E.D. Hill loses her Fox News show after ‘terrorist fist jab’ remark.

Last week, Fox News’s E.D. Hill called a fist pound between Barack and Michelle Obama a “terrorist fist jab.” Following Hill’s remark, Media Matters launched a petition calling on Hill to apologize. TVNewser is reporting that Fox News has canceled America’s Pulse, the nightly news show anchored by Hill: “America’s Pulse anchored by E.D. Hill goes away, but Hill stays with the network in a capacity to be determined.” The cancellation comes just four days after Hill’s “terrorist fist jab” remark, although the network would not give the reason for its actions. Hill apologized for her remarks on her show today. Watch it:

whatever, she’ll be on some other dumb show soon enough just like Limpballs and Imus the terrible!

Yum! What a delicious serving of schadenfreude! ;o)

  4. gunclinger says:

    Ugh, MMFA is so whiney.

  5. J says:

Knowing Fox, she’ll just be moving into a Prime-time slot. Watch out Bill-o. You’ve got some serious competition.

  6. ninique says:

yey! hurray, the witch is dead, the wicked witch is dead, oops, wrong song, oh well, same premise!

  7. Emily68 says:

So just who in the media did characterize the fist pound as a “terrorist fist jab?” She’s the only person I know of who is associated with that phrase.

  8. Ms_Joanne says:

As much as I cheer this, she’s a disposable woman. What about all the others who do this $hit near daily?

Spare me, Fox, your token firing. Now they can say that they did something. YAWN. Drop of water in the ocean.

  9. mrtibbs says:

Fox Noise falls very short of convincing me that this was because of her comments. The fact that O’Reily has made far more slanderous statements and had not been removed says to me that Fox was not making enough money of E.D the Talking Head and found a way out of her contract……

  10. MCMetal says:

“America’s Pulse anchored by E.D. Hill goes away, but Hill stays with the network in a capacity to be determined.”

Looks like the position of loofah searcher for O’Lielly has finally been filled…………

  11. gunclinger says:

mrtibbs, curious, what slanderous comments did O’Reily make regarding Obama?

  12. Art says:

She said that “it was referred to in the media as a … terrorist fist jab.”
    Where in the media?
I can’t find any reference as a “terrorist fist jab” until she said it herself.

  13. ninique says:

hey, guys! come on now, it may be a half ass apology but it beats anything Dickey is capable of!

  14. IgnoranceIsNotBliss says:

I don’t know about anyone else, but she’s the only one that I can think of who brought up the terrorist fist jab. I’m pretty sure no one else did.

You believe a statement insinuating the future 1st Lady of the US should be lynched is a love letter ?

  17. mrtibbs says:

gunclinger…I did not write/mention Obama at all in my comment…i was ambiguous at best
    cheers

  18. Namtillaku says:

That’s because she’s getting a promotion after everyone has forgotten about this.

  19. galmud says:

    Yep another non-apology apology

“I certainly didnt mean to associate the word terrorist in any way with senator Obama or his wife”

And yet thats exactly what she did and thats exactly what she meant to do.

The excuse that it wasnt her personal opinion is completely irrelevant. Its a just another “some say..” where they cherrypick and highlight some extreme nutcase opinions like they are mainstream, or just make shit up and claim innocence because nobody can check if what they say is true anyway

  20. octamethyl says:

I cannot imagine jsut how difficult it would be to replace such an outstanding journalist. We all know how hard it is to find that special braindead, brainwashed beaver.

  22. ForTruth says:

I think they were gonna cancel the show anyway.

Yep she claims it was just one example how media had characterized it.

Wheres the proof of this? What media? Should be easy enough to find if it were true

  28. gunclinger says:

I think the fox news blondes are outstanding to watch, especially sitting pretty in their skirts. If only Fox would team up with the hot spanish speaking women of Primer Impacto. Nothing like sexing up the boring news..

    word UP, brotha!!@!

Until this minute I had no acquaintance with the name “E.D. Hill.” What Fox should do with her now is remove all pretense and strip her down, gloss up her lips, and turn her loose on, oh, the weather.

or anyone that has mAnn Coulter as a guest?

Actually, believe it or not, I’m kind of sad E(rectile) D(ysfunction) got canned over a dum bass statement. I honestly think an apology of “Sorry, I said something stupid and baseless. Please forgive me” would have been sufficient.

  33. MCMetal says:

Anyone read this stupid ho’s half-assed “apology” ?

“Want to start the show by clarifying something I said on the show last Friday about an upcoming body language segment. Now, I mentioned various ways the Obamas’ fist pump in St. Paul had been characterized in the media. I apologize because unfortunately, some thought I personally had characterized it inappropriately. I regret that. It was not my intention. And I certainly didn’t mean to associate the word “terrorist” in any way to Senator Obama and his wife.”

Oh , I see ; you used the word “terrorist” to describe the crowd that was going wild for the Obamas……..Lying sack of crap.

  34. sectionop92 says:

E.D. Hill is now relieving the “ARRRRgression” for St. Rupert, Mt. Billo and Sean Insanity in a new show meant for “internal viewing” only. Roger Ailes is “terrorist fist jabbing” Allan Colmes for outing Karl Rove (Faux code name: The Golden Piggy) on-air. And Brit Hume has to sleep with one basset hound eye open at all times to keep away the Beltway Boys from siphoning his blood from his veins, so they can feed it to Cheney.

  39. misshusseinmolly says:

Just a question — was Hill’s “terrorist fist jab” remark written by her? Or was she merely reading somebody else’s script off a teleprompter?

Was Hill the one who made the decision to make the association between Obama and terrorism, and then fail to deliver anything to back it up in her piece? Or was this the decision of some other bonehead, and Hill is the one getting thrown under the bus for it?

Let’s assume for a moment that E.D. Hill is the one who decides what words come out of her mouth on her show, as well as associated tosses and teases. If this is the case, she deserves to be fired — not because of the PC Police, but because even to suggest something that slanderous without any substance to back it up violates — oh, I don’t know how many rules of journalism.

Now there’s the little matter of her “apology” (or clarification, or whatever it was). She said that she had merely “mentioned various ways the Obamas’ fist pump in St. Paul had been characterized in the media.” Yet, she never once said anything specific in her piece about any medium calling the fist pump a “terrorist fist jab.”

If this is all Hill’s doing, she must go. But if she has only been serving as a sock puppet for others, we need to continue digging.

I just tried googling it as well — all references of this phrase lead to her, directly or indirectly. I say “indirectly” because right now EVERYBODY seems to be using it to describe fist bumps everywhere, and attributing the phrase to Hill.

  41. klevenstein says:

    Lookit ‘em running scared.

Maybe they figured out that most Americans are outraged that anti-terrorism got co-opted purely for political gain by the GOP, and they can’t even do a minimally competent job of any real security improvements.

Dr Matt, now isn’t that just sweet? Kinda like Bush’s Likud style cluster bomb style ass twisting anti-American trashing of our Constitution?

Using Hill’s definition, it would appear that perhaps as many as 50% of Americans are terrorists. Maybe we should lock up all of them (perhaps as many as 150 million Americans). Then gas prices would surely go down because there would be a lot fewer drivers! Heh, heh!

Here is the original statement, which Faux picked up, that was posted at Human Events.com
    ______________________________________

Apparently, the item has since been scrubbed from the humanevents.com site. But I was able to find from other sources referencing the piece that Cal Thomas was the author of that hateful and incorrect statement.

I think that when media outlets use the term “media” — as in “characterized in the media”, they need to differentiate between media with some journalistic integrity and media that don’t want to feel confined by such standards. Otherwise people could infer that a characterization is coming from several MSM outlets, when the truth is that it’s only coming from a single bigoted crackpot.

I know the age of their audience is climbing, but I’m amazed that whoever wrote the “terrorist fist bump” bit could either be that ignorant or think that they could get away with that one.

You would have had to never be around people under the age of 40 and would have had to never witnessed any sporting events to ever be a target for that scam.

    Nick Juliano of Raw Story:

Author Rory O’Connor called her Right-Wing Radio’s High Priestess of Hate in a recent column, which documented some of her more egregious errors in punditry.

In one of her most famous incidents, on Election Day 2006 Ingraham encouraged listeners to jam the phone line of a toll-free Democratic Party service for reporting voting problems. No tangible consequences came of it (the Democrats won anyway), but it did put Democratic Senator Patrick Leahy up in arms.

omg, OMG! Isn’t that what Kucinich was referring to in regards to voter fraud and tying up voter lines? she’s gonna be a piece of cake to crack!

Sounds to me like ED Hill is sorry that she was called on it and not that she siad it. Even said it in the manner she did.

I guess in her angst to get approval from Roger Ailes that she just lost her composure and forgot she was speaking about an American Presidential Candidate.

This is why I stopped watching FOX along time ago.

I don’t even have to tune in from time to time to see what they are saying. Because it is always exagerated enuendo, lies, propaganda, and simply egregous smear campaigns.
