The media have admitted that they are giving Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) a free ride. Brave New Films has put together a new video, The Real McCain 2, attempting to give an accurate portrayal of McCain and highlighting his inconsistencies on everything from taxes to his feelings on President Bush. Watch it:

Bombin’ John is running on the platform “If you vote for anyone but me, you will be killed in your beds, your children will be enslaved, and brown people will take over your country.” His inconsistencies are irrelevant, as long as he can insist that he, alone, knows how to “protect” Murka. Would anyone be surprised if there came along some event that prioritized that view of the dominant issues of the campaign?
The economy? I still don’t think oil’ll hit $200/bbl, or that gas’ll crack $5/gal until AFTER the next Inauguration. Of course, it will, and sooner than later.
May 18th, 2008 at 3:42 pmregardless of the details, the big picture forming of john mccain is that of someone that either never had, or is in the process of losing his mental faculties. He is clearly not fit to be POTUS. He needs to be in retirement.
May 18th, 2008 at 3:43 pmIt will be almost painful to watch Obama take this poor old man down when the debates begin.
May 18th, 2008 at 3:46 pmOT
May 18th, 2008 at 3:51 pmJust heard the line to get into the Obama rally that starts in 2 hours in Portland OR is now at least 15 blocks long.

May 18th, 2008 at 4:03 pmJeesh. Of course we all knew this. Nice compilation.
May 18th, 2008 at 4:11 pmGrampy McSame says - My friends back in the day we would talk straight, it didn’t matter if you said something else later, it was still straight, not gay at all, like that Obama guy, all polite and stuff, nope, we would go to state fairs, and be gay there, everyone was gay, see I’m happy now, with straight talk, no curses at all…I hope that’s potato salad I just sat in.
Grampy, you can’t remember from one day to the next, take a nap.
May 18th, 2008 at 4:11 pmObama will run circles around McCain who will be embarrassed tht he didn’t retire when he still had his mind and his dignity, and turned his back on Bush.
May 18th, 2008 at 4:17 pm” We create our own reality “- NEOCON and it goes for the U.S. media as well , because facts are not important, nor is reality . There goal is simple , to show john mcSame the military industrial complex representative, in the best possible light and if it requires editing his remarks about ” talking to Iran ” and concentrating on right wing accusations , repeating them over and over , all to protect a neocon that doesn’t have the sense to keep his mouth shut , about keeping the troops in Iraq for 100 years , especially when that was the plan before the invasion .
May 18th, 2008 at 4:18 pmSo, when is the Mainstream Corporate Bought and Sold Sycophantic going to pick up the ball and play this?

May 18th, 2008 at 4:37 pmThe media have admitted that they are giving Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) a free ride.
Which makes plenty of sense , seeing as how viciously and terribly the horseshit GOP has been treated by the MSM for the last few decades …………………
May 18th, 2008 at 4:49 pmYou guys had better quit making fun of how senile McSame is and how he can’t keep things straight anymore.
May 18th, 2008 at 4:52 pmYou’re going to piss the old coot off.
Buckie - it’s pretty clear that the Grampy McSame stories are the bee’s knees.
This should be run as a campaign ad 24X7 for the next six months. Where do I send my contribution to make it so?
May 18th, 2008 at 5:09 pmThe Military-Industrialized Media (aka “MIM”) are clearly hellbent on shoe-horning McCain into the Oval office. But the free ride he’s gotten over the years could be because exposing his background could be deadly.
Investigative journalist Don Bolles died reporting about McCain’s ol’ pals Jim Hensley (Cindy McCain’s dad) and Kemper Marley. Reporting about McCain might be unhealthy, especially knowing what a hothead the rightwing candidate is.
I call him the “Omerta Man”.
(see a picture worth a thousand words here)
Anyway, I’ve been checking out the latest rightwing meme over at the PowerLine message boards. Apparently “Obama’s an Elitist” according to the neocons hellbent on staying in power through the election.
But I’ve got news for Bush sycophants pushing those talking points.
If your spouse is an heiress who thinks she can get by with refusing to make her tax returns public and you’re a candidate for U.S. President, then you may be an elitist.
If you think that Cindy McCain’s tax returns are a privacy right but tapping US citizen’s phones doesn’t invade their privacy rights, then you may be an elitist.
If you’re receiving veterans benefits for having served in the military but vote against others getting benefits, then you may be an elitist.
If you’re getting great government health care as a Senator but vote against underprivileged kids getting it, then you may be an elitist.
If you own half a dozen or so houses and insist on blocking folks from mortgage relief while using tax dollars to bail out banks and mortgage companies who made questionable loans, then you just may be an elitist.
If you and your wife are worth millions and intend to make permanent tax breaks which greatly benefit only the wealthiest, then some might regard you as the elitist candidate.
If your wife has a private jet for you to campaign in while your opponents don’t, then you may be an elitist.
If you were celebrating your birthday with Bush while FEMA victims were drowning during Katrina disaster, then you’re probably an elitist.
If you were once tortured into admitting that you’re a war criminal but now support the torture of others to score political points, then you may be an elitist.
Unless your being tortured leads you to think that it always produces the truth.
That’d make you a war criminal. Which is pretty “elite”, as well, come to think of it!
May 18th, 2008 at 5:33 pmMcCain must have a hard time at restaurants.
“What is that? I didn’t order that, I ordered steak.”
May 18th, 2008 at 5:52 pm“Yes, sir, you did order this. I wrote it down and double-checked. Perhaps you just forgot?”
“Do you know who I am?”
“Yes, one order of lobster with extra butter sauce.”
“Let me speak to your manager!”
“Very well, I’ll send him out in ten minutes. I’m banking you won’t right down your complaint.”
“Plus the bib gives it away, Senator.”

May 18th, 2008 at 6:08 pmConnect the dots….
The background to the awarding of the contract to EADS lies at the very heart of the GOP corruption in Alabama that saw the political prosecution of former Alabama Democratic Governor Don Siegelman. The award of the Air Force contract to EADS-Northrop was the result of high-level collusion between Governor Bob Riley of Alabama, the White House, and John McCain. It also helped that two senior Bush administration officials, Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz and former Vice President Dick Cheney Chief of Staff I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby once served as highly-paid advisers for Northrop Grumman.

May 19th, 2008 at 8:59 amSinge, I hope you don’t mind, but I I have an addition to your post.
McCain must have a hard time at restaurants.
“What is that? I didn’t order that, I ordered steak.”
“Yes, sir, you did order this. I wrote it down and double-checked. Perhaps you just forgot?”
“Do you know who I am?”

“Let me speak to your manager!”
“Very well, I’ll send him out in ten minutes. I’m banking you won’t right down your complaint.”
The manager comes to the table and asks “Was your cheeseburger okay, sir”
May 19th, 2008 at 11:17 am“It was great”
“Fine. I will send your server over with your check”
“Do you know who I am?”
“Yes sir”
“Good, will you please tell me who I am. Then get rid of those men in suits. They have been following me around all day.”
McCain obviously has a consistency problem, but so does Brave New Films. It is inconsistent to tag a compliation with “…but the corporate media won’t cover the story,” when the compilation appears to be constructed entirely from broadcasts, interviews and debates that were originally broadcast and in some cases paid for by corporate media.
If this piece were made up of statements that were acquired independently by the producers or taken from non-corporate sources, the “won’t cover the story” criticism might be valid, but this video is one segment after another each containing the bug of CNN, NBC, FOX, MSNBC, NBC/TODAY, ABC, etc.
If “corporate media” weren’t covering this, Brave New Films would have had no place from which to steal the source video.
May 19th, 2008 at 8:46 pmI don’t know, as far as I’m concerned Brave New Films is guilty of the same cut and paste tactics they threw at Reverend Wright. I’m not a McCain supporter, far from it (Obama ‘08) but I’m not satisfied with biased, crafted media. Lets look at the tax clips as an example, how do we know that those are all referencing the same tax cuts? I know it’s a naive question, and I assume he’s discussing the same tax cuts, but I would just prefer a little more investigative reporting instead of digging for second long clips that can be played against each other to craft a narrative.
