  2. LibertyLover says:

Question is… Will The AG turn them over? He hasn’t honored any contempt citations from Congress so far.

  3. McWars says:

This development has moved Mukasey to temporarily stop picking his nose and plug in his shredder.

Impeachment is off the table. This is Nancy Pelosi, House4 News. Back to you.

  4. And Yet... says:

Get ready for a giant raspberry from Mike Mukasey. Why should he turn over anything to Waxman & HOC when so far they’ve been all bark & no bite?

  5. upside99 says:

A District Court judge has already ruled that the WH doesn’thave to turn over “lost” emails to ANYONE, per the CREW request denial.

Nothing will change til January ‘09.

  6. po says:

cool. another subpoena for the Unitary Executive to ignore. Waxman could have begun the process in say 2006. Might have gotten through the first round of appeals before Bush leaves office. Given the timing, why bother issuing the subpoena at all. A day headline and some work for some low level staffers?

  7. Max-1 says:

    .

    Hummm…

Now why would Waxman want to know about who outed whom…?

What does it mean when Mukasey acts in contempt?

  9. raynman says:

I wonder is the Current Regime is setting all sorts of records for the contempt with which they hold the Congress by ignoring repeated requests for some level of accountibility.

    Too little too late?

Congress is also guilty for unconstitutionally taking impeachment off the table. Could we please at least start the impeachment proceedings as is supposed to be and get a good look at those in Congress voting against it, if only for the public record?

  11. Buckie Boy says:

FBI – Oh, those documents, those were shredded ages ago, anything else I can help you with?

Waxman – Crap, too late again.

FBI – Yep, you should have been paying attention 6 years ago.

    Waxman – sigh….

  12. theswan says:

Issued a subpoena? What’s that? Those only work on law abiding folk.

  13. Bob says:

Come to find out that all they did was talk baseball. Not surprisingly, both W and Dick were wrong in their predictions of who would win the pennant. Dick had to be convinced the Dodgers had, in fact, moved to Los Angeles.

Executive Shredder Privelige being used in 5, 4, 3, …

  16. octamethyl says:

I absolutely abhor and loathe Bush & Co. as much as anyone else here, but am beginning to get annoyed by such posturing. With each empty impeachment / subpoena, the movement to expose and imprison these criminals loses credibility and momentum. We need a more concerted effort to bring boosh, rove, cheney, and the other horsemen of the apocolypse to justice.

  17. Wayne says:

As Long as Impeachment is “off the table”, Bushco will continue to ignore subpoenas and contempt citations, just like they have been.

    Checkmate, America loses.

  18. SP Biloxi says:

Great move by Waxman since Scotty McClellan will be tesifying this Friday. I am not holding my breath on Mukasey of turning over FBI interviews of Bush and Cheney [Bush and Cheney were of course not under oath]. He will use his usual stall tactic.

  19. tarazan says:

    Mr.Waxman: Show us the money,please.

You have issued many subpoenas in the last few months..but nothing happened yet…we are still waiting.!!
What happened to Condi Rice Subpoena…?!!
Unless something done about ‘Executive Privilege’, Waxman’s subpoenas will go nowhere and will produce nothing.
Looks like time is running out for Democrats to do anything. They have waited too long since they won the elections of November 2006.
    GOOD LUCK

  20. Marie says:

If legal proceedings were put on hold until the Obama administration, Obama would be in a tough position. If he pursued all of the charges against Bush&Co, investigated everything, subpoenaed everything, held hearings, etc., he would be accused of abandoning his progressive platform, choosing to pursue revenge instead. So, the investigations all have to be started NOW – all of these things have to get rolling down the road toward indictment of the criminals, with the increasing public knowledge of their crimes so that the Obama administration won’t appear as merely vengeful.
So there are numerous subpoenaes out there and between Leahy, Conyers and Waxman, they should be pursued.
