House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-MI) issued a subpoena today to the Department of Justice for documents related to a variety of Bush administration scandals, including the Valerie Plame leak investigation, the U.S attorney scandal, the politicization of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, and the prosecution of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman. Read the full subpoena here.
Doesn’t Mucky have to comply with the subpoena, or can he thumb his nose at the Congress, again.
June 27th, 2008 at 4:32 pmBig Deal.
Let us know when you actually have the balls to arrest someone for ignoring you, Mr. Conyers.
June 27th, 2008 at 4:32 pm.
Q U E S T I O N:
When the Protectorate of the President, Mukasey, says no, who does CONyers turn to?
.
June 27th, 2008 at 4:33 pm(…ignoring the troll…)
Conyers is doing his job, which is what Mukasey SHOULD be doing. When you’ve got someone working for you that won’t do the job he’s been hired to do, you tell him that he’d better do his job or he’s FIRED!
June 27th, 2008 at 4:40 pmConyers (D-MI) issued a subpoena today to the DoJ for documents on a variety of Bush administration scandals…
Cripes, just how many 16 wheelers is that going to take, talk about a gas crisis, geez.
Where do you start? I’d sure hate and love to have that job.
June 27th, 2008 at 4:42 pmrogerse,
Even if what CONyers is doing is pointless(subpoena) what is the implication of the actions of the Administration that make this “pointless” in the first place?
Come on man, tell us how blocking an investigation, an OBSTRUCTION of JUSTICE, is a morally just move that deserves a defense. Tell us how criminally refusing a subpoena, (Meiers, Bolton, Rove) is even acceptable in a Nation that prides itself ON the Rule of Law. Or, is thumbing one’s nose at the law an admirable thing to do?
Please parse it for us…
.
June 27th, 2008 at 4:42 pmI think that if Congress had the “balls”, he could arrest even Mukasey. Congress is the Head Legislative body and has that power.
It’s the poeple who lack the political guts, or maybe it really would hurt the Dems more than help. Who knows? But, this close to taking back the WHite House, I doubt many want to see a Battle Royale over this.
June 27th, 2008 at 4:43 pmpointless, regardless.
Whew! That made me dizzy. Thanks.
June 27th, 2008 at 4:43 pmSomeone said it here before and I’ll repeat it again, unless he proves otherwise, rogerse supports criminals.

Of course he does. His entire last few years has been wrapped up in devotion to this criminal enterprise currently squatting in our WH. He is so invested in this cabal, that pretty much nothing will disuade him from supporting them.
It is sad because when his children ask him about this time in our history, he will have to inform them he was so frightened, he was willing to throw away their civil rights just for the benefit of hiding under a bed. His children will provide him with more grief than we ever could. Are you going to lie to your kids rogerse? Tell them that you would sell your soul to Bush for a few pennies of comfort?
That is what you have done, ya know…
June 27th, 2008 at 4:50 pmrogerse Says:
Come on, why can’t people see what conyers is really doing…he knows its pointless, regardless.
rog,
maybe people can see what
he’s doing and you can’t because
they’re smarter than you.
*
better get used to that.
regardless.
*
good luck.
:)
June 27th, 2008 at 4:51 pmSpoxlogic,
THAT battleroyale should have been waged years ago.
Better late than never, is what I say.
There IS no good time to commence an investigation on matters of TREASON. There never is. However that being the case, ignoring it does what, but legitimise TREASON as an acceptable way of dealing with inconvenient truths? Sweep it under the rug? Turn a blind eye/ear to the facts?
I want to see the Maverick defend this TREASON. I want to see his real coat.
.
June 27th, 2008 at 4:52 pmIts just getting old…eventually, no one will care, and conyers will still try.
But, don’t you care? It’s your country too.
June 27th, 2008 at 4:56 pmGet ‘em, Conters, you grandstanding tiger.

of course rog cares.
he’s here, isn’t he?
and when people can’t see
what he sees it bothers him.

keeps him awake at night.
(
right rog?
:)
June 27th, 2008 at 5:03 pmjoe cantwell,
Isn’t that why rogerse cowers under his bed at night? Because he does see it and is resigned to the fate it portends? That he’d rather forgo his Liberty, Freedom and Rights for a temporary sense of security(A BINKY)…? Then does he even deserve to call himself an American if he’s ready to disavow himself of the Rights, Freedoms and Liberties that define what it means to BE an American?
R E M E M B E R:
THEY(sic) HATE US FOR OUR FREEDOMS…
And so does rogerse.
.
June 27th, 2008 at 5:13 pm“Its just getting old…eventually, no one will care, and conyers will still try.”
I have cared, do care, and will continue to care. I care that the Constitution has been used as toilet paper by this administration. This administration must be held accountable for their crimes.

Just proving it’s the same old troll. Has done this on previous occasions, usually linking to gay pr0n. Apparently, he has a fixation on big tools and anole sex.
June 27th, 2008 at 5:34 pmHm…only 10 days to comply. Does this mean you mean it this time? No more whiny letters?
Tell me you found the keys to the Capitol Building Clink and you’re ready to use ‘em.
When you start to lose your nerve, ask:
WWARD? What would a republican do?
June 27th, 2008 at 6:52 pmpeople were called loonies and moonbats for years while they protested the viet nam war. They did not give up. Guess how that worked out. Conyers is right. Even you know that.
June 27th, 2008 at 7:16 pmIs Conyers up for re-election this year?
That’s where my inquiries would start.
As you know, when he was in the minority, he held “non-official” impeachment hearings for George W and his band of thieves.
Once he was in the majority impeachment went out the window. I have to ask why?
Could it be that now John Conyers is trying to cover his ass with all these investigations so he can be re-elected?
Just a thought.

I don’t know where you were but public opinion ended the viet nam war. Don’t forget tricky dicks bombing hanoi for 300 days….nixon was pres when kent state happened.
Back to the point. Conyers is right and you know it. Nothing else matters.
June 27th, 2008 at 8:10 pmTanqueray and Fred,
If I may intercede.
Did either one of you read “The Conyers Report: What Went Wrong In Ohio”?
I have an autoghraphed copy of that Conyers Report.
He submitted that book to print while the Democrats were in the minority.
Since then Conyers and Pelosi have been the biggest Democratic jokes to walk this earth.
I do believe if you forget the past you will relive it.

June 27th, 2008 at 8:32 pmHo-Hum.
Mr. “Impeachment is Off the Table” Conyers is grandstanding…again.
June 27th, 2008 at 8:57 pmAnother subpoena with no teeth from an impotent group of milktoast politicians which will be ignored by the neo-fascist media and lead to at best a pardon of the memory hole.
Gee…I guess I sound dispirited and cynical?
June 27th, 2008 at 10:41 pmTanqueray, Do a web search for Truman + Eisenhower + Vietnam. And throw in the OSS and Ho Chi Mihn while you are at it. Another real screw up. While Kennedy and LBJ, as well as Nixon, loaded up Vietnam, and they could and should have taken steps to stop it, they were not alone in the ‘little adventure’. You mentioned it went on for 10 years after you got out. Well, American involvement had been going on for quite some time before that as well. Now, is there any chance to get back on topic?
June 28th, 2008 at 12:43 amThe DoJ has to acknowledge the subpoena.
June 28th, 2008 at 10:49 amThe Judiciary committees in both houses leave me embarrassed that they are actually paid elected representatives. Besides holding hearings what results can they show me? Is simply bringing witnesses supposed to be beneficial to justice? I’m not convinced. Conyers is appearing more inconsequential every day.
We as a nation have been essentially destroyed in the past 7 years. Will anything real be done so this man made disaster can’t happen again. I mean what is the need for a political compromise?
We have been beat over the head and shoulders and our bullies will rush off to the first tee to be with their foresomes.
I want to puke.
