Maybe they were miserable because President Carter pointed out that we had an energy crisis (we know better now, don’t we?), and we had residual inflation which started during Nixon’s term (thank God we got THAT problem solved). You have to factor in the more than 4100 DEAD, thousands more permanently maimed mentally and/or physically in a war into which the nation was lied . $4.00+ /gal gasoline, skyrocketing food prices, 47 million+ without health insurance, even more under insured, more than half the bankruptcies due to medical bills, massive fraud resulting from semi privatizing of Medicare, failure to address climate warming, New Orleans still devastated, a useless FDA allowing contaminated food to reach the retail market, eviscerating of the U.S. Constitution, hacked voting machines, stock market tanking, serial lying sociopaths as president and vice president, the greatest maldistribution of wealth since the Gilded Age, rampant voter suppression That’s just for starters…

We saw the Democratic strategy in action during the Clinton administration in which we actually DID foil several attempts at terrorist attacks. Where was bush when President Clinton’s advisers tried to inform him of national security concerns? On vacation and unavailable. They weren’t interested, for some reason. Meanwhile several of them actually commented in 1992 (in the PNAC treatise, which you can still find on the web) that the only way they could effectively colonize the middle-east would be to have “another Pearl Harbor” to sell public opinion on the idea. Somehow they even managed to be in office when that actually happened. GREAT strategy!

By the way, there was ONE MAJOR terrorist attack on U.S. soil during the Clinton administration. It happened in Oklahoma City and the terrorist was a liberal-bashing Republican. Another example of history being biased against conservative opinion.

This time around let us actually investigate.
