In fact, mandatory emission standards have proven successful in many cases. For example, one prominent environmental study found “a marked overall decrease in emissions of pollutants subject to mandatory federal regulations” from 1991 to 2002.

You just don’t “get it”. In Bizarro World, up is down, black is white, and the Republicans are the best defenders the environment ever had.

US GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions are increasing while most countries in Europe are reducing theirs to meet Kyoto-targets. Some are failing but most like the two largest economies/polluters in Europe UK and Germany are reducing their emissions

UK GHG emissions 1990-2005 down 15%, from 771 to 657 million tonnes

Hey Rodgerdraftdoger, as much as hate to even patronize fools such as yourself by talking to you, i wonder if you have any further information about this alleged “nucklear survey”..what was the exact questiion asked? Im going to go out on a limb and speculate that this poll was probably commisioned by some nuclear power profiteer and was probably worded something like “would you support more use of nuclear power IF it would cut your gas prices in half”? I’m also guessing the people in the survey were NOT asked if THEY were willing to live near a nuclear power plant themselves.

Typical american attitude..sounds GREAT!…in someone else’s neighborhood..
