Earlier today, a roadside bomb “killed three service members and a local-national interpreter in a coalition convoy in eastern Afghanistan.” CNN reports that “[w]ith the deaths, the number of foreign forces in Afghanistan killed in June has reached 39, the highest monthly toll of the war.”

It wouldn’t have anything to do with the diversion of resources into Iraq, would it?
But, but, but……the surge is working!

There was an article on this subject in the morning paper, yes. And an article about Afghanistan claiming that Pakistan was responsible to an assassination attempt against Karzai. And an article about the total lack of accountability for all the money sent to Pakistan for anti-terrorism (yesterday’s paper).
June 26th, 2008 at 3:12 pm“If it bleeds, it leads.” Now that violence is up, Afghanistan is back in the news, just as Iraq disappeared from MSM coverage as violence decreased.
June 26th, 2008 at 3:13 pmBut, but, but, this is the happy, good times, joy-joy, everything is dandy war!!
June 26th, 2008 at 3:16 pmWho cares? Afghanistan is not a target rich environment.
June 26th, 2008 at 3:17 pmAfghanistan? Is that thing still around?
June 26th, 2008 at 3:37 pmWho cares? Afghanistan is not an oil rich environment.
There. Fixed it for you.
June 26th, 2008 at 3:37 pmSo, you’re calling our troops rapists and murderers. Thanks, once again, for proving that reich-wingers HATE our troops.
June 26th, 2008 at 3:38 pmHi Pussy for Life. Wanna tells us about the global climate hoax again?
June 26th, 2008 at 3:43 pmHey pussy posted that shit doesn’t answer the question now does it? Deal with the issue. 16 intelligence agencies see it differently. How do you explain that?
June 26th, 2008 at 3:47 pmWow, Crock Pot is sure a low-life, scum sucking, lockstep, brown-shirting, fascist, knuckle-dragging, neanderturd.
Too bad he doesn’ have any friends that it could spend more time with other than getting it’s 10 cents a post here.
Does it realize that it has the reasoning power of a rock?
Thought not.

June 26th, 2008 at 4:00 pmIsn’t this about dead American troops? The global warming issue is off-topic. These people have served honorably and, now, their sacrifice is being questioned? Military leaders in the theater have stated the reason for this situation - Iraq! It is truly time to support our troops where-ever they are fighting.
June 26th, 2008 at 4:02 pmTP moderators. the word appears in the context of a piece posted at npr and written by associated press writers. What is it with you people and that word?

No reason to be concerned, dba, this troll was purged on Tuesday for sub-human comments. Why it is allowed to re-emerge from the lagoon eludes me!

June 26th, 2008 at 10:44 pmI think McCain means the surge is working, in reverse. Then again, our colony of Iraq gets all the attention as Afghanistan is the 800 lbs. gorilla in the room the GOP wants everyone to ignore. I believe I heard that the latest entertainment in the Afghan theatre is a bunch of “Bonzo Goes to…” movies and copious amounts of Life magazines.
