My friends,
I regret saying I didn’t know much about economics. It turns out I do. Holy Joe & Lindsay Cracker worked hard on each other to produce what I see as ginormous relief in us Elitist’s tax breaks.
As part of my plan, I’ll raise taxes on everyone but the top 1% of Americans. Next, I’ll continue our President’s tax cuts to the rich, which I’m proud to be one of.
Oh, and did I mention I’d bomb Iran? That will boost the economic foundation of our good friends, the defense contractors.

The statement itself is freakin’ hilarious. This “distinguished” list (only about 15 or so signatories from AEI and Hoover plus Phil Gramm’s entire family) of economists assumes McNutzi will (1) get a line item veto; (2) veto every single bill containing an earmark; and (3) be able to hold all nonmilitary expenditures flat for a year. They might as well have just said “we endorse the McCain economic plan because we are convinced he is a magic man and will cause a miracle to occur.”

Take this stuff seriously. They will use this to attack Obama’s plan and to insinuate that the Republicans are the only party capable of fixing the economy. We need to attack this on several levels:

1. This is what the Republicans have been doing for the past 8 years with little success.

2. Tax cuts for corporations have not been able to generate jobs because the tax code allows expatriation of money saved on taxes to tax shelters and to export US jobs.

3. We have seen a rising inequality of income. Do these economists really believe that such an economy is sustainable or fair?

Lastly, we need our own pannel of experts to support Obama’s plan. Then it becomes two competing sets of experts with our experience of what has actually happened with Republicans in control.
