Are you really so thick in the head or do you just enjoy dragging out an argument by changing the point? First, while admitting that it may be hard to find intelligent-looking photos of Bush, you still criticize TP for not doing so. Two, you can’t see the difference between using unflattering photos that already exist of someone and deliberately distorting photos. Third, you claim that the straightforward story Fox reacted so immaturely has nothing to do with the issue when, in fact, it has everything do do with the issue. Fourth, you have claimed that TP has never used an unflattering photo of someone it agrees with when, in fact, it once misidentified Democrat Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, who is of not overweight, with her plump sister. Let me spell it out, dearie (not) since you don’t get it. As someone who wears a size 6 or sometimes a 4, I would find it very unflattering to be misidentified with my plus size sister, as much as I may love her.
Finally, I didn’t miss you, “bud.” You’re one of the reasons I may go for days without looking at TP.

You really are persistent. I won’t go into the whole issue of Bush photos again. We all know the difference in a photo with a natural expression and ones with an unusual expression that makes one look foolish, drunk, sinister etc. TP has both available and chooses to use the latter. I’m sorry to hear that you would be so offended to be mistaken for your overweight sister. I hope she never discovers this side of you. The obvious difference in the misidentification is that is wasn’t done intentionally. TP doesn’t accidently post unflattering photos. TP posts unflattering photos of people with whom they disagree and then hypocritically criticizes Fox for doing something similar, but a little “more wrong.” The original story was about Fox and their reaction to the NYT article. However, you responded to my post regarding TP’s hypocrisy. We’ve established that Fox was wrong in what they did. That doesn’t change the fact that TP was hypocritical in criticizing someone else for doing something very similar to what they do themselves.
You should really read a little more carefully before you respond. I didn’t suggest that you missed me, only “bud.” ;)

Point out my instances of hypocrisy and I’ll gladly take responsibility. Notice I wrote hypocrisy, not difference of opinion. The comment about me being the only one pointing out hypocrisy is so foolish as not to warrant a response. It was worth a good laugh, though. Congratulations on pointing out TP’s error. But, that is yet another attempt to steer the discussion away from the issue at hand. TP posted an article criticizing someone else for altering photos to create a certain impression when they are guilty of doing something quite similar, even if a lower “level of reprehensibility.”

Maybe TP doesn’t want to waste any more time looking for flattering photos of people than you want to spend on answering Ralph’s question by pointing out specific cases. Moreover, how Fox reacted to a rather straightforward story is, in fact, part of the issue here, plain and simple. Finally, I’ve spent more than enough time on this matter. Basically you’re here to find fault with TP and/or with liberals, so I’m sure you will keep on creating more excuses. Don’t expect me to answer them.

If TP used unusual looking photos of folks on both ends of the political spectrum, your first sentence would be a possibility. They don’t and we all know it, so your excuse is invalid. But I’m sure TP appreciates having you try to make excuses for their deliberate distortions rather than holding them to the same standards as you do others. The fact that Fox has done something very similar and you criticize them, but not TP shows you are guilty of the same hypocrisy as TP in this matter. Moreover, since you agree that he may appear so unintelligent, maybe TP is having trouble finding flattering photos of him. The only ones I can recall seeing are when he was much, much younger; they certainly wouldn’t be appropriate for using today. And like it or not, dearie (not), doctoring photos is a reprehensible act–particularly, when the “New York Times,” which so riled Fox, was a rather straightforward report (I read it) on its ratings decline and something only a paranoid would call a “hit job.”

As I said, if Bush looks so unintelligent all the time, why not use a photo of his usual expression instead of the kind they use? Yeah, right, there are probably a limited number of photos of the President of the U.S. available and that’s all they could find. I guess that’s the reason they print such photos of a lot of the people with whom they disagree politically. Fantastically, though, they are able to find normal photos of people with whom they agree. It’s uncanny. As for the New York Times report and whether or not it was a hit job, again, not the issue here. Altering photos is wrong. Perhaps even worse on the “reprehensible scale” than searching for, or creating from video, photos that are unflattering to those with whom you disagree. But, if you’re happy with TP being “less wrong” than FOX, then there’s no problem, is there? ;)

Frankly, uptight righty, I have seen many, many photos of George W. Bush as well as him on TV, and he never looks intelligent to me. Hearing him speak is almost torturous. Moreover, there is a difference in levels of reprehensibility between deliberately distorting a person’s photo and deliberately choosng unflattering photos. Finally, if you think it is “a waste (your) time pointing out the obvious,” why do you waste your and everyone else’s time posting here? I doubt if you have convinced anyone but your fellow trolls here of anyof your points/claims.

I never said Bush is or looks intelligent, now did I? If he appears so unintelligent, why the need to choose unflattering photos which reflects badly on TP? I agree about listening to him speak, but that’s not the issue here. Your “levels of reprehensibility” comment is rather amusing. I’m sure there was supposed to be some sort of defense for TP in there. “Hey, we are less reprehensible than FOX!”
As for the waste of time, no I won’t search for proof of things of which regular posters are well aware. And if others who hold your political views share your views about “levels of reprehensibility”, I’m sure there is no chance of convincing anyone of anything. I’ll still point out the hypocrisy just in case a moment of weakness opens an otherwise closed mind. ;)

You’ll understand if I choose not to waste my time pointing out the obvious. If you really haven’t noticed, scroll down and look at the photo of Bush. Then scroll through a few more pages and see how many photos there are of people blinking so that they look drugged or silly and how often the photo of McCain hugging Bush appears. It’s almost like TP is trying to influence your thinking with those photos. Of course, it’s entirely possible that those are the only types of photos TP had available to them. Additionally, there is the fact that this is only a blog and shouldn’t be held to the same standards as other forms of information. ;)
