florida, it’s a nice place to have polar bears.

Good gosh, the half-himmers is really setting in Gramps, time to take a nap.

Jesus, all we need is another Ronnie Raygun with Alzenheimers as President type of moment.

Won’t matter, Tweety & Tim Russert will still be McSame’s fluffer any day of the week (if they could only remember what day it was).

  11. ralph the wonder llama says:

OT, but.. anymouse, can you explain why Rush would have thought the Mayor of Los Angeles was a “shoe shine guy”?

Can’t be your previous explanation, that he was referring to the incident with the Secret Service, because that incident hadn’t happened yet. Wouldn’t happen for another year.

    Care to explain? Thanks.

  12. raynman says:

I’m sure it can happen to anyone, especially someone who’s on the campaign trail. And if this was the only case, or one of a handful of cases where this is happened, it would be just of laughing interest.

It’s just that this sort of thing tends to happen with McCain with a disturbing regularity….

  13. McWars says:

Speaking of senior moments, I’ve come across at least 3 fake videos on YouTube of Hillary farting, but not a single one for McCain. He’s the old guy!

  14. oldtree says:

I agree, this is the kind of thing that could happen to anyone.
Only problem that contradicts this logic is that it happens to McBush daily now. It happens that he is confused about who we are fighting, who are allies are, who is against us, who is for us. These are not minor lapses of memory. They show senility.

This shows the disconnect between the MSM and us. Does the MSM think we are stupid and don’t see what is going on. What really bothers me is that these reporters are americian and wouldn’t you think they too would want a man who has all his sences? Hey reporters, it’s your election as well. The more of us who can’t afford cable will enventually tune you out as well which in turn, could lead to job losses in your field as well. SO SMARTEN UP YOU IDIOTS!!!!

  30. TheRadicalRightisRadicallyWrong says:

It does happen with regularity, just yesterday Obama was on the ‘today show” being interviewed by Matt Lauer and Lauer started the questioning by referring to something that Tim Russert asked the day before on Meet The Press so Obama started calling Matt, Tim. He did it several times before Lauer corrected him. It was awkward to watch.

But it is much funnier when McInsane does it. Senile old coot that he is.

  31. Kay says:

The ‘ol senile, war-monger doesn’t even know where he is.

  32. Bobwurst says:

This reminds me of the good old days, when Reagan would have the Marine Corp Band play “Alelwiess” for visiting dignitaries of Austria because he thought that was the Austrian National Anthem. or when he “joked” into an open mike that the bombing of Moscow would start if 5 minutes…That one was a real knee slapper. Just think of the blooper reel mccoot will be able to put together if he’s elected. Of course he’ll need a secret service guard with him 24/7 to keep him from wandering off whitehouse grounds in his presidental bathrobe and getting lost.

  35. tokin librul says:

Ropnald Raygun proved you didn’t have to be even apparently compos mentos to get elected and ruin the fuuuking country. McStain is the GOPuke amalgam of Raygun and John Wayne, with the exception that he actually killed people. this alone, imho, guarantees his installation (note, i didn’t say ‘election,’ because nobody with two neurons to rub together can unskeptically accept the result of ANY USer process from which the Pukes emerge the apparent winers.

  36. A Patriot Acting says:

I envision the first debate of the General Elections. Mr. Obama asks McCain a tough question that his handlers haven’t prepared him for. The follow up question is even more difficult and McCain, having been unchallenged by the media thus far is getting upset at the audacity of this man asking questions about actual policy and substance. Trying his best to not show that infamous anger of his and struggling to jog his addled brain for an answer he inadvertantly pisses himself on national television. He then proceeds to do some kind of crazy dance ala Aslee Simpson on Saturday Night Live when caught mid lip-synch and screams to cut for commercial. Now that would be poetic justice, my friends.

Come on, guys! How soon we forget Ronnie and Dumbass both served 2 terms as president.
    S-I-M-P-L-E-T-O-N-S!
This country relates to them and McLame is from the same republican mold that produced Raygun and Dumbass. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this idiot is our next president. It’s the American way! This country would vote an ape into office if it ran on a campaign of fear and no taxes.
    Oh wait! It already did!

on what planet is that debate gonna occur? surely not earth. mcstain’s handlers will NEVAH permit such an open-format debate. Neither, i suspect, would Obama or Hillary…though they might propose it jsut so it could get shot down…

  40. Kay says:

Have we dumbed down that much that this is the quality of person running for the President of the United States.

    Even Nixon had a brain.

  41. TheRadicalRightisRadicallyWrong says:

Bobwurst, Take a pill. I’ve got 2 Obama signs in my front yard. It was awkward because it was the type of BS tape that gets used to slime a candidate. It was obvious that Obama was tired and even more so of the same stoopid question yet again referring to the Rev. Wright. He heard Lauer say “Tim” and he got stuck on it. Since Tim had asked the question the day before and Lauer invoked Russert’s name as he asked the same question again.

I’m saying it’s easy to see how it can happen considering the nutty schedules that Both Clinton and Obama are keeping.

What’s hard to believe is that it doesn’t happen more often, all things considered. However, in McInsane’s case, it’s hard to imagine how he can keep anything straight the way he changes his position every 10 seconds.

What’s even more annoying is nonsense stories like this one wasting our time when the Dems are about to cave on war funding AGAIN and on FISA AGAIN and the MSM has a complete black out on the Pentagon Puppet story as well as the story that this administration Authorized TORTURE!

I’m sick and tired of this campaign already. And I’m sick and tired of what appears to be frivolous stories occupying the news cycle when there are Many more important things to address!

  42. tokin librul says:

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this idiot is our next president. It’s the American way!

if i was giving odds, i’d say he was about a 4/5 favorite…for the very reasons you cite, plus nobody ever lost an eletion by overestimating the capacity for murkin voters to flinch away from tough choices in the privacy of the booth…plus there’s the established, flawlessly functioning election thievery machinery of the GOP to consider, too.

imho, it’s like this: if the oligarchs and plutocrats want to forever damage and silence the ‘minorities’ which constitute the core constituency of the DIM party, they’ll permit BHO or HRC to be elected. Either one will be a one-termer, because the size, complexity, thoroughness, and extremity of the Busheviki fiascoes left behind, and the minefields, agents, and other factors planted over these 8 years, will militate fatally against any effort by a Dim to reverse them. So, by 2012 they will be finally and eternally labelled as failures and losers, and a NEW WHITE GOP MALE–Jebbie?–will step in and finish the job.
Or: they’ll just skip all the intermediaries and install the WHITE MALE GOPuke McStain to just administer the coup de grace now, in the clear expectation that he’s basically a dead man walking, and his VP will step up…

  43. Shayne says:

Alzheimers WORKS for Republicans. Look how it got Reagan and GHWB off the hook for Iran Contra when Ronnie got to answer “I can’t remember.” over 100 times and people believed he didn’t remember. Wonder want the GHW Bush and friends evil cabal has planned next that they need a president who won’t be able to testify.

For the last 30 years it does seem the candidates are on a path of de-evolution ( except Obama is very intellegent and make coherent sentences ). A few more election cycles with this trend and we will have the choice between the Republican potted cactus vs the Democratic potted marigolds for president.

We’re all sick of the coverage, my friend. But here comes a dose of straight talk, until the msm starts taking this seriously there will only be flimsy superficial coverage of one side of the election, and you know which side will have their relgious connections picked at, their tips at diners critiqued, their family values questioned, etc. Pretended to rise above the fray will only help the repubs, ask Kerry.

Heard a young fella recently, after watching his dad stumble on a memory, describe it as “A McCain moment.”

Not a senior moment, but “a McCain moment”

“McCain moment” as a coined-phrase is very versatile, could be used in response to a temper tantrum, a flip-flop, or an awkward lie.

Or a dumb statement like “100 years.”

The vernacular of street politics and it’s ongoing evolution never ceases to amuse me.
