Trolls, any thoughts? Care to jump in here and tell us about how Obama is the most lazy Senator or some such bs? Anything?

Oh, and when McCain did vote, ie. during 2007, 95% of the time it was in lockstep with GWB.

Suck on that trolls, your feeble and tragic ideology and party is falling apart before your very eyes. Popcorn at the ready.

  2. judyinnm Says:

Considering his record, do we really want him to be voting in the Senate?

And if Obama is not going to lead, and suppoort Dodd’s & Feingold’s filibuster of FISA, he needn’t show up again, either.

  3. Crusty Old Bastard Says:

WTF difference does it make? He wouldn’t have got it right or remembered anyway. We would be a lot better off if every one of the Rethug Senators could make the same claim. Who need the bastards?

Poor Lock_Box seems to prove that his failure of a candidate is going to lose, and lose badly. Don’t worry, LB, Pres. Obama will bring about the change for which Americans are searching! ;-)

  10. liberal traitor Says:

Thank you rogerse, you made my point for me. The talking point I’ve heard about Obama being a lazy Senator who never votes on anything has now been shot to hell. They are both on the campaign trail, so missing votes (within reason) is perfectly legitimate, they can’t be in two places at once they are human.

    McCain: Obama: (your numbers)
missed 367 votes missed 259 votes
    (61.4%) (43.3%)
during current Congress during current Congress

So I guess that means that Obama has a better attendance record vote-wise than McCain does, doesn’t it. Or am I wrong?

oops sorry, that was lock box. You’re all the same anyway, I get you mixed up.

We’ve been told for years that “being president is hard work” so I guess we need to realize that running for president is “hard work”, too.

Let’s face it, having McCain there to vote only adds one more to the “whatever Bush wants” column.

    PEACE

  13. liberal traitor Says:

By the way, speaking of Obama vs. McCain there, LB, what are your thoughts on the McCain campaign’s apparent election financing fraud, the huge number of lobbyists on his campaign staff vs. Obama’s actually publicly financed campaign (i.e. via small individual donations) and his immediate policy once he won the nom of cutting out all PAC and Lobbyist money from the Democratic party?

    Any thoughts?

hey phred42, try to keep up with the class ok? We’ve already established that Obama has missed a bunch of votes as well. He’s also running for president which takes up a lot of his time, same goes for McCain. Obama is close to half, McCain is close to 2/3s, and that is the point, McCain has missed more. End of story.

Obama has also missed a lot of votes. As has Hillary Clinton. We expect a lot of missed votes from any Senator who is campaigning to be President.

The point being made here is that McCain’s voting record in the Senate is significantly WORSE than the other Senators who have been running for President. Furthermore, McCain has missed several key votes, while Obama and Clinton have both managed to get back to Washington for votes on critical issues, or votes that were expected to be close.

Perhaps it’s that younger Senators can just move faster?

Not only that, misshusseinmolly, but Obama’s primary campaign lasted three months beyond McCain’s. One might expect that, since running for President takes one away from normal Senate business, Obama would have missed more votes than McCain. Even Senator Clinton shold have missed more.

    But no.

  27. liberal traitor Says:

    mocha:

Speaking of Iowa, it’s funny they never mention that the elected officials in those flooded areas asked McCain NOT to come during the flood (Obama went before it hit in Illinois) because of the security headaches a high profile visit like that imposes upon an already stressed and stretched police force. He went anyway.

Don’t try to pretend to be an expert on something you know nothing about. Voting present is a strategic move, and is usually done when your party has enough votes to pass a bill, but there is something in the bill you don’t like. It is a little protest against your own party, without actually killing a bill you support overall.

lock_box is probably most familiar with the gastrointestinal system - especially the final section.

  88. Fred Says:

I think lock box is just a kid craving attention. Time to go out to the playground and get with the other kids and quit bothering the adults.

Besides Al Gore will help straighten things out when your bunch is shown the exit.

    lock_box Says:

What political leaning were you before College?
did you have a preference? or did you really not care that much?

I shouldn’t bother with a reply. But, my answer will once again show your assumptions to be ridiculous.

My family was very political. My parents discusses politics all the time. He was a Nixon Republican and she was a Kennedy Democrat. I greatly admired Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King and Eugene McCarthy, so I became a liberal. In 1976, the first presidential election in which I was old enough to vote, I cast a ballot for Eugene McCarthy, who ran as an independent. That fall, I was a freshman in college, and the “quacked out professors” hardly had time to “indoctrinate me”. In 1980, I voted for former Republican John Anderson, who also ran as an independent. So, you can see the “quacked out professors” did not make me more liberal. In fact, in the 80’s, I was foolish enough to vote Libertarian, until I finally began to understand the dark side of libertarianism.

So, you can see that you premise is wrong, at least in my case.

Now go spew you anti-education somewhere else, dumbass.

Just stopped by to lend a hand, but you folks are doing just fine taking out the trash today.
Are Wednesdays ‘double pay per post day’ at the RNC?

Only if you send in the cereal boxtop coupon from your frosted chocoloate sugar bombs!

  91. pete Says:

After the results gained by Bushco, the most anti-intellectual administration in U.S. history, we need all the input from “librul perfessors” we can get. With luck, we might be able to undo the majority of the damage in 50 years or so. Some things, however, are permanently FUBAR.

Back on topic, I have always felt that people running for higher office should be required to resign or appoint a proxy. The day to day operation of the Legislature should take precedence over personal ambition.

  92. Marie Says:

    I guess he forgot.

  93. celtic cynic Says:

Right, Marie. He forgot where the senate is and what he’s supposed to do there.

  94. Wayne Says:

Wow, over 100 posts and most is troll chit or response to troll chit, impressive.
    =P

  95. backup Says:

Is this for their entire Senate tenure, or just for this Congressional term? Even if it’s just for the 110th Congress, I’m still impressed there are nine of them with perfect records.

missmolly. I think just for the 110th congress. Here’s the link:

  98. sectionop92 Says:

McCain is missing votes to go get the votes of people who were members of the “Lollipop Guild”. Mashed veggies and tasty puddings with “like-minded” folk are enough reason for Johnnie ToughTalk to ignore his Constitutional Duty, to you know…vote on policies that shape our nation.

So as president, will someone sign his name using a rubber stamp when he’s taking a seven-hour nap?

  99. neopro Says:

keep in mind that many of the votes take place in the later part of the afternoon….way past grampy mccains bedtime

Yes, probably the same person who does that for Bush now.

  101. sectionop92 Says:

I thought Bush didn’t sign his name because he got confused with the placement of E and O in his first name. That and he wants to use his favorite Crayola to sign it…and be allowed to color outside of that “pesky black line, because I have a creative side”.
