Dang, bud, I apologize for screwing that up for you. It was much too glorious a day to spend here. Not a reflection on your patter, mind you. That’s all too humorous. ;)

Valid, objective news is not Fox. Gossip, lies and inudendo are. And attacks against any who even try to tell the truth about them is a regular objective.

I have to admit though it is difficult to feel empathy for any of the so called free press. To call most of them journalist stretches truth itself. In case anyone is not aware. The US has gone from being #1 free objective press inn the world to #44 and falling. Number one is now Denmark.

I get none of my information from television or the corporate news. I get some from blogs, some from McClatchy newspapers, a bit from Christian Science Monitor and some from PBS. Most I get from outside the US. They cover what is happening in our own country. I don’t bother with corporate entities. I would not buy a paper from any of them. In fact I don’t even have television anymore. Not since the Gulf war was on.

The newspapers and corporate news are shills. Not journalists. We have no free press anymore.

I spent a good part of my high school and college life debating. I spent my adult life as a litigator of criminal and civil cases. You learned some very basic concepts of what is a valid argument. One of the first concepts requires that the person making an argument has a burden of moving forward and presenting sufficient evidence in support of their argument to justify a response from the other side. It is a common sense requirement. It prevents an opponent from merely blanketing the forum with unfounded and unsupported allegations to the extent that the other party is tainted by unsupported innuendo or prevented from effectively arguing their point of view because they are simply derailed by responding to these allegations. Think about how hard it is to respond to an allegation without proof or specifics. This is what the trolls want. We have seen this thread derailed on this issue.

It’s past time:
1) Avail yourself of a list of Fox advertisers/sponsors. (I may have to make myself have it on for an hour to compile my list, unless someone’s already done that distasteful chore.)

2) Contact those companies and tell them you hope they change their mind about supporting a network that both slanders and suppresses free speech;

3) Tell those companies you express your own opinion with your wallet; stop buying their products until we all see the demise of the Fox “News” Channel as we know it.

Interesting. Whenever I have what I think is a solid point of refutation, or solid evidence that makes my point, I am happy to find it and post it, thus making my argument stronger.

I think it is quite revealing that, instead of providing evidence that Uptighty claims can prove its point, it chooses to blame Dr. Matt and his “laziness” for Uptight’s failure to make his case.

Very interesting indeed.

Yeah, ralph, I’m willing to do the same, except when all that is required is to scroll back through a few pages and look at the photos next to the threads. And I might even be willing to do it in this case if I was new to this blog and didn’t know that the responses to it would be typical of all the other times folks here have no way out of an argument. My time is too valuable for that. You are free to pretend that you are unaware of the photos in question and no libs will question you. As noted earlier this is only a blog and some libs prefer to relax standards for integrity on blogs. You have a great day now, bud. ;)

Trying to equate “poor” photos (in your opinion, some other people could say that’s a “typical” photo) and doctoring the photos in a supposedly “news” outlet is very, very different. The first equates free speech, the later is simply lying, and can be considered libel.

Of course, the Uptight One still relies on the false equivalence it posed earlier — namely, that choosing an unflattering — but real — photo of a subject the same thing as purposefully altering a photograph to make it falsely unflattering.
