Reacting to this morning’s story in the Jerusalem Post claiming that Bush will attack Iran before the end of his term, White House Press Secretary Dana Perino told reporters that the article “is not worth the paper it’s printed on.”
Reporting shortly after the morning White House gaggle, CNN’s White House correspondent Ed Henry said:
A reporter pointed out to Dana Perino though that we heard these similar denials from the White House in the run-up to the war in Iraq. They insisted that diplomacy was the first option; military option was the last option. And wondering whether this is a replay, Dana Perino says it is not.
Watch it:
In taking on NBC News yesterday and the Jerusalem Post today, Henry said, “There’s a broader fight going on — which is the White House against the media.”
“There’s a broader fight going on — which is the White House against the media.”
It's much broader than that, Mr. Henry.
It's the White House against the AMERICAN PEOPLE.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:06 amHenry said, “There’s a broader fight going on — which is the White House against the media.”
Oh, has the media mentioned impeachment?????
I didn't think so. Some fight, eh?
May 20th, 2008 at 11:08 amHeh. I wouldn't believe anyone in the Bush administration if they told me that my hair was on fire.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:09 amoil above 129, close to 130
May 20th, 2008 at 11:09 amnot necessarily a proof that jews lie
Dana, i believe the broader question here is can we trust someone who doesnt even know what the Cuban Missile Crisis is?
The media is the barometer by which public opinion is judged. If the media is getting fed up with the idiocy of this administration then something must be terribly wrong in America. Yet, Dana Perino comes out all sunshine and lolipops and tells us that President George W. Mass Murderer Bush favours diplomacy? Not enough grains of salt in the world to take those words with..
May 20th, 2008 at 11:09 amIf the White House isdisparaging the Jerusalem Post as a means of denying a story, that's pretty much conclusive proof of its truth.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:12 amNo, it's not worth the paper it's printed on. It's worth way more than that, as the weasels in the Israeli and US governments get caught planning their coup de grace to our nation.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:14 amDid I really see the white house talk about diplomacy? That is funny, sad, ridiculous, and would be worth talking about if anyone in there knew what it meant.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:15 amWhat Perino fails to mention is that the cost of newsprint has been rising dramatically in the past year, due to the decline in the dollar and a drop in worldwide paper supply.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:16 amNo one, and I MEAN NO ONE should believe ANYTHING that comes out of the White House. If someone there stated day is light, and night is dark, EVERYONE should look out their windows.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:16 amWhat about this story from Haaretz, saying that Israel is in contact with Hamas?
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/985012.html
Seems that last week el Shrubbo stood in the Knesset and accused Israel of being like Nazi appeasers.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:17 amThe boy who cried "WOLF"
Wonder why nobody believes anything coming out of this administration?
If these bastards try to go to war with Iran without congressional approval, impeachment better be more than just "back on the table"
PEACE
May 20th, 2008 at 11:17 amSure thing Dana.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:17 amAnd your words are not worth the contaminated air they float on.
I've heard from an extremely good source the same thing: Bushco plans to attack Iran. Unless we can stop them. So how do we do that?
May 20th, 2008 at 11:18 amOh, come now! Even if the story is true (and it most likely is), you surely don't believe that the White House would actually have the integrity to admit it...do you? If you do, I don't know where you've been for most of the past six-odd years -- but I'm inclined to assume that a deserted island or the underside of a rock must have been a prominent feature of your domicile during that time.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:18 amThe Mantra of the Bush Admin over the past 8 years :
1. Obfuscate
May 20th, 2008 at 11:21 am2. Misspeak
3. Lie
4. Repeat 1-3
And BushCo is not worth the toilet paper they use to wipe their backsides - not worth it before or after its used.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:21 am& Dana's words arent worth the fartbreath they float on.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:23 amFrom the Jerusalem Post:

______
Let me see if I can tie these loose ends together.
Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapons program and is thus not pushing for a nuclear weapon, according to the latest NIE. The administration has concerns about Iran's non-existent push for a nuclear weapon. Does this mean that we're going to be using either diplomacy or a bombing campaign to force Iran into building a nuclear weapon so we can then force them to stop building a nuclear weapon using diplomacy or a bombing campaign?
Sheesh. This makes my head hurt. I miss the good old days of the Reagan administration when we just sold Iran the weapons and were done with it.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:31 am"Let me respond by reaffirming the policy of the administration: We, along with our international allies who want peace in the Middle East, remain opposed to Iran's ambitions to obtain a nuclear weapon," Perino said. "To that end, we are working to bring tough diplomatic and economic pressure on the Iranians to get them to change their behavior and to halt their uranium enrichment program."
Perino said the "president of the United States should never take options off the table, but our preference and our actions for dealing with this matter remain through peaceful diplomatic means. Nothing has changed in that regard."
Translation:
"Let me respond by reaffirming the policy of the administration: We, along with our international allies who want to further destabilize in the Middle East, remain opposed to Iran's ambitions to obtain a nuclear weapon," Perino said. "To that end, we are working to bomb the shit out of Iran"
"Let me respond by reaffirming the policy of the administration: We, along with our international allies who want perpetual war in the Middle East, remain opposed to Iran's ambitions to obtain a nuclear weapon," Perino said.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:36 amPerino said the “president of the United States should never take options off the table, but our preference and our actions for dealing with this matter remain through peaceful diplomatic means. Nothing has changed in that regard.”
translation:
Perino said the “president of the United States should never appease Rogue Governments (even though, the US is a bully nation), but our preference and our actions for dealing with this matter remain killing Iranian grandmothers and children Nothing has changed in that regard.”
May 20th, 2008 at 11:44 amI think what everyone is concerned with is the notion of the pre-emptive attack. If we want to start bombing everyone who might have the future capability to develop nuclear weaponry while at the same time is not friendly with the United States, we better start building more bombs.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:44 amGeorge Bush and the Murkin people who stood and cheered when the Chump sent soldiers to conquer and enslave Iraq--you, nettles?--have plenty of blood on their hands to worry about without trying to pin any on the Iranians...
Over 4000 of your children, and countless hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis are dead, thanks to he mindless fux in the GOPNAIPAC...Murkins will stop dying in Iraq when they leave, not until...
May 20th, 2008 at 11:46 am"White House Press Secretary Dana Perino told reporters that the article “is not worth the paper it’s printed on.”'
Isn't this what they said about the Consititution?
May 20th, 2008 at 11:46 amIn taking on NBC News yesterday and the Jerusalem Post today, Henry said, “There’s a broader fight going on — which is the White House against the media.”
Yeah, and anyone who watched Olberman last night knows that the letter written to the media was a bunch of horseshit 'cause there was nothing edited out of the shrub's responses in the interview and there was nothing taken out of context with the speech he gave in Israel.
Man, they really do think we are all a bunch of dumbasses don't they?
May 20th, 2008 at 11:50 amPerino is the "pretty face" that purveys Propaganda to the Press.
(try to repeat that 10 times fast!)
Can't stand this woman.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:51 amMan, they really do think we are all a bunch of dumbasses don’t they?
May 20th, 2008 at 11:50 am
The Chimp is still in power which, one supposes, speaks for itself, viz whether or not Murkins are 'a bunch of dumbasses.' Quod erat demonstratum...
May 20th, 2008 at 11:53 amNettles Says:
Dana Perino is certainly a horse’s ass, but that doesn’t wipe the blood of American soldiers off the hands of the Iranian hierarchy.
Oh really? Where's the proof of this? The US military was going to hold a "show and tell" recently to prove that the Iranians were providing the Iraqi's weapons. Oops...none of the thousands of weapons they had came from Iran so they had to cancel the "show and tell".
Thus far the only "proof" we have that the Iranians have the blood of American soldiers on their hands is the word of our government. We all know how much that is worth. On the other hand, we do have proof positive that the Bush Crime Family has the blood of American soldiers on their hands.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:54 amIt's 3:00 am in the Bush Presidency RISK game.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:57 amWait a minute. Dana is trying to say that diplomacy is the first option. But that contradicts her boss, President Bush who said "Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along." He futher stated that it is a foolish delusion that we have heard before.
President Bush also called it "the false comfort of appeasement". So he changed his mind in just two days? I think most of America would find that very hard to swallow considering his track record. By his methodology eventually he will turn out to be victorious. Even though he keeps making the sames mistakes over and over again.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:57 amInteresting that the leader of the Iraqi people was on the news this weekend saying that Iran was not supplying any weapons to the insurgence.
May 20th, 2008 at 11:59 amI guess Bush and Cheney are going to have to out another covert CIA agent before they can demonstrate some fake Iranian intel to justify their next massacre.
May 20th, 2008 at 12:02 pmBush Diplomacy:
Bush to Iran: It's my way or the highway, Brownie! Now stop building them nucular(sic) weapons!
Iran to Bush: Your intelligence experts all agree that we have no such program. We have also agreed to allow weapons inspectors in to prove we are not enriching uranium.
Bush to Iran: Too late brownie, the bombs are on there way, heh heh..."

Where's the stereotyped "pretty but dumb blonde" when we need it? Unfortunately, too many Americans are predisposed to believe her, just because.
May 20th, 2008 at 12:14 pmLet's see....3 out of 5 Iranians think producing nuclear weapons is against Islam. Hmmmm. Bush thinks it should be "0 out of 5", or should be, so let's attack.
1 out of 5 Iranians believes they should pursue nuclear weapons. Nope, not good enough. Bush wants "5 out of 5", so let's attack them.
3 out of 5 Iranians think Iran's decision to sign onto the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty was the right thing to do. Dummies. Bush wants "0 out of 5" to believe that, so let's attack them.
69% of Iranians have an unfavorable opinion of the US - down from 76%. We're moving in the right direction, but WAIT!. George Bush is unhappy with this, and wants 100% of Iranians to hate us, so let's attack them.
75% have an unfavoravble view of our government - down from 84%. Yippee!!!!!!!!! Whoops - too low a number. W needs 100% hated once again.....so let's attack Iran.
51% of Iranians have a favorable view of us regular American folk. Not bad. But it could be - and must be - mae worse, so let's bomb Iran and get that down to 0%!
And all those Iranians that think Ahmadinejhad is incompetent and bad for Iran? Well, George wants to help ol' Mahmoud out with that disapproval. How to do it? Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran, as McInsane would say.
There's no surer way than attacking Iran to send a clear message to the world about nuclear weapons: You better hurry the f*** up and get them, like North Korea, or the big bad bully USA is gonna f*** you all up.

May 20th, 2008 at 12:34 pmIf the Bush Administration does illegally bomb Iran be ready for something much bigger then 9/11. Look 9/11 was planned for the Bush/Cheney team to invade Iraq for oil. Yes it back fired because they didn't think the building will fall. But if the US bombs Iran which will be for Isreal. Look for other Middle East countries to react and then Russia will sent Nukes to protect Iran. Don't look for any foreign allies this time as we will be alone. Russia will sent Nukes to all parts of the United States. Our Economy is in recession and our Military is weak so we're hosed. When Russia and Iran are finished look for Isreal to say they had nothing to do with it as it was all the US doing.
Of course the Rich Americans like the Bush and Cheney Families will be overseas watching America get bombed. Most of the Law Makers will be on vacation overseas just to be on the safe side. You play will fire you get burned. The Bush Administration has been using this country for their personal greed and now if Americans who know the truth don't step up well Rome fell so can the USA.
May 20th, 2008 at 12:40 pmDana Perino is certainly a horse’s ass, but that doesn’t wipe the blood of American soldiers off the hands of the Iranian hierarchy. Like Saddam Hussein was, you mean?
From my perspective, if there's anyone with wool pulled over his or her eyes, it's the person who continues to put any credence whatsoever in anything that Bush and the assorted members of his administration might have to say.
FOOL ME ONCE, SHAME ON YOU -- FOOL ME TWICE, SHAME ON ME.

Iran is not a threat to the US just as Iraq was not a threat. It defies logic how a third rate military power is a threat to the country with the most powerful military in the history of the world. This is like me picking a fair fight with welterweight boxing champion, Floyd Mayweather.
May 20th, 2008 at 1:03 pmIf Bush bombs Iran he should be arrested, tried and convicted of MURDER.

The blood of 4000+ dead American soldiers is on the hands of Bush and Cheney and the gang of their lying impcompetent fellow neocons. The Iranian mullahs are not the ones who lied about WMD's to the American public in order to attack Iraq under false pretenses. The Iranian mullahs did not plant false stories in the NY Times in Oct. 2002 about yellowcake.

Speaking of which the US dollar did not just devaluate accidently. It is the result of U.S.government policy.
Of course Bush and Cheney are not going to be hurt like the American people are in the coming days..they knew this was coming...they helped make it happen.
Bush now has his gazilion acres in Paraguay and Cheney moved his money into non-dollarinvestments like European bonds.
The real enemies of the American people are not the Iranian people...they are in the White House.
