The world is plenty aware of that, believe me… that’s why they’d have more confidence in an Obama admin. Ya see, when you righties shoot off your mouth about the rest of the world going to hell and we’re #1, well, the world used to laugh that off.
But since Bush started turning your flippancy into our foreign policy the world has been getting a little nervous.

The overwhelming problem in American government today is a gang of criminals who have seized the Executive and Judicial branches of government. This is bad. The administration merely uses a slavish Judicial branch to deflect any attempts at oversight.

So, there are now two BIG tasks. First, we need to vote out every neocon, Republicriminals, Bushite we can. Then, we have to hope that the new Executive and Legislative branches, united in a super-majority, can quickly fumigate the Judicial branch and restore impartiality to the one Branch which demands it at all costs.

I’m sure we all have misgivings. The Dems could fall to bickering amongst themselves, they could succumb to the temptation of real power, they could eff up in many ways. But, they will be different than Bushco and almost certainly better.

The messes Bushco has made require a fresh approach. And the Dems are the only other viable option. And if Obama does nothing else he could do much, to be acclaimed a great success, by careful choice of his Attorney General.

All well and good, but you Stealth Republicans, or Libertarians as you like to call yourselves, are corporatists at your core. You favor privatization and “Bottom Line” politics. As long as Right Wingers put corporations first over people, Socialism that emphasizes individuality will be the goal. Of course, Socialism that puts the government in total control is Communism, likewise Corporatism/Capitaism can easily become Fascism.

Essentially, the term “We The People” is what our goal should be. A government that is run by individuals and for individuals. Corporations can never be “For The People”, so as long as you Libertarians keep up the insane Privatization Mantra, you will not be taken seriously.

I remember my stepmother watching ET and Hard Copy when they were original. My how I laughed. Then, I realized that there were people who thought it was news!

I don’t know why it still amazes me that people can swallow the schlock. Tabloids have been popular since some clever bastard carved, “Essau kissed ______” on a piece of stone. I mean, Oprah freakin’ Winfrey is rich and powerful?

TV doesn’t need ratings and disclaimers for kids. It needs them for the mush-heads who vote despite their ignorance.

pete. you are right on with this. It’s gotten to the point where most anchors have stopped pretending they’re not biased. Instead of news, its more like propaganda camps. Pick the station that says what you want to hear. (and don’t forget to support the sponsors).

But, if they do choose Obama as the best candidate, the world approval would be nice for a change.

Maybe when Obama wins he can decide to ignore the warnings of the outgoing admin, ignore Osama, and say he’s tired of the U.S. ’swatting at flies’ and then squander any goodwill and political catchet the U.S. may have built up over the years on some personal vendetta…

Once Obama wins I expect to see prosecution of actual terrorists like bin Laden increase and persecution of pretend terrorists like librarians go down.
