Plame asks court to resurrect lawsuit against Bush administration in CIA leak case.»

Outed CIA operative Valerie Plame “is trying to resurrect a lawsuit against those in the Bush administration she says illegally disclosed her identity.” While a federal judge dismissed Plame’s case last year, her “lawyers asked a federal appeals court Friday to send the case back before the judge and force him to consider its merits.”

WTG, Valerie! Don’t let this one die.

  2. Ms_Joanne Says:

I think it’s unlikely that anything will come of this in today’s political climate. We are seeing very slow shifts in the right direction but they seem glacial at best.

And with Bush’s executive order to keep all of his records from the public forever, it is unlikely that we will ever know a fraction of what this administration has done against US.

I hope Ms. Plame continues her fight. For the whole debacle of disclosing not just her but the entire operation surrounding her last covert efforts has made this country significantly less safe.

And this from the Republican-Daddys-Take-Care-Of-You-Best government. Sibel Edmonds anyone?

  3. Freedom Rebel Says:

What they did to Valerie Plame amounts to treason. She served her country in it’s best interest for 20 years. They can’t make that claim.

  4. MCMetal Says:

John D. Bates was appointed United States District Judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia by President George W. Bush in December 2001.

How in the hell is a Chimpy appointee allowed to preside over a case filed against various administration members ?

Isn’t that a blatant conflict of interest ?

  5. McWars Says:

Impeach that mutant John D. Bates. What a f ucking tool.

No, MCMETAL, remember they serve at “the pleasure” of chimmpy…and he is a pleased monkey. Bush/co is like Officer Barbrady: “Move along, nothing to see here.”

  7. Shayne Says:

Ms. Plame should be running for congress.

  8. Buckie Boy Says:

State Secrets, executive privilege, national security…quick, think of another Bushit excuse to avoid exposure for Bush and Cheney’s crimes against America.

Will the State Propaganda News Networks pickup on this? Not a chance.

  9. octamethyl Says:

no justice, no peace. i’m not convinced bush can be held personally responsible, as he is little more than an ass-puppet of the big brained, big budget neocons. Still, it might restore our standing in the world to have him personally tried and executed for his administration’s crimes against humanity.

    That’s immaterial.

No matter who serves at the pleasure of the Pretzeldent , conflict of interest issues require recusing oneself…….

Guess “strict Constitutionlist” GOP judges are so tremendous , they’re immune to any temptation to any type of partisanship and chicanery……….

Let me sort of amend what i said, bush, cheney, rove, addington should already be in jail for this crime.

Let’s see if their any honest Judges left as most are getting kick backs from the White House. With no Justice System in place and a corrupt Attorney General and Deputy this might be a problem. Most Judges who get kick backs for favors don’t put it in the publics face. But this guys really don’t care who knows their corrupt. The Siegleman and Palfrey case showed that. Now even a College Professor has exposed the Judicial Corruption of the Bush appointed Judges. As for the Supreme Court Appointees their just doing as the GOP tells them and asking for more money while pocketing their shares of the oil profit. I don’t see Justice coming back to the US until we get a new President. We are not the example for any country to follow as we are getting worse the the most Third World countries and even Burma,

  13. Freedom Rebel Says:

The Bush Administration questions the American Citizens about their patroitism. Where was their patroitism when they outed Valerie Plame? Missing in Action. Karl Rove should be jailed for what he did.

Valerie Plame devoted 20 years of her life protecting us and they belittled her. What has Bush ever done to protect America, except for pretending to be a president?

It may not happen in the direct fashion we would like, but there is no denying that the slow drip-drip of scandal is gaining lots of momentum. The public is slowly waking up to what the Bush administration really stands for - party loyalty and the rape of our tresury.

At some point, this case will be heard. Perhaps after January 20,2009. If it does get in front of a court, that may be the time that land in Paraguay comes in handy for the Chimp and his minions.
Valerie and Joe are REAL American heroes. I thank them for their service to our country.

  21. A Patriot Acting Says:

Valerie Plame would probably be better off waiting until January ‘09 to try to take these SOB’s to court. After Shrub’s flying monkies are relegated to serving at nobody’s leisure and adults are back running the courts in this Country.

If the upcoming election is as disastrous for the Republicriminals as predicted, we will see them turn on each other. A few might try to finesse a “we were doing fine until the Dems won in 06″ argument, but, by and large I think they will “eat their young” in an effort to rebrand the party. Most of those efforts will be geared to a resurgence in 2012.

But heck, I wouldn’t be surprised to see McCain, and others, try to disown Bush (at least on even days) in the general election. Anyone who doesn’t run away from his 71% disapproval rating is an idiot. But, they are probably still doomed.

If enough of the truth gets to American voters the Bushites, and their enablers, are toast. It is entirely possible that it will take a new generation to restore significance to the GOP. And the only way they’ll ever accomplish it is by trashing Bushco.

Waging aggressive war. High crimes and misdemeanors. Use of proscribed weapons on civilian populations. Violation of international accords regarding the treatment of prisoners. Crimes against Humanity.

I guess the Plame case does take on a certain insignificance. But it does serve as a sterling example of Bushco’s willingness to personally attack people, to the detriment of national security, for political motives.

And blowing the cover of a covert operation that watches Iran, among others, is a “non-story”. Who needs intelligence that conflicts with the agenda? Heck! Why not just hire Tom Clancy to write the propaganda/press releases which will surely lead to World Domination?

Klem, use the Google thingy. You’ll have to work a little bit harder because the Google doesn’t put truthful stories about republicans on the first few pages. You’ll have to search.

Hmmmmm…Pelosi is the third most powerful person in Washington, and yet she hasn’t brought impeachment proceedings for anything Bush and Co. have allegedly done concerning the Plame story. They have the house and senate don’t they? Why is that? Clinton got impeached for lying to congress. Bush should be impeached if the Plame story is true. Shut up , you Chimpy nut hugging moron.

    Yes, Valerie Plame Was Covert
    By Kevin Drum

    May 29, 2007

YES, VALERIE PLAME WAS COVERT….In a court filing today, Patrick Fitzgerald provides a summary of Valerie Plame Wilson’s status with the CIA’s Counterproliferation Division at the time she was outed to the press by members of the Bush administration. Guess what? She was covert:
While assigned to CPD, Ms. Wilson engaged in temporary duty (TDY) travel overseas on official business. She traveled at least seven times to more than ten countries. When traveling overseas, Ms. Wilson always traveled under a cover identity — sometimes in true name and sometimes in alias — but always using cover — whether official or non-official cover (NOC) — with no ostensible relationship to the CIA.

At the time of the initial unauthorized disclosure in the media of Ms. Wilson’s employment relationship with the CIA on 14 July 2003, Ms. Wilson was a covert employee for whom the CIA was taking affirmative measures to conceal her intelligence relationship to the United States.

Please point out where I implicitly said that Libby outed Plame , you fu(king nitwit.

    I did not.

Libby was indicted on one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of making false statements when interviewed by agents of the FBI, and two counts of perjury in his testimony before the grand jury ; On March 6, 2007, the jury convicted him on four of the five counts but acquitted him on count three, the second charge of making false statements when interviewed by federal agents about his conversations with Time reporter Matthew Cooper .

You really need reading and comprehension classes , and to re-think calling someone a “moron” when you lie for the worst president in US history and try to make claims that someone did not make……..Moron.

Because half of Washington already knew who she was. When the story first broke it was “Gotcha Bush!!”. Then, when the press started digging into who knew what about Plame, they realized that a lot of regular people in Washinton knew who she was anyway. The story should have died there. The Nail Bush crowd got caught up in this story. That would be you MC.

    You state above-

Because the act itself is treason , but it could not be proven conclusively on who committed it ; that explain it to you yet , Valerie Plame wasn’t covert liar ?

McMetal, don’t waste the effort. Besides, the troll really just wasn’t to provoke you for the attention he can’t get elsewhere in its life.

  48. pete Says:

Jeepers. They get denser every day. Even Fox pundits know why impeachment is “off the table”. The reason being that the Dems don’t have the numbers to make it stick and Reps can be counted on to close ranks, like they have on most legislation, regardless of evidence. George Bush could eat the head of a baby on the White House lawn and the Republicriminals would vote against impeachment. This is made clear in innumerable public, and private, words and actions.

The Democratic party (Nancy P. etc.)seems to believe that an unsuccessful impeachment would prove more damaging than inaction. While many don’t share that thought, the logic is pretty obvious. Given the fickle nature of voters I can’t blame them for caution though their actions may make them complicit. In fairness, I don’t think anyone believed how much more damage Bushco could do and now they’re trying to ride it out.

    Prytania,
How about naming some of the “everyone in Washington Circle knew Plame was in the CIA!”

Why ? What would these names tell you that you haven’t already been told ?
Plame’s identity and job wasn’t outed by Rove. It also wasn’t in response to his Niger yellowcake article. Who outed her, when and how has been confirmed by all parties involved as well as Fitzgerald.

Woodward: Well it was Joe Wilson who was sent by the agency, isn’t it?
Armitage: His wife works for the agency.
Woodward: Why doesn’t that come out? Why does that have to be a big secret?
    Armitage: (over) Everybody knows it.
    Woodward: Everyone knows?
Armitage: Yeah. And they know ’cause Joe Wilson’s been calling everybody.
He’s pissed off ’cause he was designated as a low level guy went out to look at it. So he’s all pissed off.

That was in June 2003. Wilson’s article came out the following month.
She got outed when Armitage complained to Woodward about how everyone knew Plame was CIA because Joe Wilson was calling everyone telling them this when trying to shop his Niger Yellowcake story to reporters.

This tells you something. The only unknown is whether you’re honest enough to admit that it does. I’m betting on not.
