On the House floor this afternoon, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) introduced an article of impeachment against President Bush “for high crimes and misdemeanors” and “deceiving Congress with fabricated threats of Iraq WMDs to fraudulently obtain support for an authorization of the use of military force against Iraq.” Watch part of his speech:
While the House tabled previous articles of impeachment against Bush offered by Kucinich, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) suggested this morning that the Judiciary Committee may “have some hearings” on Kucinich’s new impeachment resolution.
Transcript:
SPEAKER: For what purpose does the gentleman from Ohio rise?
KUCINICH: Thank you, madam speaker. Pursuant to clause 2, rule 9, I here by give notice of my intention to raise a question of the privileges of the House. The form of the resolution is as follows. An article of impeachment of President George W. Bush. Resolved, that President George W. Bush be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors and that the final article of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate.
An article of impeachment exhibited by the House of Representatives of the United States of America in the name of itself and the people of the United States of America in maintenance and support of its impeachment against President George W. Bush for high crimes and misdemeanors.
Article one: Deceiving Congress with fabricated threats of Iraq WMDs to fraudulently obtain support for an authorization of the use of military force against Iraq.
In his conduct while President of the United States, George W. Who cares!!!?? Let’s talk about Jesse Jackson, Obama’s flag pins, and Hillary’s pant suits!!
July 10th, 2008 at 6:07 pmAt least we have one true patriot in Congress!
July 10th, 2008 at 6:08 pmI watched his impeachment speech….Sorry if you all missed it or thought he didn’t diserve your time..It is my opinion he and a few other’s are the only true patriot’s and watch dog’s for our constitution and country today..Sad legacy indeed…Blessings
July 10th, 2008 at 6:09 pmDr. Hussein Matt, were you making fun of Ray Edmonds, or the MSM?
It’s hard to tell sometimes.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:13 pm“Too little, too late.”
July 10th, 2008 at 6:13 pmThose of us who may think this, miss the point. We are a nation of laws. Our credibility as a nation is on the line. The particulars of these impeachment articles must be adjudicated to show the rest of the world and more importantly coming generations of Americans that WE govern, not the President.
President Dinkledonk has to pay the price for shredding the Constitution and ruining the country. Go Dennis!
July 10th, 2008 at 6:14 pmAh, God bless you, Dennis. I wish I could send you a million dollars.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:24 pmHERO.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:26 pmGod I wish we had a system of electing a President that was not totally controlled by the MSM. If we had such a system, Kucinich (my first choice) would have had a good chance at being our next President. But since the MSM marginalized him and refused to give him any coverage, it was preordained that he would not win.

How nice of her. Too bad Pelosi doesn’t the same sense of responsibilty for her job that Kucinich does.

July 10th, 2008 at 6:31 pmIf there were ever a time that the President of the U.S. should be held accountable, this is the place and the time.
George W. Bush is guilty of Treason.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:34 pmNancy Pelosi is this administration’s favorite Dirt Bag.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:34 pm<blockquote>House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) suggested this morning that the Judiciary Committee may “have some hearings” on Kucinich’s new impeachment resolution.
Nancy dear — do the world a huge favor — skip the damned useless hearings and impeach the S.O.B. now!
Just saying . . .
July 10th, 2008 at 6:37 pmHow nice of Speaker Pelosi to suggest that the barns door may need closing now that all the horses have run off. Another profile in courageous patriotism.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:37 pmPelosi first has to pass this through AIPAC, Likud, Bush, and the Telecoms.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:37 pmWhat up Nancy? Don’t tell me you’ve actually heard how unhappy the people are.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:37 pmIf only the dems had supported impeachment before, like the gop did.Atleast the blame is clear.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:41 pmpSSST, Nancy, you can use Dennis’ chair as a table. Just sayin’…
July 10th, 2008 at 6:41 pmKucinich has 100% approval rating from me!
July 10th, 2008 at 6:43 pmFrom the article:
I imagine the hearings will be scheduled for January 19, 2009, starting at 4:59 p.m. and will continue until the end of the business day.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:43 pmRozzie, gotta say, that’s one of the most hilarious arguments I’ve ever heard on the subject of impeachment, “the Republicans did it first!!”
Oh lord.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:45 pmIT’S OFF THE TABLE , DENNIS
As well as the Fourth Amendment .
Privacy .
Prosecuting War Criminals .
Prosecuting War profiteers .
Peace .
Reasonable Gas prices .
Lying to the American people .
It’s all off the FKN Table !
July 10th, 2008 at 6:53 pmTankedaway, makes sense that one of the few in the senate who’s doing his job is a “Kook” to you.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:55 pmI am trying to imagine why our trolls feel better when justice has not been served. What type of satisfaction can they get when their country has been insulted by the likes of KKKarl Rove? I know they don’t have much, and they need to feel superior - usually by living vicariously through the illegal activity of the administration - but I don’t understand how letting the wrong doers off the hook can bring them pleasure.
They would probably hide Rove from the cops if they could - just to be part of the kewl kids team. Pathetic losers - that’s our GOP and it’s trolls.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:57 pmWon’t this conflict with Obama’s “Immunity for Everyone Who Might Not Like Me” bill?
July 10th, 2008 at 7:04 pmStratRat, I too find it amazing to see how these arseholes giving America the finger is cheered, as if that is the ultimate goal, the ‘American Dream’.
July 10th, 2008 at 7:05 pmStratRat
My mother would have called this a case of the republiscums “cutting off their nose to spite their face”.
July 10th, 2008 at 7:06 pmGood old saying Saint Augustine. Another one I like is “They’ll get their comeuppance.” I hope this saying comes true.
July 10th, 2008 at 7:09 pm25. Oops, I mean the house, my bad.
July 10th, 2008 at 7:11 pmIt really does surprise me that even with all of our differences, true Americans still should all want what is best for America. Karl Rove simply works for Bush and the GOP - not for the USA, or our trolls. Why don’t the trolls realize that Karl is playing them for fools - using their bizzare affection for fascism - to move the propoganda forward. Do they like being made fun of? Do they like being played for a fool? It does seem so.
Why do the trolls really hate America, but love the GOP? The GOP doesn’t give one sh^t about them - not one.
July 10th, 2008 at 7:15 pmWhy do the trolls really hate America, but love the GOP?
Because they get paid for every comment posted on a ‘liberal’ blog site. Ain’t the free market grand? If there’s no monetary profit in doing something, then it ain’t worth doing.
July 10th, 2008 at 7:29 pmI don’t make many predictions, but, roz inspired me.
Barack Obama will never be charged by an elected official with acts of treason.
King George?
July 10th, 2008 at 7:36 pmWow, Nancy “DemoRat” PollLoser is gonna… uhh… do… uh.. maybe… uuh.. think… about… uhh …doing …a…stern… uhhh…
WHAT THE PH*CK WILL THIS LOSER EVER DO FOR THIS DEMOCRACY???
SHE NEEDS TO GO AWAY FOR GOOD!!
July 10th, 2008 at 7:41 pmWhat a shame Dennis Kucinich isn’t sitting where Obama is sitting right now! At least there’s one true american in the bunch - Dennis Kucinich!
July 10th, 2008 at 8:06 pmHussein McCain Says:
Tankedaway, makes sense that one of the few in the senate who’s doing his job is a “Kook” to you.
Actually, Dennis is in the House of Representatives but I got your point.
And I bet Tank has a life-size picture of his he-ro, Tom ‘Bugsy’ Delay over his PC. Tank would have made a great Nazi lackey for Adolf and the Boyz back in the day, too.
July 10th, 2008 at 8:15 pmponey up pelosi and admit you screwed up by putting your views ahead of your constituents.
July 10th, 2008 at 8:39 pmNancy Pelosi “suggested” and John Conyers (the guy who devoted 2/3 of his web site to impeachment until the day after the 2006 election, at which point it all disappeared without a trace or even a mention) “opened the door” to impeachment today.
Aren’t you all excited?
You bunch of twits!! You had a chance to support a guy with some real guts and you blew it!
Instead you nominated a guy who immediately turned tail and sided with the corporations.
Now deal with the consequences. You are just as responsible for all of this as Karl Rove. You might as well start a little mini-Republican party.
July 10th, 2008 at 8:40 pmIf nothing happens again I think it’s pretty safe to assume that Bush/Cheney are blackmailing EVERYONE. This is beyond ridiculous…this week they took away our 4th amendment rights - even though constitutional scholars say Bush has committed something like 30 felonies!..but by the way did you hear the AMAZING news about Jon Bennet? Corporate news had a lot to say about the latter…that OTHER stuff? -not so much. So basically we should feel safe and protected and not worry that crass, tactless, cocky men fly from continent to continent representing us, all the while bombing innocents and stealing natural resources. Saying horribly inappropriate things (see Bush G8 behavior..he’s on drugs -p.s. George, this is exactly why the terrorists hate us)with absolutely no regard for others, no regard for the proper protocol for international relations-just no manners whatsoever. Our representatives in Washington sat back and did nothing when Bush/Cheney stole the last 2 elections and they continue to ignore the economy and the environment..I’m no longer embarrassed to be an American I’m mortified.
Dennis Kucinich - thank you.
July 10th, 2008 at 8:56 pmPeace.
While I am heartened to hear that the impeachment will at least get a hearing, I suspect that Pelosi knows it is just too late in the administration for anything to come of it.
The time to do this was a year and a half ago — we would have had confirmed all that was necessary to impeach Bush - and Cheney.
Kucinich is a patriot of the highest order and in my heart I would have him as my president, but my head is more realistic and Dennis could not be president.
I do think that we have the best candidate considering all factors. Clinton could not have won — the hatred for her around the nation is palpable. Obama is moving to the center now for political reasons — he has always said that he prides himself on negotiations and compromise to reach the greater good — he is a Democrat for the people - he’s proven that throughout his life - he will preside as a Democrat and I believe he will work to corrct the course of this nation.
For now, however, let us proceed with impeachment hearings and take them as far as they will lead us.
July 10th, 2008 at 9:10 pmI want to see some of the key figures in the Bush Crime Family on trial.

Someone who is defending the Constitution , thus the rule of law , is a ‘kook’ to you ?
Meanwhile , you revere and defend the worst , most dishonest , totally incompetent and unintelligible president in US history……Nice of you to admit you are un-American , as well as a complete and utter imbecile……….
July 10th, 2008 at 10:18 pmI’ll be damned if I understand why we tolerate crap from politicians…they are no better than we are, and we would be hung out to dry!

Good luck with the impeachment……HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

Since when has the ability to con people into voting for an obviously completely unqualified clown for elected office ever been thought of or viewed as possessing “brains” or a superior intellect ?
BTW
Why is a GOP tool like yourself , with an IQ hovering somewhere around room temperature in the spring , commenting on anything connected with intelligence ?
That’s akin to Charles Manson speaking out on proper societal behavior……….

Wrong on two counts. One, that “unqualified clown” kicked both of your guy’s butt in debates in two elections. Even Kerry said, “I can’t believe I’m losing to this clown”. But lose he did, and so did Gore. Remember when Gore tried that silly trick of walking into Bush’s space in the debate in 2000? Didn’t work very well did it.
And two, I’m a freakin’ genius.
July 10th, 2008 at 10:33 pm
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Are you actually claiming the mental furball that wore a wireless receiver to receive instruction(s) during a nationally televised debate , “kicked butt” ? According to whom ?
A pathetic GOP tool such as yourself ?
Wow ; there’s a tremendous endorsement and testimony of Chimpy’s “greatness”………

P.S. Get over it! Or are you still counting…..HA! How many times did they count…4….5… I think if we include the studies after the election, maybe 6 or 7. And you know what the results were…..I’ll give you a hint. The winner’s last name started with a “B”……

Man , you really are way too ignorant and stupid.
Do you believe that your imbecilic hero in the Oval Office can even pronounce “subatomic particle” ???????
You’re attempting to question/belittle someone’s intelligence while (still) being solidly behind the most dishonest , stupid , and worst president in US history ?
Do you understand on even the most minimal level , the absurdity you’re presenting here ?

July 10th, 2008 at 11:24 pmIt is really difficult to understand how anyone could defend Bu$h and his criminal administration considering all the evidence of their lengthy list of crimes. I don’t get it. Perhaps it comes from a sort of competitive, violent nature - “He’s my guy, I voted for him and I can’t have been wrong!” - all the while watching this once great country go down the toilet. Blind obedience? Fascists? Ignorant and afraid? The trolls here appear to be angry, violent individuals - they exhibit everything that is wrong with the U.S. And their attitudes and behaviors are exactly what Bu$hco and the MSM rely on. Strange times we live in - strange indeed.
And Dennis, you rock!!
July 11th, 2008 at 1:33 amRepresentative Kucinich, on behalf of the internet community, I would like to apologize to you for not offering this advice sooner. When ABC (was it?) mistreated you in the July?2007 Presidential debate, removed you from the picture of the candidates, deleted or deemed inappropriate most of the posts endorsing you for President, and removed the two online polls showing you first slightly in first place and secondly greatly in first place, I would have suggested holding a recorded debate to be placed online. We would have rented a small forum space, and we would have invited all candidates. I can guarantee some of the other candidates would have shown up. Many forums would have gladly posted this debate including YouTube. I, however, did not find out until May 2008. Your positions would have swept the election by a landslide.
July 11th, 2008 at 2:02 amThe only person in Congress with some BRASS,
At least he isn`t drinking the KOOL-AID,
Pelosi and the rest of our elected leaders need to take a long look at Kucinich and his fortitude (brass) and stand along side him and do something for this country so the SHRUB doesn`t get away scott free……..
July 11th, 2008 at 2:06 amDennis Kucinich is a shining example of why I am proud of being a Democrat. He speaks the truth when needed, does not even tend to alter his views for political gains, and is an honest, dedicated American who really is concerned about how our country has gone to hell. Those in the 10th District of Ohio should be proud to have such a morally courageous, upstanding citizen to represent them.
Unfortunately, Bush will get away with his crimes. History will not absolve him, for he will be deemed the worst, most destructive presidents in our 232 year history. How this can happen is beyond me but I believe this is the end of the conservative era which began with Regan. Now is the start of a progression towards common sense, humility, and a belief that all persons are truly equal in every definition of the word.

June 17, 2008
Representative Carolyn Kilpatrick
Independence Avenue ans 1st Street, SW
Washington, DC 20515-2213
RE: HR 1258| Rep. Kucinich: 35 Articles of Impeachment; introduced June 9, 2008
Honorable Representative Kilpatrick,
I am writing to demand that you, as the elected representative from my current district (Michigan) sign onto the 35 Articles of Impeachment introduced by Rep. Dennis Kucinich on June 9. The resolution, HR 1258, is currently with the House Judiciary Committee.
On behalf of all citizens you represent in our district, it is your formal duty to inform the House Judiciary Committee and its Chair Rep. John Conyers that they have an inherent obligation to the people of this country: to hold impeachment hearings against George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.
The demand for impeachment has resonated far and wide thruout this country. Impeachment is not simply a tactic to be taken on or “off the table.” It is a Constitutional obligation of Congress you must pursue.
And the hour now is drawing late.
Therefore, YOU MUST ACT NOW… on behalf of all Americans citizens whose trust placed you in office, you, the House and Senate must fulfill the legitimate purpose for accountability for all crimes the Bush regime had wrought… thru his failed foreign and domestic policies, the untruths, all the lies, we’ve borne to witness time and time again during the two terms Bush has served… during a time our elected constituents serving in government did nothing at all to stop him.
And yet seemingly, the public outcry for impeachment against this tyrant and his criminal enterprise in Washington had long fallen on deaf ears. It is as though the desired whims demonstrated by the inactions of Congress collectively has established the Bush ‘impeachment question’ was no longer found to be of legitimate issue, and therefore, Pelosi and Reid are content blindly moving allowing the president to answer to no one - INCLUDING YOU - while Congress continues to sleep.
BUT YOU AND CONGRESS MUST SURELY ACT.
Only in good standing, it is now your moral obligation that you sign on in support of HR 1258.
Resolve, let the impeachment process serve a stern reminder to those who would dare tread on our civil liberties and of those in power who would spit in the face of the Constitution that they will bear full accountability and pay for the unconstitutional crimes they dare commit, high crimes… as was factually outlined in the 35 Articles of Impeachment against George W. Bush, as was introduced in the House (HR 1258) by Rep. Kucinich on June 9, 2008.
In closing, I am reminded the words of Ella Wheeler Wilcox, “To sin by silence when we should protest makes cowards out of men.”
A failure to do otherwise would be an act of contempt by you and Congress. A failure to do nothing makes you, Congress, complicit in the obstruction of justice.
WAKE UP.
DON’T ALLOW BUSH BLOOD BE ON YOUR HANDS. NOW YOU SEE TO IT JUSTICE IS SERVED.
Sincerely,
J(first name) F(last name)
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
On a side note, I do not expect any response from Rep. Colyn Kilpatrick, whatsoever. But I voiced my discord and displeasure to her by mail, as I saw fit.
Adding further, by their inactions this is why the latest Congress ‘approval ratings’ dropped to a single digit low, now at 9%, for the first time in American history….

See, I knew if I let you talk long enough, you’d expose the fact that you actually don’t know anything for yourself, but are just parroting what you heard from your talking point masters.
When the Florida debacle was going on (on the east coast), I was working late on the west coast. As it happened at the time, my group spent alot of time waiting for another group to do something, so that we could do our jobs.
I spent all my waiting time reading court opinions, at all levels of that battle, on up to the eventual case before the Supreme Court. But there were many many important things that happened before that case, and many Judges (Democrats) who rose to the occasion and did the right thing.
If you believe the pap that the Supreme Court gave the election to Bush, well then I guess that’s about all we need to know about you.

Is this a giant put-on , or are you just retarded ?
With overwhelming evidence of the last 7+ years , you try to stupidly defend the worst president and administration in US history with NOTHING ; please refrain from questioning anyone’s intelligence here ever again , especially my own.
You have presented NOTHING , save a delusional and asinine opinion emanating from a GOP/Chimpy nut hugger in yourself…………
July 11th, 2008 at 12:47 pmI tried to add this to my myspace blog but couldn’t do it. So much for freedom when people like Murdoch are running the show. I will try later though.
