I passed that threshold long ago Helen. There are men who have perpetrated more evil, but, the crimes committed in our names have made Buscho the first, and hopefully only, people I hate from afar. And I’ve only met two I hate face to face in over 40 years.

I can forgive crimes of passion, rage, or misplaced Faith. But the sheer contempt and defiance displayed by these criminals demands justice. Though at this point I would be overjoyed if they just leave peacefully in Jan. 09.

Chimpy made the same mistake as every would-be conqueror in history. He looked at the small military force and said, “we can top that”. He was right. Mideastern countries generally have small armies because the are not, by nature, nationalistic. Their first loyalties are to clan and tribe. Those loyalties may prevent them from joining a standing army.

However, when a foreign power invades? All bets are off. Even while they settle grudges and establish alliances, amongst themselves, they are uniting against us. Testing us. Learning all our methods.

Whoever emerges from the civil strife on top will be far more powerful than al-Maliki. And it’s virtually certain that whoever it is will kick us out post-haste. And they’ll have the fanatic loyalty of 99% of Iraqi fighting men to make it happen.

I would guess that our “commanders on the ground” would get very nervous if the civil strife reduced dramatically. Because we know that once they are done fighting each other? It’s our turn. And it could make every defeat in American military history pale in comparison.

Bushco has provided the tastiest bait in modern history. 150,000 troops, plus at least that many mercs and civilians, pinned down in hostile territory. What’s worse is that our “strategy” has left us in a position to have ALL supply lines cut. 500 really committed guys with shoulder launched missiles (probably Made in U.S.A.) could cut off every last one of them. Then the butchering would begin.

That’s what military historians, even amateurs, fear. That the Iraqis will stop fighting each other before we have secured a withdrawal. If that happens it could be the worst defeat since Stalingrad. And you can damn well bet that every poor slob from Blackwater, not to mention GI, will be praying for the protection of the Geneva Conventions. And their captors will reply, “So”?
