I can’t believe I left out “jail,” since every time I think of the Bush administration, I think of jail as being the only fitting place for these criminally-insane right-wingers who’ve done so much damage to our democracy, and gotten so many people here in the U.S. and overseas in Iraq killed and injured unnecessarily.

Just the fact that retroactive immunity is even being mentioned indicates to me that the Bush administration and certain telecom companies are guilty as sin, that they committed criminal acts and are now trying to cover up what they did by getting some fools/lapdogs in Congress to give all of them a belated get-out-of-free card.

The last resort of criminally-insane right-wing rogues is stripping “rule of law” judicial oversight from consideration, which I’m certain Al Capone and Mafia heads would have loved for Congress to do for them.

i predict, even if this passes, it will set the lawsuits back a few years but wont totally derail them. lets hope the statute of limitations hasnt passed by that time, we can put some people in jail also

Yes, we’ve been had, but it’s been going on forever. There’s a different playing field for those who have inherited power than for the rest of us. It’s the rare individual who is able to break into that group – through the luck of the draw.

Why would certain people need immunity – total immunity?

Why did certain people need illegal wiretapping 7 months prior to 9/11? Did they need to get the goods on congress in advance of (or during or after) … some event? And why has Sibel Edmonds, who wants to testify, been gagged for nearly 7 years?
