McCain voted with Bush 100 percent of the time in 2008.»

According to a CQ analysis of Senate votes on issues President Bush expressed “an explicit, stated opinion,” Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) voted with President Bush 100 percent of the time in 2008 and 95 percent of the time in 2007. Despite his record, McCain’s supporters try to deny that a McCain presidency would be a third Bush term in terms of pushing similar policies. Recently, the campaign has gone to great lengths to avoid being seen with Bush.

I think the GOP will try to convince the voting populace that once a maverick, always a maverick. Even when your voting record is most un-mavericklike.

  3. Leporello Says:

Step right up, step right up! See the Amazing Maveric Johny McInsane! See him stand up to his own campaign rhetoric and vote, in tireless lock step, with the Administration! What a Maveric! He even defies himself! You can’t beat logic like this folks! Even when he’s wrong, he’s right, ’cause He’s A Maveric!
Impeach Cheney and Bush and Save the Constitution, then get a Real Live Human Being as a Republican candidate and End This Circus!
    Abu Ben Hussein Leporello.

  4. shoeless Says:

If McCain was a real team player, he would have given Bush 110%.

  5. A Patriot Acting Says:

These statistics become even clearer when you take into account all the votes that McCant has missed. Seems like he only shows up to vote for Bush policy issues. Maverick indeed!

  7. Mr. Evil Says:

He can distance himself physically from Bush all he wants, but his record will follow him like a little lost puppy dog.

  8. Louis Lemire Says:

McSame. Two-faced. Liar. GOP extroidinaire. Pathetic excuse for a human being. Need one say more?

  9. Zimzone Says:

McIIIrd’s also been wrong on issues 100% of the time.
    -Economic recovery
    -Emission controls
    -Iraq invasion
    -GI Bill
    -Hagee & Parsley
    -Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran
    -More troops in Iraq
    -Student loan sharks

I could go on, but you get the picture. McCain is a washed up, over honored, bad pilot, elderly, wrong is right type of guy.

What do you expect from McBush?
McBush is Bush, just on steroids.

    You are what you eat!

  12. citizen_pain Says:

Yeah, so what. He’s the kind of guy you’d want at your BBQ.

  13. theswan Says:

He wants to be a twin but only for the money.(ie., the 30 second airport encounter). Bush has become like something mccain has stepped on and can’t get it off his shoe. The poop is bad but he must wear it, the smell, well that is something else. Likely, he will have to get into some sneekers so he can crawl around the whitehouse undetected.

  14. McWars Says:

But..but..Mark Levin thinks he’s too librul. We’re in store for socialism under John McCain!

  15. larkohio Says:

He is Bushlite! No maverick here, not at all…

  16. ForTruth Says:

I didn’t know McCain even voted in 2008.

  17. Marie Says:

    No surprise there with McClone.

  18. McWars Says:

BTW, if any of you have ever heard Mark Levin speak, he’s talks — and regularly yells — like a weenie.

I think it’s amusing how he spouts off against Obama. When Obama makes clear that we’re 5% of the world’s population using 25% of the world’s energy, he goes on this rant about the next president wanting to control how much meat he eats or what temp his thermostat is set to.

    What an idiot.

  19. Zimzone Says:

I keep picturing John Belushi singing ‘Rawhide’ while McCain chases a small calf around a rodeo ring.

The eroding infrastructure will continue to crumble.

The Military Industrial Entertainment Complex will continue to thrive.

More right wing appointees to the Supreme Court is likely.

The Perpetual War Society will continue with the Military contractors raking in the dough.

The Women’s Right to Choose for an Abortion will disappear.

A likely Federal Amendment to Ban Gay Marriage.

The Middle Class in America will continue to dissapear.

We will be that further way from exposing the truth about 9/11.

Coninued taxpayer responsibility for more wars and more wars.
And we’ll continue to pay for KBR, Haliburton, Bechtel, Blackwater.

Our moral standing will continue to plummet with human rights abuses worldwide. (secret prisons)
    And…
Say goodbye “officially” to the Constitution and The Bill of Rights
Seniors citizens will continue to have to choose between a full dose of medication or food

Bush’s “Have Mores” will continue to destroy what’s left of the middle class.

  22. Leftside Annie Says:

Way to be a maverick, McChimpy.

    NOT.

  23. Uncle Ho Says:

can there be any doubts now about McPutz being another Bush? i.e.- more of the same. more wars, more tax cuts for the filthy rich, dissing veterans, ….and on, and on, and on….

  24. trollsbwild Says:

This is no suprise for anyone who has been following MyCane. However, the issue is HOW can anyone believe the MSM’s spin labeling him as a “maverick”?

  25. Oilfieldguy Says:

When two people agree 100 percent of the time, it makes one of them irrelevant. It would be nice if the media would use this fact instead of empty-headed rhetoric like “Maverick.”

  26. MCMetal Says:

    John McLobbyistsBestFriend

He’s as much a “Maverick” as Chimpy is an intellectual ……..

  27. ralph the wonder llama Says:

100% agreement, huh? So that’s what it takes to be a Maverick™ these days?

  28. Wayne Says:

McFlipflop went through the transition from “maverick” to “steer” quite a few years ago. Maybe “they” were just too small for some people to notice the current difference yet.

  29. TheToonGuy Says:

If you liked Bush, you’ll love McCain.

  30. Zimzone Says:

100% wrong 100% of the time.

    Ya gotta love his consistency…

I do care to notice the right-wing beacon of strength, the saying that keeps them fighting for power over the people: “The glass is half-full — of blood”

  32. bs Says:

maverick…… my ass. he wasn’t the only maverick in vietnam. last time i checked there were thousands and thousands died over another phony war. this prick is no more special than my good vietnam vet friend that has suffered far more extensive injuries than this peckerwood.

  33. RUCerious Says:

McIIIrd, BushitCoIII. One and the same.

Please do EVERYTHING in your power to prevent this disaster from occuring.

  34. bs Says:

he is such a maverick he has voted against .5% raise for military and vets. he conveniently missed the vote on the gi bill to attend a swanky dinner in cali but voiced his vote NO because all of this is to generous. that prick doesn’t deserve comp/pen from the military for throwing his fellow mavericks under the bus.

  35. Nettles Says:

Reminder: Not every Democrat is in favor of a precipitous withdrawel from Iraq. No one wants more US troops to lay down their lives, but it is a fact that the surge in American forces has had a positive effect in bringing down the violence. McCain has certainly pandered to the conservative base of the Republican party throughout the nomination process, but Barack has done the same thing with regard to the anti-war base of the Democrats. Chalk that up to the nasty realities of securing one’s party nomination. In truth, where Barack stands on a great deal of foreign policy issues (Iran in particular) is quite cloudy, or shall I say windy as it seems to change every day. McCain’s clarity (on this issue) will serve him well with centrists and independents.

  36. RantingTommy Says:

Nettles: the “surge” was not responsible for the reduction in violence, the order to stand down by militia leader was

the violence increased again as soon as they rescinded the order.

  37. Wayne Says:

    Nettles Says:

How many people do you really think you fool by calling yourself a Democrat and then posting crap like :”McCain’s clarity (on this issue) will serve him well with centrists and independents.”?

Either you are an idiot or you think we are.

  38. Chris L Says:

    Nettles,

While we may not know Obama’s position on everything with absolute clarity, we do know McCain’s. It is the same as Bush’s. There is no difference, and there never was. McCain has not been pandering to the base, he has followed Bush lockstep the entire time he has been in office. So, while I may not know Obama’s exact positions on the economy, immigration, etc., I don’t want four more years of Bush. That is what McCain offers - four more years of Bush and an attack on Iran.

    Wanna’ know the difference ?

Obama has been against Chimpy’s Illegal and Idiotic Iraq Adventure since its inception ; McLobbyistsBestFriend has been all for it , and behind every completely inaccurate “plan”.

Also , most Americans believe thatwe need to engage in discussions with those who our perceived “enemies” ; McBush’s reliance on more “cowboy diplomacy” is something the majority of American people are sick of.

Your assessments of “moderates” and “independents” being drawn to McStupid are completely erroneous and close to laughable………

    ________

That’s because a “precipitous withdrawel from Iraq” is a physical impossibility made up by conservative bloviators as a straw man to scare the electorate into prolonging the war indefinitely. Unless the military suddenly acquires the technology to instantly teleport all our troops, contractors, vehicles, and equipment out of Iraq, it is physically impossible to “precipitously withdraw.”

“Think?” The upcoming theft of the 2008 election has already been widely reported.

  44. McWars Says:

Wayne, we’re going to see many more “democrats” dispatched here from the RNC. ‘Nettles’ is a neocon who wants to see the election handed to McCain. Piece of shit.

wasn’t it just last month or two back we seen one of the deadliest months. let’s not forget their talking about specific pockets of violence. what about the uprise violence to find the boogie man osama in afghan? it’s down in one area because our forces litter the grounds where violence is up due to pulling troops from one to another spot. this is a complete joke and you have NOOOOOO clue.

  49. Buckie Boy Says:

I heard Steph Miller use my Grampy McSame this morning on the radio…hehe.

Grampy McSame says - My friends back in the day we all did as we were told, none of the this free thinking stuff, oh no, if you were a free thinker we would wrap those types in a rug and throw them in a black berry patch, they would think twice about not thinking like the rest of us, and when I would vote, I would take my rock and pound it once, not twice, just once, just like the leader, we all knew the leader is always right, so that makes thinking easy, just pound your rock like our leader, but then a new leader challenged him to a pound off, oh dear what a mess that was…speaking of messes, I think I just sat in a bucket of warm gravy, mmm, warm.

Well Grampy, considering that EVERYTHING Bush has done has been wrong, you sure aren’t helping by voting how the Chimp told you to vote.

  50. Leftside Annie Says:

    Awesome, Buckie!! :o)

Let me be clear: I have never pretended to be a Democrat, but just because I am (proudly) to the right of the Lyndon LaRouches and the Ramsey Clarks of the world does not make me a Republican either. Forgive me for being out of lock-step w/ the TP company line. Wanna know what’s worse than a neocon? A whiny Casper Milqtoast conformist who can’t swallow a dissenting point of view, irregardless of pragmatism.

  53. octamethyl Says:

Bush’s creepy uncle John has some ’splainin to do. Still, I worry that the repug machine will some how get him in office, be it rigged elections, discounting critical votes, or appealing to bush’s conservative supreme court again.

So McSame is the right description after all.

  55. pistolpackinliberal Says:

nettles, two things: since when did the conservatives become the “non” -conformists? I must have been busy watching re-runs of politically incorrect while this sea change occurred and more bemusedly- if you’re (proudly) to the right of Larouche, et.al.,does this mean you”re an anarchist?

  56. pistolpackinliberal Says:

nettles, i almost forgot-”irregardless” is a redundancy.Drop the i and r and at least appear cogent
