On Sunday night, after Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) delivered the the Norman Podhoretz Lecture at the annual dinner of the Commentary Fund, the Wall Street Journal’s James Taranto asked Lieberman what “happened” to his former running mate, Vice President Al Gore, for him to be “delivering angry anti-Iraq rants to MoveOne.org.” “Damned if I know,” responded Lieberman.
Wow. The irony is so thick you could spread it on toast.
May 20th, 2008 at 2:51 pmIs there anything that you do know anything about , Lieberman ?
Doesn’t appear that there is …………
I mean , what supposed Democratic Senator campaigns with the GOP nominee for president ?
And one of the worst nominees outside of Chimpy in US history , no less……….
May 20th, 2008 at 2:51 pmMr. Lieberman: you have been damned by people all over the world for years now. How does it feel to be a stupid, vile war criminal? A traitor to democracy.
May 20th, 2008 at 2:52 pmLIEberpants wants to be the VP choice with McCain. Thinks there will be ‘crossover’ appeal. Yup…about as much appeal as a rotten banana in a garbage can of coffee grounds.
May 20th, 2008 at 2:52 pmStick that “I” up your arse, Joe. You’re not fooling anyone.
May 20th, 2008 at 2:54 pmWell, Al Gore does have lapses in judgment from time to time. Look at the piece of @#$% he picked as his running mate in 2000 for example.
May 20th, 2008 at 2:55 pmLieberman insults Gore: ‘Damned if I know’ what ‘happened’ to him.»
Well, here’s a couple things we DO KNOW that Gore did not do:
May 20th, 2008 at 2:58 pmHe didn’t whore himself out to the right for political gain.
He didn’t hide behind the moniker of (I) to further the NeoCon agenda.
Be careful what you say there, Joey boy, as you may well be damned for your knowledge.
Can someone please tell the idiots at WSJ that Lieberman is not a Democrat!?
“…Lieberman, a senior Democrat,…”
James Taranto is really out of touch.
May 20th, 2008 at 2:58 pmYes, Joe…what happened to you? Damned if we know. In a twisted way, it’s probably better you didn’t get to be VP, you’d be giving us your boring, monotonal, nanny-like vocal opinions all the time. Oh, wait, you’re doing that NOW as a Republican shill.
May 20th, 2008 at 2:59 pmDear Senator Lieberman,
Heard you didn’t know what happened to Al Gore.
Just wanted you to know he went on to advance the cause of climate change around the world, garnered a Nobel, continued to earn the respect of his fellow countrymen and those around the world, spoke sanely (and continues to) about our country’s failed and insane foreign policy, stood up for our broken military, remained a dedicated and proud democrat and advocate for their causes, etc.
If your head hadn’t been shoved so far up your *ss the past 8 years, you would be aware of these things.
You’re welcome.
Regards,

The real question is what has happened to Lieberman. There was no substantive threat by Iraq prior to the US invasion. Aq in the country never existed prior to our invasion and have a foothold now only because of our unpopularity. If we left, Sunni and Shiite militias would take care of the rest and probably have to reconcile since the US would no longer be there to manage the process as the country partitions itself.
There are two possibilities:
1. Lieberman is simply a coward like most of the pants wetting Republicans and conservatives who honestly believed the bull provided by Cheney and the neocons.
2. Lieberman recognizes the use of fear tactics on the part of McCain and the Republicans. He made his own plans a long time ago to become McCain’s running mate.
May 20th, 2008 at 3:00 pmLokidog – you should have added a PS. PS, LIEberpants, you’re done in the Democratic caucus come November.
May 20th, 2008 at 3:01 pmLiebermann insults Gore, should we expect anything better from a man who did this:
“Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) for proclaiming Congress needs to rekindle the unity they shared in the days after 9/11 and to stop the political partisan bickering — and then chose to spend the anniversary of the tragedy at a Freedom Concert hosted by FOXNews’ biggest hack, Sean Hannity — featuring some of the biggest partisan haters in American history, including Ann Coulter, Newt Gingrich and Ollie North.”
Enough said…
May 20th, 2008 at 3:05 pmGeeDubs:
That will be a day for mucho celebration.
No one deserves to be kicked to the curb more than Tail Gunner Joe McCa….I mean, Lieberman.
May 20th, 2008 at 3:09 pmJoe Lieberman thinks Al Gore is the one with issues. What kind of drugs does one have to day to make one so delusional?
May 20th, 2008 at 3:11 pmNasty little sh*t.
May 20th, 2008 at 3:12 pmAs opposed to Joe(I-Israel) Liebernam, whom we know exactly what happened to. Take coat, turn it. Put it on and lobby for Israel as a DINO repuglycan.
May 20th, 2008 at 3:14 pmthe Wall Street Journal’s James Taranto asked Lieberman what “happened” to his former running mate, Vice President Al Gore, for him to be “delivering angry anti-Iraq rants to MoveOne.org.” “Damned if I know,” responded Lieberman.
Are we supposed to be shocked or stunned somehow that Gore doesn’t converse with turncoat/war criminal Lieberman ?
May 20th, 2008 at 3:15 pmI need to correct my post.
Nasty BACKSTABBING little sh*t.
There. Fixed it.
May 20th, 2008 at 3:20 pmWe need to stay focused so vermin like this don’t have much say in any policy decisions come next year. Marginalize the bastard and make sure the I in Independent becomes an I-Beam we use as a bludgeon to the whole Republican cesspool.
May 20th, 2008 at 3:21 pmHmmmm, a Nobel Peace Prize, an Oscar for a globally praised documentary on Global Warming, accolades across the Planet…
you mean THAT Al Gore, Joe?
What the Hell happened to Joe is the question…did the NSA find those pics of you since the 2000 election, or WHAT?
May 20th, 2008 at 3:29 pmI think this comment should be said about Lieberman, not Gore. What happened? I can’t believe I actually voted for this guy in 2000.
May 20th, 2008 at 4:33 pmHey it is the silly white dude that is scared shitless of black dudes. So how ya been
May 20th, 2008 at 5:56 pmLieberman is why I voted for Nader in 2000.
