Is the McCain campaign screening journalists’ questions during conference calls?

Mother Jones’ David Corn points out today that Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) campaign appears to be screening journalists’ questions. Unlike calls conducted by the Obama and Clinton campaigns, the McCain camp seems to choose its questioners, rather than rely on a first-come, first-serve basis. During a recent call, for example, only two questions were taken: from conservative bloggers Ed Morrissey and Matt Lewis. “Had it been merely a coincidence that the only questioners had been rightwing bloggers who had served up soft balls?” Corn asks.

Soft ball questions for soft headed Republiscums unable to coherently think and respond at the same time.

Classic Rove tactics that only works on the 28%ers. Give him credit he understands the stupidity and short attention span of the rightwing base.

Too bad he has such disgust and disrespect for the rest of the American public though. Wonder why he hates this country so?

Is a bean green? Nothing surprise me with Gramps McCain. This is just another recycling of the Bush playbook.

    Obama does it too.

    dixie blood,
Obama does this too and so did Bill Clinton, why isn’t McCain allowed to do this?

    Of course they’re screening questions!

    Their candidate is JOHN McCAIN!

    Hello!?

  8. Innocent Bystander says:

If McCain can’t handle tough questions, how’s he going to handle a tougher reality? We’ve seen 8 years of no answers and no accountability from this administration…do the American people want 4 more years of McSame?

Obviously, reading isn’t your strong suit, eh? From the above:

The same way Bush handles it. He ignores it, lies about it, denies it, smiles and smirks at it, and hands it to someone who knows how to read.

Of course McCain is screening questioners.

He knows not to wander beyond “friendly” territory, much like Bush does. Life in the bubble is much too comfortable.

As I’ve said before, McCain is Bush’s sequel in more ways than one.

It’s not like they haven’t seen this before. Does the name Gannon ring a bell?

Why have the trolls today had such terrible grammar and spelling? It really is not doing the Repugs any favours.

Are they in their last throes, as it were?

  16. Peter C says:

The screening of questions and audiences is a sickening example of COWARDICE, nothing less.
