Anti-gay website removes comparison of marrying same-sex couples to helping the Nazis.
Reacting to the California Supreme Court’s decision allowing gay marriage, the website of the far right group Campaign for Children and Families recently compared county clerks issuing same-sex marriage licenses to Nazis gassing Jews during the Holocaust. From the site:
Ask your county clerk if they were a Nazi officer during WWII and had been ordered to gas the Jews, would they? At the Nuremberg trials, they would have been convicted of murder for following this immoral order.
Campaign for Children and Families has now removed this text from its site. Good As You, however, has saved the original version here and writes, “We know you said it. We know that you were likening the ‘tough’ decision to marry gays to the mind-blowingly abominable order to murder humans. And everyone else is going to know it to. We’ll see to that.”

The Nazis prosecuted gay people, and sent anyone accused of being gay to the extermination camps, along with Jews and communists.
If anyone is behaving like true little Nazi wannabes here, is the CCF. Not that historical facts would ever stop them from contending otherwise.

What the Right Wingers (And Hillary) are attempting to do is scare Obama, and also to imprint impressionable robots, dittoheads, rednecks, skinheads, and sheep to maybe make an attempt on his life.

May 25th, 2008 at 5:53 pmI try to give people the benefit of the doubt. I understand the idea of disobeying an immoral order. And, I guess to some people, the idea of homosexual marriage is immoral. Okay.
But, it is striking that the level of homophobia is so great, that these people want to equate homosexual marriage to Nazis killing Jews. Where do you start with that? It’s ridiculous.
Kudos to TP for helping to shine the light of day on this kind of bigotry, and frankly, idiocy.
The ruling from the 9th circuit was outstanding. It’s one of the reasons our systems works.
Some will disagree with me when I say this, but this ruling highlights the reason why it is important that the founding father’s insisted our system not be a true democracy, but rather a representational republic.
If we lived in a true democracy - the majority of voters in California that oppose gay marriage could deny the liberty of it’s gay and lesbian citizens.
Just because a majority of the citizens want something, doesn’t mean that it is the right or best thing for the country. Unlimited power to the people can compromise the liberties of the minority.

That is why when the Constitution is violated by other branches,such as the DOJ, then that contract with the citizens is breached and life, liberty and justice is no longer guaranteed for any of us…

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that progressives will gain power in the congress in the upcoming election. It is also a safe bet that Obama will win the White House.
If the progressive claims of Bush’s trampling of the Constitution are correct, new leaders will rectify the situation. I believe that our circumstance is not dire. We will collectively moderate our government over time.
Despite the sentiment of the day, we are fortunate to have a relatively flexible system that can generally accomodate the needs of the people. Whatever we decide those needs are.
