For what its worth, I just sent a letter to the NYT (Public Editor and Letters) asking why they haven’t covered Taguba’s charges.

Maybe a few more people could do the same.

As far as I’m concerned, their silence on this is hardly better than having allowed Judith Miller to print all those lies that helped get is into Iraq.

As I said on the ThinkFast thread earlier today, the growing number of people who’ve been on the inside of this whole mess (either currently or previously) who’ve publicly condemned it should at least say something. One person can be dismissed as a crank or as a “disgruntled former employee” — but the larger the number becomes, the harder it becomes (or at least, the harder it should become) to dismiss the allegations, especially when they include a member of the top brass like Taguba.

That being said, I don’t think Taguba should get a pass since it was he who filed the report blaming then-Brigadier General (now Colonel) Janis Karpinski for what happened at Abu Ghraib. The information that has been made public over the last few months would certainly seem to back up her claims that the Bush administration used her as a convenient scapegoat — and personally, I’m still inclined to suspect that they might not have done this to her had she been a man.

A president should never be refered as “Dear Leader”… it takes the engines of democracy away, when governements are not held accountable for their actions and the their words are taken as absolute. I love democracy. Yours has gone down the drain, thanks to your “Dear Leader”. And he IS A WAR CRIMINAL! If The United States of America ever gets serious about restoring its international image, they have to prossecute this administration for WAR CRIMES. Around the globe people are aware of it. If this criminals walk away as though nothing happened… well, ‘god help america’!
They commited WAR CRIMES. This is a very serious matter! Bush, Chenney, Perle, Wolfowitz, Rice, Gates, Powell, Rumsfeld, etc. They all have to face an international court for what they have done. Many people died. American, Iraquis and Afehgan alike. They lost their lives because of these imoral criminals. HAGUE 2009. Plus, the truth about 9/11 has yet to come out. Too many ununswered questions pointing out to an inside job. Where are the 84 videos of the Pentagon alledged attack? Why they are not made public yet? What are they hiding? How can the CIA destroy videos of the interrogations? Destroying evidence is a federal crime! They are trying to hide their WAR CRIMES! These are very dark clouds haging over a country that used to be GREAT. Not anymore… since the stolen elections of 2000. How can a TRAITOR like Rove still be free??? Can a normal worker, a tax payer ignore a subponea? The people should be surrounding Congress and the WH and demanding accountability. Now, the enablers (DEMOCRATS) are caving in to the telecommunication companies imunity bull. These companies commited a federal crime! I’ve thought for a long time that a democratic prez would’ve been impeached a long time ago for doing the same things. Rs would’ve pushed that through to ensure a re-election was impossible. I don’t think a (D) would’ve had 35 to 60 articles against him, though. Of course, he would’ve only had half the time to commit those ‘high crimes’.
