Reading many of the posts here, I believe it’s time that many of these people went back to wherever they came from and took their anti-southern bias with them. Either love Dixie or get out. I doubt if a native southerner sent you an invitation to come.

The South just happens to be proud of who we are.And the Confederate Flag is just a part of it.It’s not about slavery it’s about honor it’s about pride.If we have a bunch of low life trailer trash living here it’s because we have so many Yankees here.Why do you assume that they are southern people, it’s a fact that there are more Yankees here then natives.We just honor our family members that fought the War Between The Sates along with the other wars they fought.We just have our flag to display are pride of the South.I guess the North just has no pride in who they are.And if your here in the South and you don’t like they way we are then GO HOME YANKEE!!You know you won’t fine any nicer people then in the South were really not that bad we just have pride in our Confederate Flag just like Old Glory we fly them with great pride not hate.

Slavery is part of the history of the U.S., not just the south.

A good number of the southern states receive more money from the Federal government than they pay in taxes.

If they are marginalized in any way it’s probably because they marginalized themselves by remaining stuck in the past while the rest of the world moves ahead into the future.

Most Southerners who like the rebel flag think of it not as representative of the war and/or slavery, but of the region. It represents pride in the south as a distinct area of the country. Slavery is part of the history of the U.S., not just the south.

What Southerners fail to grasp is that the Confederate flag is synonymous to slavery and no matter how they try to spin it, there is nothing romantic, good, or respectable about “their way of life” that enslaved an entire race of people.
