Commenting in an article about Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) foreign policy advisers, Iraq war apologist Michael O’Hanlon insisted McCain has been “proven right” on Iraq:
I don’t think they’re neocons. I think they’re pragmatists because they’ve been right. He (McCain) himself has been proven right about Iraq, and so on Iraq, I think you can say McCain has a strong track record.
O’Hanlon is hardly known for being a tough critic, considering he gave his own record on Iraq “a score of 7 out of 10.” Despite the right-wing’s constant attempt to declare Bush “right” on Iraq, McCain’s record doesn’t lie.
A “tough critic” by giving himself 7 out of 10? He was stacking his own deck! 1 or 2 out of 10 would have been more appropriate!
Oh, no, they’re not neocons… they just happen to support and parrot everything that is neocon.
And just because the right keeps repeating that McCain is right about the war/surge, doesn’t make it so, and the public is onto this sham war now.
PEACE

June 9th, 2008 at 8:09 pmI think they’re pragmatists because they’ve been right. He (McCain) himself has been proven right about Iraq, and so on Iraq, I think you can say McCain has a strong track record.
Yeah
The price of rugs in Baghdad while being trailed by a brigade of soldiers , 3 helicopters and a couple of assault tanks sure proved him “right” O’Handbag …………

June 9th, 2008 at 8:13 pmDemonstrating that experience is truly no substitute for judgment, John McCain like President Bush was sadly wrong at almost every turn in promoting the invasion and occupation of Iraq. From his predictions of a short war and claims U.S. troops would be greeted as liberators to his announcements of mission accomplished, his ongoing confusion over friend and foe in Iraq and so much more, McCain’s is an unbroken legacy of error.
For the details, see:
June 9th, 2008 at 8:14 pm“McCain and Friends Rewrite History on Iraq.”
Only local news on the west coast right now. Is it on any of the networks, back east?
June 9th, 2008 at 8:15 pmoh, he’s real right about Iraq, especially when he’s not talking about Iraq. Like when he confuses one country with another!
June 9th, 2008 at 8:17 pmKucinich is on CSPAN. Don’t know if any other channels are carrying it.
June 9th, 2008 at 8:19 pmKucinich has 35 articles of impeachment, and he just started #7 – invading Iraq without a declaration of war.
I sure hope someone out there is live blogging this one, but I’m very sure it will be replayed.

June 9th, 2008 at 8:21 pmThe MSM will not give a dying peep of this news!!
June 9th, 2008 at 8:22 pmUnfortunately, O’Hanlon is one of the people who still believes his mommy’s assurance that he’s “the brightest boy in the world”. And he suffers from an affliction which makes him parrot Reichwing talking points. I wonder if his hair looks like that from wearing a hood around the office?
June 9th, 2008 at 8:22 pmArticle #8 – invading Iraq in violation of the U.N. charter and international law
Sorry, I didn’t get the first 6 articles as I, too, just tuned in.

June 9th, 2008 at 8:23 pmI’d sure like to see if there are any other dem congressmen there with him, but the camera won’t pan backward.
June 9th, 2008 at 8:24 pmThe MSM will not give a dying peep of this news!!
FoxSnooze was ready to cover it live but they had to cut away because there’s a high-speed police chase in L.A. involving Britney Spears.
June 9th, 2008 at 8:25 pmoh yey! I finally got it on… I’m a watch it..
June 9th, 2008 at 8:25 pmHe’s also saying that Bush abrogated the authority given him in the AUMF, because he knew in advance that Iraq wasn’t a real threat.
June 9th, 2008 at 8:26 pmI hope there’s a Part II with 37 counts against Dick(head) Cheney!!
June 9th, 2008 at 8:26 pmGod, I hope Olbermann is all over this.
June 9th, 2008 at 8:27 pmoh, hey, I read on the Huffington Post that the US is pulling out of the U.N.’s Human Rights Council… how effed up is that?

Even if they are Republican. This is an election year.
Charge of not providing required body and vehicle armor to troops.
This is big.
Duncan Hunter is my rep., and as former chairman of the armed services committee, he knew all along this was happening, and apparently just didn’t care. It would be a waste of keystrokes.
June 9th, 2008 at 8:40 pmMccain has been “proven right about Iraq”?
I didn’t realise McCain had ever said Iraq was one of the biggest military blunders in recent memory, and that Bush was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Iraqis.
Who knew!
/sarc off
June 9th, 2008 at 8:49 pmbarfly,
You’re right. Dunkin’ Hunter is a lost RePugniScum…doomed to the hell he fears so much.
June 9th, 2008 at 8:49 pmKucinich is absolutely nailing it! I sure hope the media picks this up tomorrow. They need to take this seriously and get it in front of the American public before asshats like Limpballs and Little Seanie Insanity character-assassinate Dennis.
June 9th, 2008 at 8:50 pmYes, the McCain record doesn’t lie. This is courtesy of a British newspaper:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk:80/femail/article-1024927/The-wife-John-McCain-callously-left-behind.html

June 9th, 2008 at 9:29 pmVerbalKint Says:
Yikes. What’s O’Hanlon been smoking?
Drinking, you mean. O’Hamhead is attempting the classic re-writing of history that used to be the publishers domain, since they owned the book companies. The internet has permanently changed that.
June 9th, 2008 at 9:31 pmO’Hanlon is the token Irish Jew in the Kristol Cabal at the Weakly (sub)Standard.
June 9th, 2008 at 9:34 pmAnybody up for kicking JinJin’s ass. A little respect is all I ask….
June 9th, 2008 at 10:18 pm.
Dear Mr O’Hanlon,
You talk facts yet provide none…
THEY(sic) do say that talk is on the cheep now-a days.
.
June 10th, 2008 at 2:01 amWell as the McCain supporters fight over him being right or wrong about Iraq. The Iraq President is talking with the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei about working with Iran in partnership. Yes as John Kerry and John McCain say they wont talk to the leader of Iran who they call President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the real Ruler is the Supreme Leader. Right or Wrong about Iraq our Law Makers don’t even know who rules Iran. The US Government, White House, Pentagon and all involved in making decisions in Foreign Policy for the USA should take a class in the Culture/Governments of the Middle East. Even the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei laughs at the US Law Makers and how stupid they are.
