Instead of the Dems complaining of the tactics
the repubs are using, they need to employ their
own tactics and stop this bullshit. It seems that
the Dems are always being snookered. Are we that
bad at understanding procedural maneuvering or
are the repubs that good. I hope it is not the
latter, but we had better bone up on our
legislative skills I'm a thinkin. The big problem
is that when the Dem get the Presidency, the repub
are going to fight us every day and we are going to
have be very good to counter it. Until Fox news
and what it represents, becomes a minor player, we
Dems are going to end up slogging through the shit
pile until we can go around it. And the best way
to do that is through legislative skills.

Why should there be any COMPROMISE on educating our returning Vets? This just proves that the stupid neo-clowns care more about political games than they do about our Vets,Firefighters,Police, ect.

No MC, you haven’t. You haven’t pointed out anything but your juvenile ignorance. Do you object to the adoption of a Single Issue Rule? If so, why?

May 14th, 2008 at 6:02 pm

Why don't you start by explaining to this "juvenile" (and everyone else here) , how exactly bi-partisan bills and even attachments , are the same as the parliamentary maneuvering that was demonstrated by Mitch McChinless and Graham Cracker .

If you cannot , you really need to stop posting your habitual lying and hysterically stupid claims of "coming though" ; because you aren't doing the GOP any good at all.

I dont think that congress, either side, wants to give up any of its parliamentary tools......political footballs are part of the game. Ever see that game 'Worms' where they have all these tools, a turn-based system, to destroy each other?

Thats what congress reminds me of.

I didn’t texaslady. If you will simply READ above, you will see that I have repeatedly stated that both sides use this procedural tactic, I provided examples of both sides using it repeatedly in the past, and I object to it. My proposal is for a Single Issue Rule so that neither side may use this tactic in the future. I know that will be hard on Kennedy to eliminate one of his favorite parliamentary tools, but it must apply universally.

To recap: I disagree with this procedural tactic. Both parties use it (see above), and Sen. Kennedy is one of its most frequent employers, although he object to it today when it is used against him. Both sides should stop this by enacting some sort of Single Issue rule. I know that such rules are not easy to draft or enforce, but is has been done in State Legislatures.

The attachment of the Medicaid bill to the war appropriations legislation could help with passage in the Senate, where the "bill has become tied up" because of filibusters by Republicans

That’s it. I’m done providing examples, unless DJMetal wants more. What say you DJ? Have you had enough yet?

Another what , anonymoron ?

You haven't provided anything outside of not understanding the nature of the tactic being discussed on this particular thread.

The "examples" you claim to have provided are either from a different decade (thus a different century) , bi-partisan in nature , or are bills that were just recently introduced into a Democratic majority Congress ; thus eliminating them all from the parliamentary maneuvering you originally claimed.

You are feeble minded lying speck of crap...........

Upside 99
Never once did anyone I know in uniform during Vietnam, experience a derogatory action. I am so sorry you did.

However, I am hearing many things about the Iraq vets that make me sick, they should know what they are getting into, they are looking for paid tuition, or the worst they are hoping for a minor wound for a lifetime disability check.

Because it is a volunteer military, there is less responsibility felt for the lies that took us into this war.
The vets I know are feeling very forgotten.

McMetal. Does that mean that you want more examples? Well, o.k. since you asked:

“Two union-backed outsourcing measures added to Senate Defense bill.” June 15, 2004. The amendment, by the way, was proposed by Senator Kennedy.

No

I want 1 ; you have provided NOTHING as of yet.

The above is another laughable and stupid attempt by you , to smear the Dems , and more specifically , Kennedy.

Legislation to give civil servants new rights to challenge government outsourcing decisions inched closer to law Monday when the Senate attached it to the fiscal 2005 Defense authorization bill.
The legislation, sponsored by Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Carl Levin, D-Mich., would let federal workers appeal the outcome of public-private job competitions to the General Accounting Office - -a right currently enjoyed only by contractors.
In separate action, the Senate added an amendment from Sens. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., and Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., to the Defense bill that would make it easier for the Pentagon to shift work from contractors back to government employees.

It was BI-PARTISAN in all areas , you colossal dipshit.

The Republicans have become experts at cutting off their own noses to spite their faces.

They're losing seats, presumably because their base is starting to catch on to the fact that they don't give a damn about the people, and will do anything and everything they can to get their way. Even if it means cheating.

Now they're not even trying to hide it.

Of course, if the Democrats ever tried to do something like this, the Republicans would be screaming bloody murder.
