barfly. I like Obama on about half the issues. And I think it’s inevitable that Democrats will pick up seats in the Congress. For those reasons, a won’t lament Democrat victories. But, I will be curious if they follow through with the impeachments, because there would (or should) be no excuse not too. If they don’t, it should be taken as a signal, that all the rhetoric was false pandering – with no substance behind it.

BTW, I’ll also be curious, how many of Bush’s policies Obama would reverse. It’s one thing to call for the troops to come home. It’s another to actually bring them home and leave a power vacuum. A vacuum that would ingnite a greater genocide that many would hold him responsible for.

But, from the post, you should get how I feel about bigotry and racism. And that I’m not shy about calling out republicans for either. If it were me, I’d just concede the point. But, that doesn’t seem to happen around here much.

I am actually hoping for an Obama victory and more of a substantial Democratic majority in the Congress. If that happens, any failure to act beyond ‘09 will only mean one thing; there was no substance behind the charges.

So, democrats currently don’t have the votes to push impeachment, and you think they should go ahead anyway?

That’s not what I’m talking about. The “republican” modifier meant you haven’t condemned the institutional racism that republicans routinely show to blacks. Try dealing with that, before criticizing what one racist did.

Bluestocking. It’s possible all this grandstanding (arresting Rove and Impeaching Bush and Cheney) is merely rhetoric to appease left wing radicals.

If the charges had substance behind them, Conyers (and Democrats in general) would be acting. It would be their obligation and responsibility. And it would be politically expedient.

This issue is, however, making me glad Obama is running and competitive.
