You see, Bush/Cheney handed over to Karl Rove command of the federal response to Katrina after New Orleans flooded, and so many people became stranded on rooftops. Up until the flooding occurred, the FEMA command center in Baton Rouge was in charge of seeing that federal disaster relief was rushed into the disaster zone.

Karl Rove, being the ultimate heartless partisan political hack that he is, saw the flooding of New Orleans as a way to smear Louisiana’s Democratic governor, Blanco, and New Orleans’ Democratic mayor, Nagin, while also scoring points for his Republicans masters.

A plan was hatched.

BushCo (Karl Rove) demanded that Gov. Blanco hand over control of her state’s national guard units to them, essentially federalizing Louisiana, giving BushCo (Karl Rove, Chertoff, Rumsfeld) control over Louisiana’s and New Orleans’ streets. (Probably to give Blackwater mercenaries a chance).

Gov. Blanco refused, as any governor would to such an unprecedented demand. She rushed what national guard units she had available (with so many over in Iraq) and even asked other states for assistance in providing security and disaster relief.

In the “mean” time, BushCo (Karl Rove, etal.) withheld federal disaster relief from New Orleans, going so far as to block anyone else trying to rescue any of the dying people in New Orleans…all in an attempt to blackmail Gov. Blanco into ceding control of Louisiana over to BushCo (Karl Rove). (Note: this nefarious demand was not made of the Republicans governors in Mississippi and Alabama).

So, during those first critical days after New Orleans flooded and people were dying, BushCo (Karl Rove) stopped federal aid from getting to New Orleans and started a smear campaign against Gov. Blanco and Mayor Nagin, even as these two were desperately trying to save the lives of their fellow citizens without the federal government backing up their efforts, with BushCo (Karl Rove, etal.) actually blocking their efforts at every turn.

So, besides Karl Rove outing Valerie Plame Wilson and getting any number of her covert contacts killed overseas, he also participated in/spearheaded a BushCo scheme during Katrina that contributed to the deaths of countless of our fellow citizens in New Orleans. Doesn’t that make him an accessory to murder?

I still hope that the international court will take care of what our own politicians are too timit to do —- prosecute these g-d criminals.
However, if the international court proceeds where the US government will not – that isn’t going to look too good for us and our system of justice is it? Buch&Co would surely be found guilty, but our integrity would still be in the toilet.

But I really feel sorry for the folks in other countries who worked with / for her. The fact that she was outed puts them and their families and friends in jeopardy.
