Lieberman On Bush Comparing Democrats To Nazi-Appeasers: ‘The President Got It Exactly Right’

Delivering an address before the Israeli Knesset today, President Bush said that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) and Democrats favor a policy of appeasement toward terrorists.

Obama quickly responding, criticizing Bush for using the “60th anniversary of Israel’s independence to launch a false political attack.” As MSNBC reported, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT), a strong supporter of Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), has also now issued a statement, saying that he wholeheartedly agrees with Bush’s comments:

President Bush got it exactly right today when he warned about the threat of Iran and its terrorist proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah. It is imperative that we reject the flawed and naïve thinking that denies or dismisses the words of extremists and terrorists when they shout “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,” and that holds that — if only we were to sit down and negotiate with these killers — they would cease to threaten us. It is critical to our national security that our commander-in-chief is able to distinguish between America’s friends and America’s enemies, and not confuse the two.

In an interview with MSNBC, Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) sharply criticized both Bush and Lieberman, saying that the President should apologize to the public for politicizing the 60th anniversary of Israel:

What an irony to have the current president in Israel blasting Democrats from the Knessett when his policies have actually seen al Qaeda get strengthened. They have seen al Qaeda be reconstituted. They have seen al Qaeda get stronger, Hamas get stronger, Israel more threatened, Iran is stronger, and Iraq is in chaos.

This is a disgraceful statement by the President. It really is. He ought to apologize to the American people for going to Israel and using the Knesset and the celebration of the 60 anniversary of a state and a people that we all support and that we’re all proud of, and using it for politics.

Kerry also noted that if Bush is saying that he is against talks with Iran, then he should “come home and call for the resignation of his own cabinet, because the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense have both favored negotiations with Iran.”

UpdateBrian Katulis explains the three ways in which Bush's comments are disconnected from his own policies.

  1. McWars Says:

Predictably, Liebewitz (Independently stupid-CT) is the first right out of the bat to open his reich-wing yap.

You keep hiding behind the curtain of our party, you Nazi garbage.

  2. Wayne Says:

Just when is Reid going to strip this fake Democrat of all his committee assignments? Lie-man should just go ahead and switch parties, since he is definitely no longer a Democrat.

  3. progressive homeschooler Says:

Can't wait for a majority after November, so we can formally and publicly disown Joe.

  4. Exit Stage Left Says:

I look forward to the day the Dem leadership shows his lying, traitorous ass to the door. What an irrelevant little man he will be by this time next year.

  5. McWars Says:

The reich wing is afraid, very afraid. The desperate campaign begins today, full-speed, coinciding with Edwards' endorsement of Obama making it all but official his candidacy. Hillary's departure is a mere formality at this point.

The propaganda begins, and the greatest of progressive intellectual fighters are being called to the battlefield.

You're going to wish it 2004, reich nuts.

  6. carsam Says:

Who are people going to believe? Bush and his criminal cronies who have been lying about everything and been wrong about everything for the last eight years? Or Obama who has been very specific about his policies?

  7. lokidog Says:

Why is Bush (and his gutless supporters) so frightened to sit down and, eye to eye, discuss reality with those we have disagreements with?

We look like the biggest pussies in the world - that is, after everyone is done laughing and pointing at us.

  8. Shayne Says:

The people of Connecticut need to do something about their Senator.

  9. singe_101 Says:

Lieberman got it exactly wrong today when he warned about the threat of the GOP and its terrorist proxies like KBR and Blackwater. It is imperative that we reject the flawed and naïve thinking that denies or dismisses the words of right-wing extremists and domestic terrorists when they shout “Death to Iran” and “Death to Islam,” and that holds that — if only we were to sit down and negotiate with these killers — they would cease to threaten us. It is critical to our national security that our commander-in-chief is removed from office to face fair trial from America’s friends and America’s enemies, and not confuse Americans any more.

Yeah let's threaten violence to counter their threats. WTH?

Excuse me, when has Iran invaded another country? They've got a lot of hate, but as far as I know that doesn't violate any law.

So it's okay when Americans shout "Death to Iran!" or at least that message in different words? Have you heard some of these "preachers?" We seem to be threatening them more than they threaten a nuclear Israel.

    USA! USA!

  10. liberal traitor Says:

I cannot wait until '09 when we have a solid Dem majority with or without Liebercrap. I sincerely hope that when Reid strips him of all his privileges he makes it as memorable and public as it is devastating.

I want to see Joe Lieberman CRY.

  11. jb Says:

Freedoms on the march....usa uber alles....The Nazis I see represent the GOP. The American people are not in the mood to appease them either.

  12. tokin librul Says:

Feckless, useless, worthless, ball-less, hapless Harry's already promised Loserman (I-Judea) he'll keep all his perqs, committee posts, and his Chair. Happened some weeks ago. Mostly unremarked at the time.

    What Reid SHOULD do is:
    1) Remove Holy Joe from all committee posts, including his Chair.
    2) Remove him from the caucus information loop; revoke his password, and seize his fuuking computer.
    3) Refuse to fund his office, other than Constitutionally guaranteed franking privileges (and give him one 13-cent stamp for that).
    4) Move his desk into his Senate Office Building (SOB--one of the most apt abbreviations in all of DC) parking spot, and his parking spot into the fuuking street, with a fuuking meter and a fuuking mean, anti-semitic cop standing by.

  13. texaslady Says:

bush with his cowboy tactics have cost 4078 lives, untold lives of innocent Iraqis, and put this country in financial ruin. And we should continue this failed policy ? All but the dimmest bulbs know when to change.

  14. phred42 Says:

The only possible reason that the Dem 'leadership' [sic] tolerates this clown, AND allows him chairmanship and committee assignments is that they are either cowards or the silent partners of the Reich.

Reid and Pelosi MUST go if we are to save this country.

  15. upside99 Says:

Can't the good people of Connecticut hold a special election to replace their Senator who has now fully become the sole official Congressional representative to the State of Israel?

  16. scytherius Says:

Oh I hope they keep up this moronic attack. This type of idiocy has worked SO well in the 3 special elections so far.

  17. texaslady Says:

Let Liebermann keep spewing his anti-American garbage, more conservatives will be sick of it by November.

  18. Fan of Man Says:

jew LIEberman, the good senator from israel needs to shut the hell up.

    yank his chair reid.

  19. singe_101 Says:

And make no mistake, I really dislike Iran. It is one of those countries with leadership like cancer... however, one does not go after cancer in the body with a freakin' CHAINSAW like it would end up being. More civilian deaths, economic ruin...

Until the military eliminates our unaccountable, state-sponsored militias in Blackwater, et al then weapons will NEVER be the solution (other than for their coffers).

  20. Annie B. Says:

I so look forward to the Nov. 4th election when we can be rid of both Mr. Bush as president and Mr. Lieberman as chairman of an important committee.

The senate democrats should have kicked Lieberman out of his chairmanship months ago when he chose to support the republicans in numerous areas. After the election when we have several more democratic senators we will no longer need Mr. Lieberman's half-hearted support.

  21. liberal traitor Says:

    Tokin,
Reid only said that because the Dems have to placate this a$$hole until after November because if he officially defects to the GOP the Dems lose their very slim majority. Reid's thoughts on Holy Joe have undergone a slight correction of late:

    http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/05/14/liebermans-antics-do-not-go-by-unnoticed-by-dem-leadership/

Enjoy. Hopefully Reid's not full of crap on this one...

aWol's a bully, as are all the rest of the thugs, slugs, and punks with whom he and ultra-bully Darth Cheney have surrounded themselves.

And they'll walk, cuz Murkins--way down deep in their frightfully insecure little hearts--are (or lately at least have become) the world's Super-Bully...

  24. bentley1 Says:

  26. hellinabucket Says:

    Once again, thanks Connecticut.

Thanks to Kerry for the quick retort.

  27. Badmoodman Says:

    Zell Lieberman.

  28. PatrioticLiberalChristian Says:

Only a Democratic President and Democratic majority in Congress will make it feasible to dump Lieberman. Right now, unfortunately, he is still needed to advance other Democratic agenda items. He is going to be an increasing irritant as he supports McCain's campaign, but on January 20, 2009 I would expect that he will be stripped of his leadership positions and set on the curb.

  29. Shayne Says:

I can see bombing Iran as long as we do it with Lieberman as a kamikaze pilot. Hopefully he flies the plane as badly as McCain did when he was in the Navy.

  30. bluestatedon Says:

Nikita Kruschev said "we will bury you" and oversaw the development of Soviet ICBMs, which he later installed in Cuba. Leonid Brezhnev ran the show at a time that Russian-made SAM missiles killed many US Air Force personnel over North Vietnam, and Russian and Chinese military assistance was critical in sustaining both the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. Mao Tse-Tung sent hundreds of thousands of Chinese troops into Korea to help kill thousands of American servicemen in Korea, and routinely threatened the U.S. in public pronouncements.

Considering that Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon all held summit conferences if not extended negotiations with these Communist rulers directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of American soldiers, then by Bush and Lieberman's standards all of them were traitorous appeasers. I would include Reagan in this list, since he held meetings with Gorbachev at a time when thousands of Soviet nuclear warheads were targeted at the U.S.

  31. PatrioticLiberalChristian Says:

    or To Zell with Lieberman?

  32. Keltoi Says:

"Delivering an address before the Israeli Knesset today, President Bush said that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) and Democrats favor a policy of appeasement toward terrorists."

Small problem - he never said Barack Obama or Democrat. CNN inferred this, now it is reported as though he said words he didn't say. Details, details.

  33. texaslady Says:

Iran was not anti-American until bush labeled them part of the axis of evil that is when they allowed Mr. Dinner Jacket in power. So, lets put the blame where it belongs.

  34. JYD Says:

So instead of any kind of talks let's go in to the Middle East and render the region as chaotic as we have made the country of Iraq. After 5 years we have done nothing to make Iraq or the region any safer or more democratic.

  35. Buckie Boy Says:

Me thinks that Lying Joe is kissing someone's butt and trying to weasel in a Vice President slot for himself.

This is going to be just part of their Swiftboating of Obama, next will be the muslim thing, then pointing out that he is Black, not just half white, but all Black and that all Black's hate America. Their lies know no bounds.

  36. alpuz3 Says:

It's only a matter of months before Ole Joe gets that atomic wedgie he deserves. I hope it's Webb who administers it.

I don't think I've actually come across such an arrogant prick in public... ever.

  37. Xisithrus Says:

The Iran-Contra affair was a political scandal which was revealed in 1986 as a result of earlier events during the Reagan administration. It began as an operation to increase U.S.-Iranian relations, wherein Israel would ship weapons to a moderate, politically influential group of Iranians opposed to the Ayatollah Khomeni; the U.S. would reimburse Israel with those weapons and receive payment from Israel. The moderate Iranians agreed to do everything in their power to achieve the release of six U.S. hostages, who were being held by the terrorist group Hezbollah. The plan eventually deteriorated into an arms-for-hostages scheme, in which members of the executive branch sold weapons to Iran in exchange for the release of the American hostages.

    -Wikipedia

I dont know HOW Nazism figures into this, it doesnt as Israel didnt exist at the time, but history shows that the GOP supplied Iran with weapons, and wanted closer ties with, and not the democrats.

So who is the Iranian appeasers? The ones who attack others with their weakness!!

  38. lokidog Says:

Because bullies don’t negotiate. They intimidate.

And ain't it convenient, tl, that when it's time to "ante up" for the bullies actions and words, they're nowhere to be seen, leaving someone else to clean up the mess and pay the price?

    F***ing scumbags.

  39. The Dogfather Says:

Just one more Senate seat this November and we can finally be rid of Lie-bernutjob once and for all. We're doing our part in Virginia -- we're likely going to replace our retiring Sen. John Warner (R-VA) with our former governor and next US Senatory Mark Warner (D-VA). That should do the trick...

And then Lieber-chutzpah can go to Israel and open up an illegal settlement or something...

  40. texaslady Says:

Sitting down with other governments is not appeasement. It is called diplomacy. Doesn't mean give in, it means working together for a common means, like NOT BLOWING UP THE WORLD. Clinton knew how to do it, bush with maniac cheney hasn't a clue. bush has created more hatred toward Americans than ever before. Wake up you 28%ers.

  41. indyjones Says:

I must admit that I felt similarly about Hagel when he came out and was extremely critical of the president. You know: we have elections to win and it does not help when one of our own breaks rank. I don't know what to believe about this Iram-Israel / Isamic Jihad issue. It is so complex and unnerving. I do know that there are groups of people out there that would like nothing more than for the United States (to include you and me and our children) to be completely obliterated. I cannot say I wish the same on them. And these sentiments they hold are deep and did not emerge after Bush was elected. They have been there for a long time and whether the U.S. had mishandled foreign policy or what not, those feelings are still there and will be for a long time. I don't know ...I really don't. I don't know if the Islamic radicals are the modern day equivalent of nazis, nor do I know how big of a threat they really are.

  42. The Shadow Says:

This proves exactly what I have been saying about Lieberman all along. He puts his religion first and country second. For any politician of either party to suggest that these comments were right is just wrong. I'm sorry, but this statement stupid and anyone who supports it must apoligize.

This is a case where the voting rightwingnut's ignorance and stupidity actually is a plus:

You know damn well there will be thousands voting for Mark, thinking it's still John.

Works for me, for VA and for the nation.

  45. sunshineempire Says:

All that's needed is Mark Warner winning election to the Senate and they can kick his tail to the curb. Hope you enjoyed your Chairmanship while it lasted.

  46. ralph the wonder llama Says:

Agreed, Keltoi. CNN's report is false.

You gotta admire Holy Joe's timing, huh? Tie yourself politically to a failed president as he's about to limp off into the sunset, and betray your own party just as it's poised to register its most resounding victory in seventy years.

That's a pile of judgment LIEberman is exhibiting these days.

  47. indyjones Says:

I don't know why Bush isn't smart enough to sit down and engage in diplomatic relations with our enemies. It seems to me that he must like the fact that 3 out of every 4 americans do not like him or the job he is doing. If he had just sat down with other world leaders and let diplomacy run its course, he quite possibly could have gone down as one of the greatest presdients we ever had.

It is much more complicated than that...

  48. PatrioticLiberalChristian Says:

texaslady is right. And might I add that sitting down and talking with the leader of another country gives an opportunity to point blank, with the appropriate verbal and body language, let that leader know that his or her country's actions are unacceptable and not going to be tolerated.

  49. IgnoranceIsNotBliss Says:

HE IS NOT "OUR COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF DAMNIT".

How many here really believe that Bush does not want to find OBL? I can guarantee that he does not enjoy being constantly criticized - who would? 74. backup Says:

Diplomacy is the right avenue most of the time. But, at some point diplomacy doesn't provide any benefit, and only provides legitimacy to those with ill intentions. It helps them.

Think about trying to negotiate with Adolf Hitler. What could you have said to him to get him to alter his plans or views? Nothing. He was intent on what he wanted to do. By trying to negotiate with him, it only made him appear more legitimate and it postponed inevitable confrontations and allowed him more time to gain strenghth. Appeasement was the wrong avenue with Hitler. Whether appeasement is the right avenue with the Iranian president or with Hamas, is debatable, but it's important to consider the ramifications. It's naive to think that negotiation will always work. There should be some consideration as to whether we should be talking with those that promote the extermination of Israel or whether we should staunchly, and unequivocally oppose them.

  75. RUCerious Says:

  78. indyjones Says:

    Are You Serious,

    /snark off

  82. indyjones Says:

    Backup,

Failing to get him and not wanting to get him are two different things. I am curious now as to whether Bush really wanted to get him or, if he had the opportunity to get him, if he would seize the opportunity.

  83. texaslady Says:

Sorry backup but the ground troops were held back at ToraBora even when the Generals were pressing to go in. That allowed OBL to escape.

  84. Xisithrus Says:

Bush, I think, needs to get his priorities in order. It was Al Qaeda that attacked America and he has wandered into Afghanistan and Iraq and now Iran going after people who are not Osama. From What I read Al Qaeda is now in Pakistan, not Iran.

  85. Keltoi Says:

This is from TPs own link:

CNN’s Ed Henry reported that, while “President Bush never uttered the words Barack Obama,” his White House sources tell him it was clearly intended to be a partisan shot:

And this it the top of this thread:

Delivering an address before the Israeli Knesset today, President Bush said that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) and Democrats favor a policy of appeasement toward terrorists.

TP is contradicting itself is all I am saying. Change "said" to "infered" and it would be factually accurate.

  92. Hug The Moon Says:

Lieberman - "they would cease to threaten us."

No one says the threat would cease. How will nothing but bombs cease the threat? Cease?

Diplomacy 101. Lieberman and his like minded just do not understand that you'll get more info over a game of chess or a garden than from the end of a gun or barking dog or naked pyramid or electrocution or water boarding. History shows us this.

  93. ralph the wonder llama Says:

Why do I think Bush doesn't want to get OBL?

Two ways to answer that question. The first is why did I reach that assessment. The answer to that is because, despite all his "gonna git 'em" rhetoric, Bush has done almost nothing to actually pursue bin Laden. And he admitted as much in 2002.

Now, the second way to look at the question is what reasonable explanation could I give for this lack of concern? The answer to that is bin Laden has been far more valuable to Bush as a Boogeyman than he would have been as a captive or a victim.

  94. texaslady Says:

JT just who will be left if every country decides to do as America has done with bush/cheney's agenda ?

Bin Laden was never charged for 911. Are you saying bring him in for Cole and Kenya, etc? He was never charged for 911.

  98. Bilbo Hussein Baggins Says:

    What Reid SHOULD do is:
    1) Remove Holy Joe from all committee posts, including his Chair.
    2) Remove him from the caucus information loop; revoke his password, and seize his fuuking computer.

Number 2 is very important. Right now Lieberman should be considered to be the enemy. So why are we caucusing with the enemy giving him information he can take to the Republicans to be used against the Democrats?

Come on Reid, kick Lieberman to the curb. The only reason why Lieberman has not voluntarily left to become a Republican is that he will be low man on the totem pole in that party and will not have any plum committee assignments like Homeland Security.

  99. nineteen84 Says:

    I have the solution!!!

Let's bomb Iran with Lieberman. We'll strap him to the bottom of a B1, find an unpopulated area and release him at 10,000 feet.

There are 70 million human beings in Iran, Joe. Only reptiles talk the way you do.

Not really sure what your point was, but what I was saying was that Bush said he would get bin Laden "Dead or Alive" but never showed much real enthusiasm for the task. To me, this makes sense if you recognize that Bush, like most authoritarians, likes to have an identifiable villain on whom to project his fears and anxieties. Bin Laden served this purpose very well for Bush. Whether OBL had anything to do with 9/11 or not is immaterial. After all, Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11 and look what happened to him.

    RUCerious,

    easy. let’s stay civil.

    You keep saying this.

  102. Bilbo Hussein Baggins Says:

    indyjones Says:
Another question: how many of you believe in the 9/11 conspiracy theory that 9/11 was coordinated by the Bush administration?

I don't believe that it was coordinated by the Bush Crime Family. I do believe that they knew it was going to happen and they let it happen because they realized what a political gift it would be to the Administration. And that is unforgivable.

  103. texaslady Says:

indy how many more places do you want ? Take some time and go to a near VA hospital talk with the guys who were there. Ask them what they think of lieberman/bush/cheney policy.
Ask them how they felt at 19, 21 to learn to walk again. See if your vote in November is worth another American life.

  104. mary Says:

    Lieberman's words are despicable.

'It is imperative that we reject the flawed and naïve thinking that denies or dismisses the words of extremists and terrorists when they shout “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,” and that holds that — if only we were to sit down and negotiate with these killers — they would cease to threaten us.'

    1) But apparently it's okay for ignorant Americans to yell, "Bomb Iran!" or as they used to say in the 80's "Nuke Iran!"

    2) I very much doubt that most people who favor opening up some kind of dialogue with those who agitate against us think that by doing so it would eliminate ALL threats. We're not that naive. But a lessening of those threats would be good thing, no?

Lieberman falses asserts that it's got to be this or that. It's a 3-D world out there Joe!

  105. texaslady Says:

104 - I agree ! Richard Clark said bush group were too incompetent but too many coincidences came together in one day, and in every crime look who benefits. The famous video of OBL taking credit, was discredited by our FBI.

  106. Hug The Moon Says:

ralph the wonder llama, Nice clarification. I was on a tangaent. An ttempt to Reinforce the point you made that no matter what OBL may or may not have done, it doesn't matter. He is boogeyman du jour.

Really must suck now Russia is no longer feared and we do to much trade with China to paint them. So it has to boil down to 1 guy in a cave. The boogeyman makers laugh their asses off at the many people who give them support. Sad for everyone. Like yelling fire in the theatre of the American Psyche.

  107. indyjones Says:

    Texas Lady,

I know several soldiers who have fought in Iraq, some have even enlisted for additoonal terms. Others do not agree with the war. Not too different from alot of the peopkle i meet who have not fought in Iraq.

  108. christopher wiwi Says:

Why doesn`t he just come out of the closet and say he is a RE-PUKE and get it over with, he just can`t stop his neocon boot-licking of the Reich and his PANDERING to McWars.

  109. Hug The Moon Says:

Would never accuse anyone of anything. The only thing is someone(s) did something. The investigative process we were served is a clear sham riddled with conflict of interest, omitted testimony and testimony without oath, ad infitidum.

Start by looking into the folks at the Pentagon. They have not released the videos of the attack. We could cut to the chase with these videos. The s**t will hit the fan when this happens.

  110. christopher wiwi Says:

Didn`t Ike have a little chit chat with Stalin, didn`t Nixon talk to China and didn`t Reagan sit down with Gorbechov and Dubya sat down with who?????????????
Diplomacy works with everyone but the SHRUB, this chimp is a walking contradiction and not to mention a corrupt SOB!!!

  111. Jackie Says:

Bush has no idea what War Policy is and is just sucking up to Isreal. Now as for Senator Obama's comment on Iran, one can only think of the Scorpion/Turtle. Yes Obama has great ideas but he's not experienced enough to know the game of the players. He is no John Kennedy as Jack knew when to move and when to close. Obama has to understand the Middle East Leaders know more about the United States of America then Americans and the Law Makers. They have studied this country from it's beginnings and watched our former Law Makers for many many years. This isn't a learn of the job position. Now if Obama is elected he might want to let John Kerry be President with Foreign Affairs issues as he's directing him now. Look when all hell breaks loose Obama can always call Hillary Clinton to clean it up as she is best qualified in that area as well as Health Care, Economy and Military. It's always good for a President to have a real President to help. I expect we'll see Bill Clinton back as Bush needed his help. Yes Obama will fall on his face and call the Clinton's to help clean up the mess he made. As we see how Law Makers back stab each other it will be funny to see how many current Obama supporters turn on his when he brings America to it's second Great Depression.

  112. texaslady Says:

Hug - read the story of the 911 widows and what they went through just to get an investigation. How they were treated was dispicable by the White House and a slimy pundit who shall be nameless but has a large, large adams apple.

All government crimes are covered up starting with Pearl Harbor but at least they pretend to look into the crime. bush didn't even try to pretend and then had to take cheney with him and no notes taken and no oath taken. GOOD GRIEF !

  113. Max-1 Says:

    .

The only explaination the Republicans are left as a viable political party in the USA is because the Democrats ARE Nazi appeasers. That makes the Loyal Republicans the Nazis.

Is that what Joe LIARman wants? To be the Nazi to my appeasment?

    .

  114. texaslady Says:

Perhaps the street fighter Edwards will be allowed to help Obama in the learning curve...at least Obama is smart enough to hire good help not just incompetent cronies.

  115. tarazan Says:

It is uncommon for a head of a state visiting another country to inject local politics in his visit to that country to score points...
    It is rare...
I never heard of any foreign leader visiting USA attacks another party in his own country on US soil...it is not a good practice.Bush attacking democrats in another country is rather unusual...
But for people like Lieberman..it is 'ok' as long as we are going to bomb another Arab or Moslem country...
    All rules can broken...

  116. texaslady Says:

lieberman just wants a spot in the limelight any limelight will do. The Dems have shunned him so what is left but McCain.

But Bush and Rape Gurney Joe don't see Israel as "another country". That's the problem. They see it as the 51st state.

  118. Leftside Annie Says:

I've lost count, but you can most definitely add me to the list of people who believe that Chimpy NEVER really wanted to/intended to capture OBL.

Why would he? Osama bin Laden - aside from the Bin Ladens being his family's best business partners - has been the best boogeyman EVER for the Repukes, the source of their power, their path to the presidency and their rationale for the most profitable war ever.

Jebus, that'd be like killing the hen that laid all those golden eggs.

Indy, that was a very stupid question. *eyeroll*

  119. Leftside Annie Says:

And as for that stupid evil old slag LIEberman, I repeat that kicking him square in the nuts is very high on my wish list.

And I have a perfect pair of pointy-toed Tony Lama cowboy boots to wear on that auspicious occasion!

  120. GeeDubs Says:

Two things might happen before November - Osama bin Laden will be found - a bump for the Republicans...or another terrorist attack will take place...which according to Rummy would be what is needed - again, another 'win' for the Republicans. Will it actually change the outcome of the election?

  121. JMOHR Says:

Lieberman should become McCain's Rev. Wright. We must do the following:

    1. Put out both candidates and all senior leaders attacking Bush for his use of the speech to the Kinesit as a violation of protocol that actually threatens the ability of the United States to conduct an effective foreign policy. Also note that not only was it blatantly partisan but also false because the Secretary of State and Secretary of DoD have also noted the necessity of talks with Iran. It is also false because the Bush administration has held direct talks with N. Korea and Lybia. Such transparent lies for political purposes undermines what little credibility that Bush has left with world leaders.

    2. Demand that McCain denounce the statements and the forum in which they were made. Ridicule McCain for poor leadership since he is the presumptive nominee and does not have any leadership authority over those in his own party. Suggest that he may end up like Dole, spokesman for Viagra, a cure for impotence.

    3. Attack McCain for having a close friend and adviser in Lieberman. Attack Lieberman for bringing bitter partisanship into the election and failing to have the policy insight or foreign policy experience to recognize the damage being done by the president making blatant political attacks against a candidate in the US elections before a foreign legislative body. Equate Lieberman and President as the equivalent to Rev. Wright. Note how McBush already has problems with Hagee and other ministers with radical and intemperate positions. Now note that McBush has two more loony tunes: Bush and Lieberman.

  122. Uncle Ho Says:

GeeDubs; Of course it would change the elections, for martial law would be declared by Bushitler(after all, he did say it would be easier in a dictatorship-just as long as he is the dictator).

Martial law declared, elections canceled, Congress suspended, Democrats, liberals, ACLU, dissendents rounded up and put into concentration camps, Bush would just love to emulate his hero, Adolf Hitler.

  125. republicans hate facts Says:

That's really ironic when Joe's conservative friends in Israel herd Palestinians into 'concentration camps'...

  126. Paul W Says:

President Bush got it exactly right today when he warned about the threat of Iran and its terrorist proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah. It is imperative that we reject the flawed and naïve thinking that denies or dismisses the words of extremists and terrorists when they shout “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,”

I guess however, you're a moderate if your in favor of actually killing hundreds-of-thousands of innocent people like we've done in Iraq with Lieberman's full approval.

  127. Squeaky Wheels Says:

It blows my mind that some people think that if we sent some envoys to try to talk to the Iranians, that would cause them to immediately attack us.

  128. BloggerRadio.com Says:

Hey Squeaky Wheels, nice try spin-jockey. I don't think anyone has guaranteed specific results, but rather that it is COWARDS like Bush and Lieberwoman that express their COWARDICE by being AFRAID to even sit down with Int'l bullies. They are both afraid and stupid ... like most GOP Republican'ts.

"Let us never negotiate out of fear, but let us never fear to negotiate."--JFK

  129. Chocolate Jesus Says:

lieberman is unspeakable scum : "It is imperative that we reject the flawed and naïve thinking that denies or dismisses the words of extremists and terrorists when they shout “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,"

how about extremists and terrorist who shout "bomb Iran"?

  130. Heynow Says:

Lieberman would have been one of the jews running the ovens. He would do anything to save his ass. What a slimeball.

  131. ThomasMc Says:

So, what's the problem? The Democrats have been appeasing Nazi Bush for years!
