In a new Gallup poll, 68 percent of Americans say they are either “very concerned” or “somewhat concerned” that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) “would pursue policies that are too similar to what George W. Bush has pursued.” Nearly half of respondents — 49 percent — said they were “very concerned”:

Here are just a few examples of how McCain’s policy proposals are “too similar” to President Bush’s.

That’s the most intelligence the public has shown in a poll in my lifetime.
July 1st, 2008 at 10:44 amThey’re concerned because they can see the writing on the wall. McCain is McSame — not a critical thinker and will be influenced by the same corporate interests that President Chimpy has been influenced by.
July 1st, 2008 at 10:44 amMcMonkey see Bush; McMonkey (out)does Bush.
July 1st, 2008 at 10:46 amThen there’s the 31% who either have Kool-Aid IVs or are unaware this is a presidential election year.
July 1st, 2008 at 10:47 amMcBush is headed for a landslide defeat.
July 1st, 2008 at 10:48 amI see that 74% express concern… that’s 3/4 of all Americans.
The other 1/4 are not concerned because they are the ones that still support Bush.
July 1st, 2008 at 10:48 amIt is sad but true; the number of LIV’s (low information voters) seems stuck at 25 to 30%.
Thanks Faux!!
July 1st, 2008 at 10:53 amI think that the 15% are the majority of 6 figure plus incomes.
I think that the “not too concerned” 16%ers are the wishful ones who play the lotto in hopes of entering that supposed “elite” status.
And there you have it… 31% are either rich, or dream of being reach.
July 1st, 2008 at 10:55 amThe other 68% want change, as tax breaks for the rich just doesn’t cut it anymore.
It’s a sure thing, no doubt about it.
July 1st, 2008 at 10:56 amHow about the people who know that McBush will continue Dubya’s policies but like that idea? You know, the faithful few? Are those the ones who are “not concerned at all”?
It seems to me that when you add it all up, most people acknowledge that McCain is Bush redux, and some like the idea while most don’t.
July 1st, 2008 at 11:01 amLooks like our trolls have slept in this morning, or maybe haven’t gotten the e-mail from BushCo yet.
July 1st, 2008 at 11:05 amHow concerned are you that, as President, John McCain would pursue policies that are too similar to what George W. Bush has pursued–very concerned, somewhat concerned, So?, Go fu(ck yourself.
July 1st, 2008 at 11:09 amIt is becoming painfully obvious to this most casual observer that the health of McPain is deteriorating at a rate in excess of that one would normally expect from one of his age. Not only is his senility manifesting itself regularly he has been more and more frequently demonstrating a malady with which we seniors regularly contend, except that we must deal with only one end of the spectrum at a time in the normal body functions. McPain, however, seems to be suffering from the seemingly oxymoronic symptoms of the problem in two unexpected body parts. In short, McPain has simultaneous diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain.
July 1st, 2008 at 11:13 amAnd the other third is now afraid that Obama will:
Obama Vows To Expand Bush’s Faith-Based Programs
CHICAGO — Reaching out to evangelical voters, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is announcing plans to expand President Bush’s program steering federal social service dollars to religious groups and _ in a move sure to cause controversy _ support some ability to hire and fire based on faith.

July 1st, 2008 at 11:28 amCONCERNED? CONCERNED!!
Much more like scared shitless.
July 1st, 2008 at 11:42 amSo not only are people seeing through McCain’s BS but they’re seeing through the McCain loving MSM’s smoke screen as well. That has to be encouraging.

July 1st, 2008 at 11:44 amupside, the RNC talking points memorandum is probably late. The intern in charge is hungover after a night of cheetoes & T-Bird swilling.
July 1st, 2008 at 11:44 amRU,
I hate when that happens. Then the late poster’s are even crazier than normal.
July 1st, 2008 at 11:50 amOnly 68%…if people would pay attention to things more it would be way higher…but we do have an extremely undereducated populace, which explains why that number is so low.
I mean just look at some of Rogeredupthearse’s posts for what home schooling does to people.
July 1st, 2008 at 11:54 amWe have to be careful interpreting this poll because the question is kind of vague. What does “very concerned” mean here? Someone (like myself) who believes that Bush’s policies have caused death and destruction and should be abolished would be concerned if they thought McCain would follow Bush, but would not be concerned if they thought McCain wouldn’t. Someone who likes Bush’s policies and thinks McCain would follow Bush, would not be too concerned about it.
This poll doesn’t tell us much about how many people dislike Bush’s policies or how many people support McCain or how many people think McCain will follow Bush. It would be more meaningful to separate this poll into those three questions.
July 1st, 2008 at 12:03 pmThey are right to be concerned.
Now they must act on it…
July 1st, 2008 at 12:20 pmwhat like lower taxes? and what exactly are Obamas policies. nobody know except he will raise taxes on everyone. such drone
