Laura Ingraham tells Bill O’Reilly she’s been forced off the air.

On Tuesday, Fox News announced it will include right-wing radio host Laura Ingraham in “a rotating series of personalities” to host its 5:00 pm hour. Ingraham has more time to devote to TV, after apparently being forced off her radio show, at least temprorarily. Last week, she told fans on her website her absence from her radio show “is not of my choosing,” and gave further detail to Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly last night:

INGRAHAM: I’m bound by confidentiality, so I can’t — I can’t reveal more. I want to reveal more, but I can’t. My syndicator’s decision to take me off the air. I’m going to be back in radio. It’s not health-related. It’s not family related. And I didn’t walk off my show. … I would never voluntarily leave my show.

Watch it:

Ingraham should feel right at home at Fox, where she will join a group of other openly partisan conservatives. Ingraham will make her first stint as Fox host on Monday.

“It’s not health-related. It’s not family related.” It’s because she is a caustic, pathological hate-filled GOP shill with nothing to offer America but more GOP failure.

  2. ForTruth says:

Now why would her radio bosses force her off the air?

  3. VA Voter says:

She has a good show. I’m sure she will be back.

  4. ralph the wonder llama says:

No doubt this is because of librul censorship. Right, Righty Hack?

You’re probably correct; much like cancer, she’s difficult to eliminate entirely.

    Laura Bush & Laura Ingraham;

    C*NTS!

  10. StratRat says:

How can they shove all those caustic, unAmerican pundits into the same office without it immediately exploding in flames?

All that hate and bigotry must create a lot of pressure.

It was funny to hear this 40 something, unmarried and childless spinster espousing the virtues of family values.

    Funny stuff.

Reich-wingers are becoming increasing unpopular and are being rejected by America. The reich-wingers will continue to flock to Drugbaugh and Faux for their GOPig talking points. But, the rest of America will just laugh and point at the reich-wing imbeciles who are afraid of facts and reality.

The reich-wing GOPigs are going to be a permanent minority. Amen.

They are slowly being forced into a tighter circle of hate and bigoted propaganda sources, which will continue to get smaller as the 23%ers become the 15%ers.

  13. Leftside Annie says:

Yecch. Who wants to listen to that sh*t??

I mean, besides the frothing hate-filled reichwing fascist bigots, that is…

  14. Keith says:

David Brock used to be good friends with Laura Ingraham. He said she seldom read a newspaper and did not have a single book where she lived.

I thought she was taking E.D. Hill’s (Terrorist Fist Jab) slot on Fox TV.

  15. upside99 says:

Laura needs to have that bad face lift corrected. Her mouth has had a few too many tucks or too many Botox injections.

She looks like she could also have a brother named Mann Coultergeist.

  16. 5th Estate says:

So she must be one of the 80,000 who just lost their jobs recently, yes? As Bill’0 is always “looking out for the little guy” I expect there will be 79,999 other interviews to come in the next few months with all them, right?
I’m sure Fox will offer some of them part time gigs on the airwaves.

  17. RUCerious says:

    Hey! Laura!!

    Can you say SHITCANNED!!???

  18. Buckie Boy says:

Yeah, that’s right VA Voter, she had a great show for reichwing, subhuman, neanderturd, brown-shirting, jack-booting, scum sucking, knuckle-dragging, uneducated, lemmings.

Come November 7th how is Faux Snooze going to hire all the republican’ts that are going to be unemployed?

Upside 99: The reich-wing GOPigs are going to be a permanent minority. Amen.

The GOP has long represented a permanent minority, but its very effective policy of leveraging that permanent minority has provide power and influence disproportionate to their actual minority status on majority issues.

  21. RantingTommy says:

Republicans are so scared of everything, especially the truth.

    I think it comes from their primitive lizard-brains. They can only handle 2 possible positions: left/right, up/down, black/white, good/bad, republican/democrat, conservative/liberal.

It’s binary thinking. They are also very prone to fear, and therefore hate, the things that they do not understand (and that is a long list).

Ignorance breeds fear and fear breeds Republicans.

The backlash is building. Now is not a good time to be a Chimpy leg-humper.

  23. 5th Estate says:

    oh oh oh..!

So, Laura Ingraham was given the old ‘heave-ho’.
And she prositutes herself to the right-wing.
and she maves me heave when I listen to her.
So I guess that makes HER a Heave-Ho’! AM I RIGHT?

You’ve been a wunnerful audience, don;t forget to tip your waitress and there’s an ‘all you can eat’ buffet in the lobby!

  24. upside99 says:

    5th Estate,

I agree with you but I also think the pendulum will start to swing a bit as soon as a lot of these “Contract with Amurika” Repugs are voted out. There has to be some more intelligent, reasonable and compassionate conservatives out there, that will work to get back some of their party’s power.

  25. pete says:

BTW. Nice little dig at the New York Times. A great demonstration of the Reichwing propensity to disparage a source who has ever dared to disagreed with them.

Talk Radio’s Queen was honored last Saturday night with the Talkers Magazine Woman of the Year Award, soon after being locked out and replaced with guest hosts.

This is part of Laura’s Acceptance Speech: (you are going to love this)

“My producer including Tom Elliott who is here today. Then there are the radio giants such as Rush, Phil Don Imus, Sean Hannity and Phil Boyce who gave me great support along the way.”

“Whoops — I almost forgot — I want to thank those TV network execs at NBC and CBS who fired me all those years ago, without them I never would have gotten into radio in the first place.”

Which means the only TV Station that will take her is Fox. The rest fired her already. HAHAHA…

  31. A Patriot Acting says:

    Dr. Hussein Matt Says:
“Sadly, but comically, reich-wingers still “think” that Faux is indeed “fair and balanced”…”

On Countdown last night Olbermann had an interesting point on this. He said that at some news outlets their opinion of “balanced” means having on one side an opinion that is based in fact and on the other side an opinion based on lies and giving them both equal validity. Hence “balance”.

  32. Marie says:

    Well, isn’t that special?

yeah, well then they will need to drive the nutjobs out of the GOP first. The trouble with ‘conservatives’ is the overarching philosophy–same with ‘liberals’ (the important diff being that liberals have a much better record for the common good than conservatives).

just found out where all the trolls went.

    They put out donuts.

  36. mikey51 says:

I can’t believe the vitriol I am reading on this board. Such intolerance! Such vile hatred!

Y’all talk of backlash occuring against conservative talk radio? Right. I heard the same tripe when Clinton was elected. You can see how that went over. Put BO in the White House and you will see an explosion of conservative talk radio like never before.

Then you will see the Fairness Doctrine become law and conservatives will be taken off the air. Wonder who’ll be next?

    “In Germany, they came first for the Communists, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist;
    And then they came for the trade unionists, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist;
    And then they came for the Jews, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew;
And then . . . they came for me . . . And by that time there was no one left to speak up.” Pastor Martin Niemöller circa 1943

  37. ralph the wonder llama says:

mikey51 obviously doesn’t understand the concept of the “Fairness Doctrine“:

The Fairness Doctrine was a United States FCC regulation requiring broadcast licensees to present controversial issues of public importance in a manner deemed by the FCC to be honest, equitable, and balanced.

So either mikey51 is confused, or he’s acknowledging that righty talk is not honest. We certainly know it’s not equitable or balanced.

Or maybe he’s just recognizing that conservative ideas cannot survive an honest, equitable and balanced examination alongside liberal ones. They can only survive in the hothouse of righty talk.

  38. Leftside Annie says:

Oh, lord. Is it just me, or are the flarking trolls getting stupider every day???

  39. Leftside Annie says:

    …honest, equitable, and balanced….

Obviously, Ralphie, that leaves out ALL conservatives. They just can’t do honest, equitable OR balanced.

  40. alphainfinityomega says:

    “mikey51 Says:”

    Ahhhhh, who cares???

    _AIO_

  41. mikey51 says:

Right. And just who will make that decision as to what is honest, equitable and balanced? What ever became of free speech?

Sorry, Ralphie, but if you think that the FD won’t be a tool to shut up opposition by the party in power, you are truly naive.

  42. pete says:

Well jeepers, Mikey. When an unspanked frat boy commits great crimes in our name, to the detriment of our nation and the world, I get a little cheesed. And, I have plenty of vitriol left for the insane “pundits” who seem Hell bent on worsening every crisis we face through the utilization of tyrannical propaganda.

BTW. If you think the “fairness doctrine” compares to the constitutional violations of Bushco? You need more help than a blog can give you.

  43. mikey51 says:

Annie, who can do honest equitable and balanced? We all have our points of view and all tend to belittle the opinions of those with whom they disagree. Especially if you give them an audience.

Anyway, trust me, folks. Laura Ingraham will be back on the air sooner than you can imagine. Obviously sooner than you want.

  44. ralph the wonder llama says:

    mikey51 Says:

Sorry, Ralphie, but if you think that the FD won’t be a tool to shut up opposition by the party in power, you are truly naive.

Ahhh, and here we have the hallmark of righty debate — argue not based on empirical evidence or logic, but based on the fears that drive one’s lizard brain to protect itself.

Case in point — we had to invade Iraq because Saddam was going to drop a mushroom cloud on us.

Or, we have to suspend habeus corpus because the detainees in Gitmo are too dangerous to put on trial — they’ll blink signals to outside operatives.

Yep, fear is a powerful motivator. In fact, the only thing that really dissipates it is education. Information. Fear feeds on ignorance.

  45. mikey51 says:

So, Pete, would you consider Al Franken, Randi Rhodes and Jeanine Garafolo to be fair, balanced and honest commentators, not Hell bent on worsening every crisis, yada yada, yada?

  46. pete says:

Hey mikey. Check out some of the video on this site and then tell me “fair equitable and balanced” can’t be done. I have a feeling that you aren’t old enough to remember when news and editorial were strictly separated. PBS is far from perfect, but, they are closer than any cable network.

    http://www.pbs.org/newshour/

  47. mikey51 says:

Ralphie, you are the one who doesn’t understand. I am not hinting that Dimocrats in power would abuse a Fariness Doctrine, whoever is in power would.

Let’s not talk about invading Iraq unless we are ready to discuss lobbing cruise missiles into aspirin plants.

  48. ralph the wonder llama says:

Well, at least mikey admits that he doesn’t consider “honest, equitable and balanced” to be possible. No wonder he’s against re-enshrining those values in the licenses for broadcasters to use our public airwaves.

I don’t care if Laura Ingraham comes back on the air. Wingnut talkers have gotten to the point where they’re doing our side more good than yours. Just like wingnut politicians. The first contribution you guys have actually made to the common good was getting so unhinged that only the most hardcore regressives would buy what you’re selling.

I couldn’t tell ya since I’ve never listened to any of them. The only talk radio I listen to is local.

  51. mikey51 says:

Pete, I am likely old enought to be your father.
PBS is certainly better than cable. Not perfect, but better. But why stop there? They’re better at separating news from commentary than the big 3 as well.

I am not an apologist for Fox, or as y’all like to call it, Faux. I like that. It’s been true ever since the Saudi’s took it over. Faux pretends to be conservative, and does a very poor job of it. For that matter, I am not an apologist for Republicans, either. Both parties left me years ago. My only hope and prayer is that 4 years of BO will give rise to a true conservative party to replace the GOP.

  52. ralph the wonder llama says:

    mikey51 Says:
Ralphie, you are the one who doesn’t understand. I am not hinting that Dimocrats in power would abuse a Fariness Doctrine, whoever is in power would.

Then why did reagan dismantle it, instead of just abusing it? It worked pretty well up until that time.

Let’s not talk about invading Iraq unless we are ready to discuss lobbing cruise missiles into aspirin plants.

Seriously? You’re comparing a single cruise missile strike to a five-year-and-counting war of choice?

You’re comparing a politically costly but militarily efficient action to a politically profitable but economically devastatingly costly invasion?

You’re comparing a couple hundred million dollars in hardware to 3 TRILLION and over 4000 lives???

Seriously? Man, you have got weaker shit than I thought.

  53. mikey51 says:

    Gee, Buckie, that’s mature.

  54. mikey51 says:

Iraq politically profitable? That’s funny. Tell that to Bush. Were it not for Congress, his approval ratings would be lower than any political person or body in the history of public approval polling. At least not snce Nixon.

  55. pete says:

    mikey51 Says:

Pete, I am likely old enought to be your father.

I might surprise you there. I have a pair of long-johns that’s old enough to buy booze, LOL! And, you are absolutely right, PBS is the best outfit left for separating news and commentary. And identifying the interests of commentators.

And, though we might see different paths and results, I agree that America MUST begin depolarizing and moving towards a stable center.

  56. pete says:

Sorry to jump the gun on you ralph.

Mikey. The reaction to 9/11 gave Bush a rubber stamp. In addition to pursuing military action Bushco used that rubber stamp to make a sweeping power grab. The power they grabbed is what has allowed them to deflect oversight to such a great extent. True, they aren’t great criminals and their greed exposed them, but, they aren’t shackled to a wall either.

They have enjoyed a ride like few before them. All their friends are “set for life” and, if they can avoid prosecution, they will ride into the sunset with pallets of cash. I think it’s safe to say that the invasion of Iraq has paid off quite well for the principle actors. And I seriously doubt they give a rip about average Republicans. They got theirs, screw everyone else.

  57. ralph the wonder llama says:

No problem, pete. i’ve composed two replies to mikey, and both of them have vanished in the ether.

    You said it better, anyway.

  58. ralph the wonder llama says:

What I was going to say was, if it weren’t for the Invasion of Iraq, and Bush promoting himself as a “war president”, mikey would be whining about President Kerry right now.

    I’d call that “politically profitable”.

  59. Leftside Annie says:

Mikey – as long as the ratio of conservative talk to liberal talk is 90-to-1 (which it is now), you ain’t got no room to complain.

    Moron.

  60. barfly says:

    mikey51 Says:

Anyway, trust me, folks. Laura Ingraham will be back on the air sooner than you can imagine. Obviously sooner than you want.

Trust you? That’s rich. I couldn’t care less when the harpy’s back on the air. Only little nebbishes listen to her, anyway.

  61. mikey51 says:

Owww, Barfly, that’s cutting. Little nebishes. I’m bleeding all over the keyboard.

Annie, I’m not complaining about Laura being off the air. I can’t hear her where I work anyway. AM signals not liking steel buildings and all.

Now, check it out, y’all, Annie has hit it right on the head. Conservative talk shows outnumber liberal ones 90 – 1. The market speaks. Conservative radio would not exist if no one listened to it. (Yeah, don’t bother to say it, we’re all ignorant troglodytes. it’s okay, I wear my trog threads with pride.)

  62. Leftside Annie says:

It’s not that simple, you conservative retard.

The market is NOT free. The vast majority of radio/tv stations, and even newspapers, are owned by a handful of giant corporations – all of whom have ties to the Bush administration and/or to the military/industrial complex (GE, which owns NBC and MSNBC, for example, is a defense contractor).

All that aside, my local progressive station is owned by Clear Channel – that bastion of conservatism – and I’m sure they aren’t providing liberal/progressive programming out of the goodness of their hearts or any desire to be fair.

They’re doing it BECAUSE IT’S PROFITABLE. Get used to it, troggie, because you’re going to see more and more of it.

  63. mikey51 says:

Hey, Hussein, nowhere did I defend Fox. I never said they were fair balanced or whatever. In fact, I said they sold out to the Saudi’s.

If you’re gonna slam me, at least read what I’m posting and not stretch your puny imagination by making up lies about me.

  64. mikey51 says:

Annie, I hope I do hear more liberal programming. It’s amusing and for the most part, liberal talk show hosts are easier to bait.
My dear, I am by no means a moron. My opinions are, for tne most part, arrived at by critical examination of the facts as presented by all sides. Right or wrong as they may be, they are mine. I allow for the possibility that I am wrong, and am wrong at least as often as I am right. i think that batting 500 is pretty good for an old guy.
Now, you say that liberal talk radio is profitable. In your market it may be. Clear Channel has a good feel for the pulse of their local communities. They didn’t get to where they are by developing a one size fits all type of programming.(well, the last year or so, Clear Channel was in a very enviable position, anyway).
You are absolutely correct when you point out the communications oligarchy (see, even troglodytes have vocabulary). However, bear in mind that for the most part, FOX INCLUDED, news has a decidedly elitist, alarmist tone to it, especially on the national level. Consider the news content. The next time you watch your local or national news, take a timer to how much time is spent in teasers telling you what is coming up next. I know why this is done, and it is purely economic. They don’t want you to get bored. If they did hard news instead of alarmist yellow crap, they wouldn’t have to worry.
    But I digress.
I guess I will have to just remain a conservative retard.

It’s been fun, but I have to get back to the real world and make some more obscenely filthy lucre so my taxes can fund more homeless drug addicts. Think I’ll run one over with my SUV on the way home.

  65. mikey51 says:

By the way, sweet Annie, I never said the market was free. Nothing is. TANSTAAFL.

  66. ralph the wonder llama says:

So, mikey, you still wanna compare Clinton’s surgical strikes in the Sudan to Bush’s invasion of Iraq?

    2. I read Bonfire. I’d say something like I couldn’t relate, but you’re probably so worked up over #1 that the subtlety would be lost on you, so i won’t say anything.
    3. I donated one week of my vacation sweating in Port Arthur Texas last week helping those unfortunate elderly poor who lost everything in the hurricane three years ago. I happen to have been a skilled carpenter in a former life and utilize my skills every quarter to help people get whole again. And I do it in conjunction with my Church. (Gaaah!!! He does claim to be Christian. At least I don’t call ladies “c*nts”)

This is definitely my last post here. sorry to intrude on your little gabfest you got going on. Obviously no one is interested in a little reasoned discourse. I had hoped to find a little tolerance on something purporting to be progressive. it’s not that I don’t like the heat, it’s just that your heat is boring.

Here’s wishing you and yours a happy life free from the pain of independent thought, reasoning and logic.

  70. dbadass says:

  71. ralph the wonder llama says:

Yeah, mikey. You make a “joke” about running over a “homeless drug addict” and I’m the one with no sense of humor. Right.

Explain to me what was funny about your “joke”?

You seem to know an awful lot about me and my psychology, so explain how I’d get “so worked up over” you not having an SUV (even though you claimed to have an SUV — oh, that was a “joke”, wasn’t it?)

I just don’t understand why someone with the Christian goodness in his heart that you claim to have would make a joke about running over a homeless person with his SUV. Is that some kind of satire of “whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers” kind of thing?

Anyway, please explain these puzzlements before you go forever, mikey. I just don’t get right-wing humor and I’d really like to understand. I know you’ll find it in your giving Christian heart. Who knows? Maybe your insight will lead me to The Way!

    Thanks.

So I take it that johnsom does not belive that the media is controlled by the left but instead the right. Clearly his market forces and clever ideas must indicate this or does this premise just apply to radio?
