President Bush will speak on the Republican convention’s opening night in St. Paul, MN. The New York Times reports that while details were still being worked out, a joint McCain/Bush appearance is “highly unlikely.” One GOP representative, however, said that a better plan would involve Bush staying home:
“I don’t think there are a lot of people who want to see him at the convention,” said Mr. Rohrabacher, who is especially irked with Mr. Bush for his stance on immigration. He said the president “should stay home from the Republican convention, and everybody would be better off.”

..should stay home from the Republican convention, and everybody would be better off.”
And if the criminal, incompetent ahole would have stayed home in TX the last 8 years, this country and the world would be better off.
July 5th, 2008 at 10:36 amHe should stay home for the next 200 days — in fact, lokidog is right, he should have stayed in Texas for the past 8 years - we’d have been better for it.
July 5th, 2008 at 10:43 amWhat is it they say about the proverbial “skunk at a garden party”?
July 5th, 2008 at 10:44 amOh, really? I’m asking Congress to repeal the 22nd ammendment so that he can run against Obama for a third term.
Let’s see how the American people actually feel about him!

July 5th, 2008 at 10:48 amI hope a$$wipe bush shows up and takes over the convention. Give the people one last big reminder of what a fcukup he is.
July 5th, 2008 at 10:50 amHey hey he is the party leader here to lead us to a permanent GOP majority We can’t have him not there for the announcement of martial law which is the only hope of the faithful

Thanks, Auggie. My computer won’t let me use the flag option.
He’s also spammed the Fourth fireworks thread with this crap.
July 5th, 2008 at 10:53 amhell, st john should just stay home.
the gop convention opens two days following barack obama’s acceptance speech given in denver’s mile high stadium before a crowd of 70+k screaming, hugely energetic supporters — and on one of the most notable dates in civil rights history — the 45th anniversary of martin luther king’s ‘i have a dream’ speech.
top that republicans… get your tivos ready, cause it’s going to be an amazing moment in electoral politics.
July 5th, 2008 at 10:55 am“I don’t think there are a lot of people who want to see him at the convention,” said Mr. Rohrabacher
I think about 75% of the country want to see him there.

http://www.cnn.com/ 2008/ POLITICS/ 07/ 04/ clinton.poll/
One week after Sen. Hillary Clinton made a public show of unity with Sen. Barack Obama, a new survey suggests supporters of the New York senator are increasingly less likely to follow her lead.
A growing number of Clinton supporters polled say they may stay home in November instead of casting their ballot for Obama, an indication the party has yet to coalesce around the Illinois senator four weeks after the most prolonged and at times divisive primary race in modern American history came to a close.
According to a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released Friday, the number of Clinton supporters who plan to defect to Republican Sen. John McCain’s camp is down from one month ago, but — in what could be an ominous sign for Obama as he seeks to unify the party — the number of them who say they plan to vote for Obama is also down, and a growing number say they may not vote at all.
In a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey completed in early June before the New York senator ended her White House bid, 60 percent of Clinton backers polled said they planned on voting for Obama. In the latest poll, that number has dropped to 54 percent.
NEXT!!!
HA! HA!!
July 5th, 2008 at 10:56 amHe said the president “should stay home from the Republican convention, and everybody would be better off.”
But George is busy makin’ a little legacy, so he’ll be humping the podium, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
He’s got to have that shot of himself at the GOP convention, handing the torch to McCain, or it will ruin the photo montage in his prezidental liberry.
July 5th, 2008 at 10:59 am“60 percent of Clinton backers polled said they planned on voting for Obama. In the latest poll, that number has dropped to 54 percent.”
The difference is about the margin of Operation Chaos “supporters,” Hmmm, sounds about right.
July 5th, 2008 at 11:00 amNEXT!!!
HA! HA!!
We all know he’ll get a polling lift from the convention, and these disaffecteds will have ample time to consider the gravity of a McCain victory. This more a message being sent, than a gauge of how these folks will really vote.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot;
HA! HA!!
July 5th, 2008 at 11:03 amIS it over for the Messiah!!!!!
Is that a question, pinhead?
If so, yes, it was over for the “messiah” roughly 2008 years ago. You know, that cross and all….
Try to keep up, dumb f***.
July 5th, 2008 at 11:04 amBush is the face of the Republican party. There is nothing the GOP can do now to get rid of the stench, not after lockstepping with Bush these past 8 years.
July 5th, 2008 at 11:23 amJ. Kerry, I wouldn’t be inclined to buy your argument, but since
July 5th, 2008 at 11:25 amit’s typed in bold and has lots of exclamation points, I’m convinced. All I can do now is weep for my messiah and wait for the crucifixion.
Good day poster’s….I don’t agree, bush/cheney and palosi should all be in jail for ever….Won’t play favorite;s here, arrest all the warmonger’s, and their backer’s and we would have a GOOD START.,,,,,Blessings
July 5th, 2008 at 11:27 amEveryone needs to email the White House and encourage the “albatross” to campaign mightily for his party.
His legacy is at stake…
July 5th, 2008 at 11:29 amBush will arrive in a golden chariot pulled by Rush and Sean, who will be totally naked and greased up to a glisten.
July 5th, 2008 at 11:31 amI think Bush should go. I hope this is a great photo-op, so that every (R) candidate gets their picture taken with this loser. To remind the public these are the guys you don’t want to vote for. Everyone of them should suffer for supporting him these last 7 1/2 years.
If that doesn’t turn some of the red states blue, I don’t know what will.

Capisch?
July 5th, 2008 at 11:44 amGeorge will be there like a fly buzzing around a cow’s ass.
July 5th, 2008 at 11:48 amWhy don’t you have a flag option, Barfly, and how long have you had this problem?
July 5th, 2008 at 11:50 amSorry it took so long, but I’m also doing chores around the house, while posting. The downloading software is damaged in some way, and I can’t get automatic windows updates. It has made my comp unable to activate the report abuse option. And Tp doesn’t answer my e-mails, so an easy debunk was in order - which I did. Sorry, if I got a little p*ssy.
July 5th, 2008 at 12:01 pmThat’s an “i,” by the way. Wouldn’t want anyone to get the wrong ideas…
July 5th, 2008 at 12:03 pmYou’ve got a little pussy cat? How sweet! ;)
July 5th, 2008 at 12:03 pmIs it off topic to respond to a response to a post that’s off topic?
July 5th, 2008 at 12:05 pmLOL.silly old me barfly, I thought you ment you got LUCKY between post’s…Blessings
July 5th, 2008 at 12:07 pmWhat a clown! I feel the same way about him. He’s been my Congressman for the entire time I’ve lived in the 46th District of Orange County, Ca. If we can get him to keep flapping his mouth, Debbie Cook, the present Mayor of Huntington Beach, will be taking Surfer Boys seat in Congress! I’ve never see Rohrabacher put up a campaign sigh. He doesn’t have to. This year he’s gone from Strong Republican to likely rethug. We’re heading the right direction!
July 5th, 2008 at 12:19 pmTo Aanya #31,
July 5th, 2008 at 12:35 pmI’m glad to see your post. Although I do live not in Rohrabacher’s district, as a native of southern California, I have been aware of this idiot for a long time. Before seeing your post, I simply wanted to say that things must be getting really bad for Dumbya if even a wingnut like Dana R. wants to avoid him. Now I want to wish you and the smarter people in your district in voting him out. Good luck!
Bush is the toilet paper on the clown shoe that is the Republican Party.
July 5th, 2008 at 12:36 pm“I don’t think there are a lot of people who want to see him at the convention,” said Mr. Rohrabacher, who is especially irked with Mr. Bush for his stance on immigration. He said the president “should stay home from the Republican convention, and everybody would be better off.”
And yet they’re looking to elect someone who hardly differs from him. Go figure.

July 5th, 2008 at 12:39 pmYeah, I suppose Bush staying home the day of the convention will make everyone forget that Republicans were little more than personality cult followers, Bush boot lickers, and were always in full support of their Dear (mis)Leader. No matter the issue.
The only thing these fascists didn’t do was salute their Supreme Leader with arms extended forth in 45degree angle, and sing “Sieg Heil!” in unison.
Like typical cowards, only now that Bush is on his way out with waning political power, do these people decide to “stand up”. Or at least put up a nice dog and pony show.
July 5th, 2008 at 1:08 pmRepublicans should stay home from the Republican Convention — they’re all a bunch of odious odiferous clowns.
July 5th, 2008 at 1:29 pmHow the hell can we sell the suckers on the new chimp with Bush still around to remind everyone of just how badly they got screwed by the old chimp?
Good luck with that, Dana. Hard to blame this problem on the Dems, isn’t it.
July 5th, 2008 at 2:05 pmIt amazes me that every once in a rare while, one of these Republicons will actually make a statement that I can agree with.
July 5th, 2008 at 3:00 pmOh, oh, looks like trouble in the GOP paradise. Now, the GOP doesn’t want Bubble Boy at the GOP convention. Too little too late. Once McCain sold himself to the Sith Lord George for endorsement, Bubble Boy-in-chief will be the worse nightmare come November election and will crush the entire GOP party.
July 5th, 2008 at 3:04 pmNo kidding!
July 5th, 2008 at 3:30 pmNo, no. Bush should spend the entire week at the GOP convention with his friends, John McBush and Karl McRove.
July 5th, 2008 at 3:41 pm.
Wouldn’t it be nice if Bush spoke every day at the convention…
… Reminding us of why we despise the sack of sh!t he is?
.
July 5th, 2008 at 3:46 pmI don’t know what would be worst for the rethugs, having the chimp show up and remind everyone the they are all in bed with him or him not showing up and remind everyone that they are all in bed with him. Hmmmm, that’s gonna be a toughy.
July 5th, 2008 at 3:52 pmWell no matter whether McCain or Obama get the election, it has already been noted that either will be a 3rd Bush term. ;-)
Seriously: Hint to Dems: Be prepared to tie the repubs to Bush. Get the pictures of Bush giving his speech and the repugs lauding him. Get the pictures of McCain embracing him.
I know in my home state of Missouri, the state repubs are still marching lockstep with the failed Bush policies. Tie this around their neck!!!

I watched the Foreign Affair Committe Hearing on torture June 4th. This is what Dana (Isn’t that a girly name) said:
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher on Wednesday dismissed the idea that taunting terrorism suspects with women’s panties is a form of torture.
In a debate about detainee treatment at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the California Republican cited panties eight times, arguing that making suspected terrorists wear women’s underwear on their heads isn’t demeaning and degrading enough to be called torture.
“You’re suggesting that the behavior of, what, panties on his head … is unacceptable interrogation technique for a man who was involved in a conspiracy to kill tens of thousands of Americans?” Rohrabacher asked during a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing.
Rohrabacher was taking issue with FBI complaints about inappropriate and potentially illegal tactics used to get al-Qaida detainees to talk in the years following the Sept. 11 attacks. He said interrogation-by-panties was more akin to a “hazing pranks from some fraternity,” not torture.
Some interrogation tactics used _ even if not torture _ might not be pleasant, Rohrabacher said. “I mean, OK, describing his mother and sister as whores, that’s certainly not a nice thing to do,” he said.
An exasperated Rep. Bill Delahunt, D-Mass., reminded Rohrabacher that interrogators were also seen physically abusing detainees.
“This isn’t about panties on the head,” Delahunt said. “This is about physical pressure, waterboarding and other techniques that apparently were utilized at Guantanamo.”
Rohrabacher made a final point.
“I, in no way, will ever apologize that someone put panties on the head of this 9/11 terrorist and treated him without respect,” he said. “That man should have no respect.”
July 5th, 2008 at 4:53 pmRemember, just a few short years ago, when every Republican you knew was simultaneously chanting: “Bush is the greatest president in American history”?
Every time one of them complains about Bush now, I just say, “Don’t look at me, I sure as Hell never voted for him!”
July 5th, 2008 at 5:36 pmWouldn’t it be cool if Bush came and took a picture with Rohrbacher? AWK-WAAAARD!
July 5th, 2008 at 8:07 pmBut, but Dick Cheney has to be at the Republican convention because John McSame is going to choose Cheney to be his vice-presidential running mate, locking in the horror of the Bush years for the foreseeable future.
July 5th, 2008 at 8:56 pmOr, Dick Cheney has to be at the Republican convention so he can show-off his expert shotgun marksmanship from the stage. Maybe he can shoot some of the balloons as they descend?
Of course, while Cheney’s wielding his shotgun on stage, the only word heard out in the audience will be “DUCK!!!!”
July 5th, 2008 at 9:05 pmWHAT! The puppet damn well better be there - he’s ALL yours GOP. ALL yours & McCain should not be allowed to distance himself from the Bush administration. Corporate news has been working very hard to tell me how important party loyalty is so hey McCain…WTF?
July 5th, 2008 at 9:36 pmHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
Look at the weasels scurrying to throw Dear Leader under the bus!!!
Just like there were no Nazis in Germany at the end of WWII…in a few months’ time, there won’t be a single Republican left in America.
