nettles, two things: since when did the conservatives become the "non" -conformists? I must have been busy watching re-runs of politically incorrect while this sea change occurred and more bemusedly- if you're (proudly) to the right of Larouche, et.al.,does this mean you"re an anarchist?

Bush's creepy uncle John has some 'splainin to do. Still, I worry that the repug machine will some how get him in office, be it rigged elections, discounting critical votes, or appealing to bush's conservative supreme court again.

I heard Steph Miller use my Grampy McSame this morning on the radio...hehe.

Grampy McSame says - My friends back in the day we all did as we were told, none of the this free thinking stuff, oh no, if you were a free thinker we would wrap those types in a rug and throw them in a black berry patch, they would think twice about not thinking like the rest of us, and when I would vote, I would take my rock and pound it once, not twice, just once, just like the leader, we all knew the leader is always right, so that makes thinking easy, just pound your rock like our leader, but then a new leader challenged him to a pound off, oh dear what a mess that was...speaking of messes, I think I just sat in a bucket of warm gravy, mmm, warm.

Well Grampy, considering that EVERYTHING Bush has done has been wrong, you sure aren't helping by voting how the Chimp told you to vote.

misshusseinmolly Says:

I think the GOP will try to convince the voting populace that once a maverick, always a maverick. Even when your voting record is most un-mavericklike.

And they will undoubtedly succeed. It takes a lot of talent to get 50% of the vote when you represent only 2% of the the population.

Nettles Says:but it is a fact that the surge in American forces has had a positive effect in bringing down the violence.
----------------------------------

wasn't it just last month or two back we seen one of the deadliest months. let's not forget their talking about specific pockets of violence. what about the uprise violence to find the boogie man osama in afghan? it's down in one area because our forces litter the grounds where violence is up due to pulling troops from one to another spot. this is a complete joke and you have NOOOOOO clue.

________

That's because a "precipitous withdrawel from Iraq" is a physical impossibility made up by conservative bloviators as a straw man to scare the electorate into prolonging the war indefinitely. Unless the military suddenly acquires the technology to instantly teleport all our troops, contractors, vehicles, and equipment out of Iraq, it is physically impossible to "precipitously withdraw."

Nettles Says:

Reminder: Not every Democrat is in favor of a precipitous withdrawel from Iraq. No one wants more US troops to lay down their lives, but it is a fact that the surge in American forces has had a positive effect in bringing down the violence. McCain has certainly pandered to the conservative base of the Republican party throughout the nomination process, but Barack has done the same thing with regard to the anti-war base of the Democrats. Chalk that up to the nasty realities of securing one’s party nomination. In truth, where Barack stands on a great deal of foreign policy issues (Iran in particular) is quite cloudy, or shall I say windy as it seems to change every day. McCain’s clarity (on this issue) will serve him well with centrists and independents.

Wanna' know the difference ?

Obama has been against Chimpy's Illegal and Idiotic Iraq Adventure since its inception ; McLobbyistsBestFriend has been all for it , and behind every completely inaccurate "plan".

Also , most Americans believe thatwe need to engage in discussions with those who our perceived "enemies" ; McBush's reliance on more "cowboy diplomacy" is something the majority of American people are sick of.

Your assessments of "moderates" and "independents" being drawn to McStupid are completely erroneous and close to laughable.........

Nettles,

While we may not know Obama's position on everything with absolute clarity, we do know McCain's. It is the same as Bush's. There is no difference, and there never was. McCain has not been pandering to the base, he has followed Bush lockstep the entire time he has been in office. So, while I may not know Obama's exact positions on the economy, immigration, etc., I don't want four more years of Bush. That is what McCain offers - four more years of Bush and an attack on Iran.
