Waxman threatens contempt resolution for EPA’s Johnson and OMB’s Dudley.»

The AP reports that House Oversight Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-CA) has threatened to hold EPA administrator Stephen Johnson and OMB official Susan Dudley in contempt of Congress “for their repeated refusal to provide subpoenaed documents to the Committee. The subpoenaed documents involve the White House role in EPA’s ozone standards and rejection of California’s motor vehicle emission standards.” The Committee is scheduled to meet on June 20 to consider the resolution.

So, whatever happened with the threatened contempt charge against Rove?

Is anyone afraid of this enabling, toothless congress? The nancy-boys in the House and the bend-like-a-reid willows in the Senate.

Looks like justice and accountability are “off the table.”

    Oooooh…

    More talk…
    More letters…

    Still NO ACTION!

Oh Baby! The hits just keep coming!

Pretty soon, the headlines will read: “BushCo DIDN’T Lie or Cheat” That would be news!

  4. Game of Life Says:

When it’s about the house’s pay raises, they move lightening fast.

  5. RUCerious Says:

    Yo! Henry.

There is no threaten, there is only do.

  6. Jack Jett Says:

I love Henry Waxman. He and Wexler are the only ones on the ball.

I really hope that Obama does not let the crooks walk away after he becomes President.

    They must be held accountable.

  7. Nevar Says:

There certainly are a lot of contemptible people Congress has to deal with…

  8. gallery Says:

Get in line folks. I hear they give you ice cream cones if you defy them long enough.

  9. pasnell Says:

Is there a single person in the Bush administration that obeys the law? Do any of them care what people think of THEM?

I agree with Richard Clark…..These people who can’t remember and lie under oath and refuse to obey the law should NOT be allowed to work a regular job.

If the company takes tax dollars….they should NOT be allowed to hire these people…….If the company requires security clearances…..they should NOT be allowed to hire these people…

Let’s bring morality and honesty BACK to the American people..

Another boy/man who cried “WOLF”! I’m so sure everyone is trembling in their boots!

It’s way, way, way past time for letters and threats! I have a suggestion: Don’t threaten ANYMORE! Just DO IT!

    PEACE

  11. phred42 Says:

When are people going to realize that Waxman, Conyers and the rest of the barking dogs have no teeth.

This is Lucy holding the Football for Charlie Brown - AGAIN!

Don’t you know by now what’s going to happen?

  12. nofltwlt Says:

I know that the Dems, especially Waxman and Conyers, are much more intelligence than any member of the GOP. I assume they are issuing these contempt charges and will act on them after McCain turns to dust in November of this year.

These idiot GOP members, this would be all of them, may be just too smug.

  13. pete Says:

With each of these endless incidents of contempt for oversight, I become more convinced that our Representatives are terrified of what Bushco can still do. With Bushbots in charge of the Judicial branch, it would be very easy to convince someone it’s against their best interests to “interfere”.

  14. Nevar Says:

I agree, pete, the Bushbots can still suck a lot with them as they swirl down the drain….

  15. upside99 Says:

Environment! We don’t need no Damn Environment!

All it does, is get in the way of making LOTS of M O N E Y!!!!!

Since it’s Friday evening, I was wondering if the idea of blogging from a t!tty bar would be ok.

Getting engaged in a good cause, while really enjoyin’ the freaks of nature.

    GO WAXMAN!

  17. Paul W Says:

While I support Waxman’s attempt to hold these crooks and liars accountable, what are the odds these subpoenas will be obeyed? This administration has nothing but contempt for the rule of law, not to mention the people they’ve sworn to serve.

  21. flavorino Says:

It’s almost like the Bush Administration says you can take your laws and rules and stick ‘em up your a**.

  22. Yankeluh Says:

So, another threat. Threats are a dime a dozen. Let’s see some contempt charges before one more day goes by. Have the Democrats become eunuchs?

  23. jpopplewell Says:

Right Henry. Maybe you can gum them to death.
