Actually this is just a last minute sales tactic to keep oil at sky high prices so Big Oil can clean-up/cash-in before the new President takes over . . .

It would be hard to believe that Israel – as crazy as they may be – would float a big one in their own punch bowl . . . it would unleash a World wide backlash and the U.S./Israeli sympathy meter would not even bump . . .

. . . so we just have a Dick C pimp pumping up the fear factor to keep oil rising . .

. . and by the way: how come we are paying the SAME price for the American OIL drilled in U.S. wells as we pay fro Saudi Oil shipped ALL the way here???? jis wonderin . . .

onoclea. I had to go last night, but I read your posts.

If the Iranians kick the IAEA out, then we can worry. In the meanwhile this is all BS for purposes which have absolutely nothing to do with Iran being a threat.

This makes sense to me. I also hope the sentiment that the israeli strikes are just rhetoric for political consumption and not a serious consideration.

Problem is, the police has searched the nome of that neighbour and hasn’t found fire weapons. Plus, police has been following the guy and his family, and they haven’t bought a fire weapon. The neighbour hasn’t police record, because he has NEVER wounded anyone but a burglar who entered his house to kill him (Saddam). In the other hand, you have a police record for multiple homicides, assassinations and rapings. Guess who will believe the police.

I believe experts say Israel has 250-300 nukes (more than France). Many could be on subs directly off the Iranian coast. Iran knows this and is not suicidal. At the same time, Iran needs a deterrent to prevent a US or Israeli strike.

If Iran is struck by the US or Israel, I believe all the Iraqi Shiites held back by al-Sistani will be released on our troops there. And Americans will be lucky if they can buy a tank of gas!

I understand the frustration, but it’s binary…Obama or McCain. Obama means a Democratic agenda, a Democratic DoJ, and control of the next SCOTUS choices. It’s not just about Obama, it’s about the majority of Americans that desperately want change.

Yes, the FISA bill sucked and Obama is tacking to the middle and hopefully will get an overwhelming mandate to drive change. Sad to say, he may never be as progressive as many people on the intertubes, but he’ll be a damn site better than Bush 43 or Bush 44.

This war talk is primarily for domestic consumption. Get the rubes scared to vote for McCain. I assume Cheney is pushing Israel like hell to up the war rhetoric…but what’s the benefit, long term, for Israel to attack a country that constitutes no threat? Do they want to become the USA-MiniMe?

If Cheney/Bush hadn’t screwed up the Iraq occupation so bad, we’d probably would be on Chapter 4 of the PNAC plan and we’d have our New American Century where everyone loves us and we’d be getting our gas for $.25/gal. Oh well, the Republicans screwed the pooch on their delusional dream to turn the Middle East into America’s filling station.

But they’ve got some more pressing problems that concern them now. Like losing control of the WH and DoJ….they’ve been governing like there would never be a day of reckoning….but the clock’s ticking down and McCain appears to be losing by a bigger margin than they can comfortably steal it. What’s left? Another Big Event? Something that’ll rival 9/11. Something we can blame on Iran which, will, of course, require a temporary suspension of elections/civil liberties until we win the GWOT (which will be never).
