In a revealing interview with the New York Times, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) — an adoptive parent himself — declared that he opposed the right of gay couples to adopt children, even if it meant leaving children in orphanages:
Q: President Bush believes that gay couples should not be permitted to adopt children. Do you agree with that?
Mr. McCain: I think that we’ve proven that both parents are important in the success of a family so, no I don’t believe in gay adoption.
Q: Even if the alternative is the kid staying in an orphanage, or not having parents.
Mr. McCain: I encourage adoption and I encourage the opportunities for people to adopt children I encourage the process being less complicated so they can adopt as quickly as possible. And Cindy and I are proud of being adoptive parents.
Q: But your concern would be that the couple should a traditional couple —
Mr. McCain: Yes.
McCain’s position is an extreme one, considering that only one state, Florida, forbids all forms of gay adoption. A March 2007 study estimated that 65,000 adopted children are living with a gay or lesbian parent, and determined that a national ban on LGBT foster care could cost anywhere from $87 million to $130 million.
UpdateOver at the Wonk Room, Robert Gordon and Winnie Stachelberg wonder, “Does John McCain really think hundreds of thousands of children should sit in foster care and orphanages while we wait for ‘Ozzie and Harriet’ families to appear?”
This is classic conservatism where the ideology is far more important than actual people.

July 14th, 2008 at 2:47 pmWow.
Just let those kids suffer in foster care, right?
F_ckwit.

July 14th, 2008 at 2:50 pmQ: President Bush believes that gay couples should not be permitted to adopt children. Do you agree with that?
Mr. McCain: I think that we’ve proven that both parents are important in the success of a family so, no I don’t believe in gay adoption.
Who in the hell is this “we” the wrinkled old d0uchebag is prattling about , and when has it ever been “proven” ?
What a lying jackass………….
July 14th, 2008 at 2:51 pmIs the Phelps family managing his campaign?
Homophobia is hard to support in the light of day, but McLoser does.
July 14th, 2008 at 2:55 pmMcCain’s position is an extreme one, considering that only one state, Florida, forbids all forms of gay adoption
– - Ironic, since McCain may adopt Charlie Crist as VP.
July 14th, 2008 at 2:55 pmGot kids yet, Daryll?
July 14th, 2008 at 2:59 pmAgain, here is an example of ideology trumping common sense. Like Scalia, McCain isn’t understanding that his actions have real-world consequences. He would rather that a kid sit in an orphanage instead of being loved by an adult who will help guide him through the world. Should single people ALSO be denied to adopt? Perhaps we should round up all kids in ‘non-traditional’ families and place them with a mom and dad. Preferably a mom that isn’t doing drugs and a dad that has a job.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:01 pmLet those kids sit in their own little prisons, deprived of family. Whatever happened to McCain’s psyche in Hanoi, it wasn’t good. The man has no empathy.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:02 pmDaryll – you are so mistaken. If that’s the case, we should NOT allow old people to get married because they can’t conceive children. How old are you, anyway? Ten? Grow up and look at the world THE WAY IT IS. Trying to fit everything into your tight ideology must be REALLY uncomfortable.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:02 pmAnd have you ever interviewed a child from a same-sex couple arrangement? Studies have shown they grow up just fine…apparently NOT something Daryll got from his mom/dad arrangement.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:04 pmHey McLame tell it Dickhead Cheney and his gay-as-hell daughter, you fcuking fraud.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:05 pmDr. Matt~
July 14th, 2008 at 3:05 pmCan they still have sex if they agree to not enjoy it? And secretly hope to concieve despite these ’setbacks?’
Daryll Says: He’s a sick little superstitious fool, who believes that a Magical Invisible Faerie talks to him and actually allows him to hate others with HIS version of the Bible.
God’s not real, it’s a made up faerie tale, Daryll, get over it.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:06 pmPlease, I used to go to church, but this Biblical nonsense has absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand. McCain is basically telling young children, we will NOT find you a home until it fits into our prescribed NOTION of what that home would look like. Please remember, there are a LOT more incidences of spousal abuse with heterosexual couples that with homosexual couples, so by all means…let’s put them in an abusive situation over a loving one…because THIS loving relationship isn’t quite good enough…
July 14th, 2008 at 3:07 pm“Does John McCain really think hundreds of thousands of children should sit in foster care and orphanages while we wait for ‘Ozzie and Harriet’ families to appear?”
– - Yes, because McCain is STILL living in the 1950s.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:07 pmYo Darryl,
Ask your dad about the “donkey punch” he gave your mom right before conceiving you.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:08 pmDr. Hussein Matt Says:
Daryll Says: If you want a child, do it Jesus’ way.
Immaculate conception is pretty tough.
Immaculate Deception is easy if you’re a Rightard
July 14th, 2008 at 3:09 pmDon’t you think two women/men a relationship would confuse the child about procreation and morality?
Yes, they’ll learn that fcukwits like you are definitely hell bound, and mom and mom will do a better job raising little “Jimmy” than your stupid parents did with you, idiot.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:09 pmDaryll, I’m sorry your Dad didn’t know how to nurture you.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:10 pmDarryl: A child needs a mother to nuture {sic} it and a father for strict discipline and guidance
– - I know some pretty tough lesbians. And if a kid had TWO fathers, would that be too much discipline and guidance?
July 14th, 2008 at 3:11 pmDamn damn damn damn damn. Why do I always have to leave for work right when my man Daryll appears? Damn why does god hate me?
July 14th, 2008 at 3:11 pmHey D(ipshit)arryl,
Go outside and look at the Sun.
Every fcuking “god” in every religion is a direct interpretation of “sun worship”.
But if you’re only historical context is a fictional book, then even the Sun can’t help you.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:12 pmI think we finally found out Daryll’s identity:
Daryll = Man-On-Dog Rick Santorum!
July 14th, 2008 at 3:12 pmI think it’s basically a ploy to gin up the wedge issue for the California same-sex marriage initiative. Gotta get those troglodytes out there, doncha know…
July 14th, 2008 at 3:12 pmHey Darryl,
Remember when your uncle used to tell you to “bend over and feel the power of Jesus.”
He was raping you.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:13 pmMcCain is short on understanding anything that postdates the wheel.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:15 pmDaryll Says:
In reality, they are not fine. They are severely confused. It is time for us, as a nation, to join together and pray the gay out of society. It can be done through Christ Jesus.
Daryll, you can’t even pray the gay out of yourself. How do you expect to do it for an entire nation?
July 14th, 2008 at 3:15 pmAnother example of Repuglycan:
I’ve got my adopted kids, eff off, gays!
July 14th, 2008 at 3:15 pm“Darryl”: It is time for us, as a nation, to join together and pray the gay out of society.
– - Looks like John McCain has finally figured out how to get online.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:15 pmMcCain was swiftboated in ‘00 by Bush’s KKKarl, including rumors he had a Black child out of wedlock. That child, of course, is in the above photo & is adopted.
Think about that.
Would you, if running for President 8 years later, allow that same team to hold a charity event, (Bush’s Golf War), in your name?
Republics will kiss your ass as long as your ass is Republic
July 14th, 2008 at 3:15 pmDaryll Says:
No, you stop supporting sin. An adult man and woman, regardless of age, can marry as long as it is by biblical principles. Don’t you think two women/men a relationship would confuse the child about procreation and morality?
July 14th, 2008 at 3:08 pm
_____
Nope. Gay people are perfectly capable of explaining the birds and bees to their children when they reach the appropriate age. And they won’t confuse their kids with a “morality” that persecutes gays or other minorities.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:16 pmDaryll Says:
It does not matter. Jesus said homosexuality is wrong. And I am forever entrusted in him instead of the world.
We’re still waiting for you to quote Jesus on the subject, Daryll. This whole parody thing breaks down if you don’t.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:17 pmDaryll – YOU go pray. I gave up on it. I came to understand that there isn’t some omniscient being up there directing my life…I direct my own life. Frankly, I probably would’ve turned out much better if I had had gay parents…I’m constantly undervaluing myself because of what occurred with my alcoholic father. You have a sense that things fall neatly into categories – BUT THEY DON’T. The world isn’t defined by the Bible…WE defined the Bible. Don’t get the two confused.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:17 pmDaryll, if it’s that easy to pray away the gay, couldn’t we just pray away the hate, fear and stupidity in society instead?
July 14th, 2008 at 3:18 pmFor the life of me I will never understand how there are gays in the Republican party. They stand against everything that gays are working for. How can they be so self-loathing as to join organizations like the Log Cabin Republicans and vote Republican?
I have gay friends who adopted a 2 year old abandoned, neglected female child. They (males) have been her mommy and daddy for 5 years now and I have to say that Mindy is the most well-adjusted, bright and well mannered child I have ever met. She has in no way suffered from her upbringing by two males who love each other. When they adopted Mindy she was so withdrawn (she was physically abused by her foster family) it took them months to get her to even say their names. Today she’s about as normal a child as you would ever meet. She would have suffered if she had been put into another foster home and then another and then another. The agency had been trying to place her with a heterosexual couple but none were willing to take a chance on her.
It saddens me to know that John McCain is so cold hearted he would rather have seen Mindy consigned to foster family hell just so my friends, a very loving gay couple, could not adopt.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:18 pmTrippleKick Says:
Frankly I don’t believe that it is an extremist point of view to prefer that adopted children be adopted by traditional families rather than gay couples. I think you’d be hard pressed to find average americans who would disagree with this. Please note that despite the inflammatory headline, McCain never said that the children should rather stay unadopted rather than be adopted by a gay couple.
McBush ducked the question, sure. But he said “I don’t believe in gay adoption.” That’s about as definitive as we’re going to get from McBush on any subject. That was a pathetic try on your part.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:18 pmZo…I guess I should pray myself out of existence. I am SO glad I gave up religion…it does nothing but confuse people.

July 14th, 2008 at 3:21 pmWhat did Jesus say?
“Try the fish?”
No wait, that was Al from Happy Days.
What’s the difference.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:22 pmDaryll,
When your sexual preference runs to masturbation while reading the Bible and ramming a lubed crucifix up your ass, there won’t be any children to worry about. Frankly I would rather kids get adopted by a gay couple than the strange fckwit that poses as “Daryll”.
How do you get the shit off your Christ Brother Daryll?
July 14th, 2008 at 3:23 pmAbd whose words are you looking at? The words in the Bible? Are you not a heathen for judging people, you hypocrit!
July 14th, 2008 at 3:23 pmPoor, poor DeludeDaryll.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:23 pmKick that crutch that is your phony religion out and walk like a man.
hussein toasterhead Says:
Nope. Gay people are perfectly capable of explaining the birds and bees to their children when they reach the appropriate age. And they won’t confuse their kids with a “morality” that persecutes gays or other minorities.
They are actually more likely to teach their kids about the birds and the bees. The most sexually active kids I have known (through raising my daughter) are kids of heterosexual couples who either couldn’t be bothered or were too embarrassed to teach their kids about sex.
Personally, I would have loved to have a loving gay couple as my parents. Instead I got serial cheating, mentally abusing, alcoholic parents who, had I been another personality type, would have broken my spirit forever. I know this to be true because they broke my two sisters. I was the only one to survive and be healthy, and that was simply because I was born a rebel.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:23 pmRalph Nader supports gay marriage and gay adoption.
So.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:24 pmMany small businessmen who happen to be gay may identify better with the GOP, for example.
Every gay, small or even large business owner I know is a died in the wool Democrat.
What are you sniffing?
Oh right, you don’t know any gays, cause their too “icky” for you.

July 14th, 2008 at 3:25 pmDaryll…you make me sick to think that EVERYTHING revolves around this God thing. Can you pull your head out of your ass and LOOK AT WHAT IS GOING ON AROUND YOU?
July 14th, 2008 at 3:26 pmDaryll, Jesus tied his ass to a tree and walked five miles to Jerusalem. Doesn’t prove he was gay, but, man, that guy musta had one loose caboose!
July 14th, 2008 at 3:26 pmDaryll, you made this same statement on the LAST gay thread you inhabited, and when asked for chapter and verse, you fled.
Can you back it up this time?
When and where did Jesus say homosexuality is wrong?
July 14th, 2008 at 3:26 pmTrippleKick Says:
Bilbo,
Please understand that “gay rights” are not the only issues that gays deal with. Gays are not one dimensional and have diverse political opinions. Many small businessmen who happen to be gay may identify better with the GOP, for example.
I’m sorry, but I could never identify with a party that basically hated me and what I represented even if all their other views were the same as mine. You know why? Because my self-respect comes first. Without it, I would not be healthy and I would not be happy.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:28 pmHappy Days started its nosedive when they replaced Arnold with Al.

Daryll, you made this same statement on the LAST gay thread you inhabited, and when asked for chapter and verse, you fled.

I’ve asked that over and over. Daryll just ignores the question because he knows he’s just inserting (sorry) his own opinion into Jesus.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:28 pmRob and Jim are NOT going to be teaching their children gay sex techniques anymore than Rob and Janet would be teaching anything less than age-appropriate lessons in their discussion of heterosexual sex. It’s ALL about the sex for you, isn’t it Daryll? (Or lack thereof.)
July 14th, 2008 at 3:28 pmI was abused as a child by my stepfather, so I have *very* strong feelings about this.
Anyone who condemns any child either to the abuse of unfit druggie parents or to the abuse they suffer in foster homes as opposed to letting them be adopted to ANY loving home (with any combination of loving adults – FF/MM/FM/Single) is a fcking MONSTER.
John McCain = MONSTER.
Darryl – I hope go see Jesus. Soon. I’m sick to death of you.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:29 pmyou might as well let apes raise the child.
At least they’d stand a better chance of being well-balanced, and not a complete lunatic, fundamentalist fcukwit like you!
July 14th, 2008 at 3:32 pmDarryl – I hope YOU go see Jesus. Soon. I’m sick to death of you.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:32 pmDaryll, your skills as a parody troll are widely admired here on TP, but your reputation is going to take a hit if you keep ducking the persistent, nagging question:
When and where (in what book, chapter and verse) did Jesus say homosexuality was wrong?
July 14th, 2008 at 3:32 pmI guess I deserved that moderation comment. Darryl, stop being obtuse and tell us what you really think. Gay people should be burned at the stake, right?
July 14th, 2008 at 3:33 pmI’d take my chances with apes over you and your mate, Daryll.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:33 pmSo it’s okay for a gay women to stick an egg fertilized in a lab up her “woo-hoo”, but not okay to adopt.
YOU’RE COMPLETELY FULL OF SHIT.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:33 pmJesus, heads up buddy, these sick fcks are ruining your name by preaching their message of hate.
God, damn these false Christians. Please burn Daryll’s church to the ground and shoot any survivors that get out. I am asking for this sign, a tiny sign that you exist. If Daryll is still here next Monday, I am going to have to assume that you are as real as the Tooth Fairy. Deal?
July 14th, 2008 at 3:33 pmyou might as well let apes raise the child
I’d rather have apes adopting a child than you. No child should be punished by having a father with such a screwed up world view.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:34 pmSorry, Nanlichi – I do not have the power to protect you from idiots. As I constantly tell Gabriel…this is a human problem they need to work out amongst themselves. Your Loving God
July 14th, 2008 at 3:35 pmHas McCain consulted with Dick Cheney regarding his lesbian daughter’s plan for a family?
Has Parodyll been thoroughly wacked, to which we can expect bilblt to show up (in the third person)?
On a serious note, if, God forbid, something were to happen to me and my wife, and no other family member could take care of our children, I’d gladly want them raised with “two dads” or “two moms”, rather than hopping from one foster family to another, never knowing consistent love.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:36 pmAlso, most abuse (sexual, physical, mental) usually occurs from heterosexual parents. Just sayin….
YO DARYLL!
WHEN DID JESUS SAY HOMOSEXUALITY WAS WRONG?
BOOK, CHAPTER, VERSE
THANKS.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:38 pmOk, thanks for the consideration. I didn’t think you would smite the whole lot of them, but I hear you work in mysterious ways so I thought it was worth a shot.
I am sorry folks, I am so tired of Daryll’s hate filled screeds. It is sad that there are people out there as sick and twisted as these fundamentalists. Our country and our society would be better off without hese hateful bastards amongst us, but as GeeDubs points out, we are going to have to deal with them by ourselves.
It’s been fun poking at Daryll, but I think a flag on sight is how I will take the situation in my own hands.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:47 pmFirst off, let me say that it is quite honorable that McCain adopted a child, especially one of different ethnicity. He does get my respect, albeit a rarity.
But, I wonder how he would feel if he was told that adopting such child is wrong, because of the different skin color, that it would confuse the child.
Unfortunately, there are some who still think that way (Hey Parodyll!)
July 14th, 2008 at 3:48 pmDaryll Says
July 14th, 2008 at 3:15 pm
It does not matter. Jesus said homosexuality is wrong. And I am forever entrusted in him instead of the world.
______________________________________________________________
Do you mind quoting chapter and verse where Jesus actually said that homosexuality is wrong? That doesn’t seem to appear in my bible.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:50 pmnanlichi at #99,
July 14th, 2008 at 3:53 pmI will respectfully disagree with you here.
These idiots should be called out at every opportunity.
As much as I’d like to erase the whole bunch of bigots, not only from this blog, but from society in general, it just won’t happen. Revealing them as the hypocrites that they are is much more advantageous than simply ignoring them.
Parodyll is just that, a parody of the (c)hristian right, but oh does he(?) portray it to a perfect T.
If he is not, then I eagerly confront him(?) for discussion!
Oh, dear. We seemed to have chased Daryll away by asking for a biblical citation for his claim.
That seems to happen a lot.
He’s so skittish.
July 14th, 2008 at 3:56 pmDaryll Says:
Sex is made for procreation, not recreation.
Then why did God make Orgasms?
July 14th, 2008 at 4:05 pmBut then again, maybe your wife doesn’t know anything about orgasms, that would figure…
DRxJ,
Is It a parody? Just an act? I used to think so, but Parodyll is too consistent to be performance art.
I agree that revealing them is probably the best way to exterminate them. The light of day is bad for vampires, termites, cockroaches and bigots hiding behind Jesus’ skirt. Another accidental silver lining in the black stain of the Bush years is the attention paid to these freaks. Because of the attention they are losing relevance hand over fist.
July 14th, 2008 at 4:06 pmWayne.
Good stuff!
Parodyll’s favorite joke:
“How can you tell when a woman has an orgasm?”
“Who cares!”
Unfortunately for Parodyll, you really shouldn’t live a joke!
(by the way, the above joke was a paid public service announcement approved by the GOP)
July 14th, 2008 at 4:12 pmPryotania Says:
July 14th, 2008 at 4:14 pmBlah blah blah abortion blah blah blah democratic blah blah blah please pay attention to me, please?
Say, Prytania – why don’t we take your idea one step further and simply sterilize ALL Republicans…?
July 14th, 2008 at 4:22 pmToday’s orphans are only kids, they probably won’t vote in his life time!
July 14th, 2008 at 4:29 pmQuestion for Daryll:
If a gay guy, who thinks he’s a woman, wants to make it with another guy, who is also gay, and thinks he’s a woman, wouldn’t that be like two women getting it on?
Just askin, as you’re the ultimate authority on all things gay…
July 14th, 2008 at 4:40 pmMcCain, would you have allowed your fellow POW to clean the crap out of your crack if you’d thought he was gay?
July 14th, 2008 at 4:41 pmPry – it’s your idea. Sounds good to me. Republicans *should* be extinct.
July 14th, 2008 at 4:41 pmDarryl is right. We need to look at the Bible to sort out issues of sexuality. For example, we need to force rapists to marry their victims. It is written:
“If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.”
Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT
July 14th, 2008 at 4:42 pmAlso, we need to kill all of the Iraqi men and get all of the Iraqi women over here for ourselves. It is written:
“As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you.”
Deuteronomy 20:10-14
July 14th, 2008 at 4:45 pmBTW, I think oil could be categorized under “other plunder”. God says it should be ours so let’s get it out of the ground and into my Hummer.
July 14th, 2008 at 4:47 pmDaryll Says:
That took a long time, Daryll, and none of it quotes Jesus.
Pitiful attempt.
July 14th, 2008 at 4:59 pmChina has forced abortions of Republican children?
That explains why we have to keep borrowing from them to pay for our wars.
July 14th, 2008 at 5:03 pmAh, the spoor of the ancient Pterodacdaryll litters this thread!
It’s cry sends smaller reptiles scurrying, lest they become its next meal:
“Libs, thus saith the Lord:
July 14th, 2008 at 5:05 pmRoman 1:26-27
1 Corinithians 6:9-10
1 Timothy 1:10
Jude 1:7!</em> ” it sceams as it passes overhead, looking for a rocky perch.
McSame-senile, backwards old fart not with the times…or perhaps his homophobia reflects something more interesting? (Darryll’s delirious ditherings also suggest similar issues.)
The Grand Oil Party is just waiting to lube itself up for another run on the ass of America and silly jackanapes that buy the prattle of hate. (OK–I know…sex negative, but I’m just a commie queer.)
“Adams HE; Wright LW Jr; Lohr BA. Is homophobia associated with homosexual arousal? J Abnorm Psychol 1996 Aug;105(3):440(c)445.
Department of Psychology, University of Georgia, Athens 30602(c)3013, USA.
The authors investigated the role of homosexual arousal in exclusively heterosexual men who admitted negative affect toward homosexual individuals. Participants consisted of a group of homophobic men (n = 35) and a group of nonhomophobic men (n = 29); they were assigned to groups on the basis of their scores on the Index of Homophobia (W. W. Hudson & W. A. Ricketts, 1980). The men were exposed to sexually explicit erotic stimuli consisting of heterosexual, male homosexual, and lesbian videotapes, and changes in penile circumference were monitored. They also completed an Aggression Questionnaire (A. H. Buss & M. Perry, 1992). Both groups exhibited increases in penile circumference to the heterosexual and female homosexual videos. Only the homophobic men showed an increase in penile erection to male homosexual stimuli. The groups did not differ in aggression. Homophobia is apparently associated with homosexual arousal that the homophobic individual is either unaware of or denies.
July 14th, 2008 at 5:05 pmDaryll, I’m afraid you just lost me. That was the weakest effort I’ve seen you attempt.
Your understanding of the bible is clearly superficial at best, and your performance is no longer convincing. You had a good long run, but it’s over, D. Take a bow today and avoid the trap of trying to stay in the game too long. You’ll just become a cruel joke. Daryll deserves better.
July 14th, 2008 at 5:11 pmDaryll, do you even know the difference between Jesus and Paul?
Sheesh.
July 14th, 2008 at 5:12 pmLOL…first I don’t care what your steaming pile of myth says but where does it say “Jesus says” in Romans?? Not to mention, others have a different view of that line anyway. The rights of people in the United States are not dependent on perverted interpretations of any book but rather upon the Constitution (which Cheney/Bush are currently using for toilet paper). Unless you want Sharia law, slavery, proper times to stone women and all the other nonsense and garbage that’s in that old, repeatedly translated and human written pastiche of nonsense.
See, e.g.,
http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_bibc5.htm
Wherein they note that Paul (not Jesus) goes on to burble about not judging others. LOL….oh well. I shall sin and judge you to be a wannabe cocksucker, Darryll, my boy.
July 14th, 2008 at 5:16 pmSo, basically, you’re saying “No.” You don’t know the difference between Jesus and Paul.
Or, at the very least, you don’t know the difference betweem “Jesus said” and “Paul said”.
Tell me, Daryll, is the Jesus who spoke through Paul the same Jesus who told you to call Mike Huckabee “President-elect” Huckabee?
And you’re still listening to him?
July 14th, 2008 at 5:22 pmIf you are proposing that two people of the same gender should have the option to adopt, you might as well let apes raise the child.
Nah, apes aren’t good at filling in all the paperwork.
July 14th, 2008 at 5:25 pmDaryll Says: YOU ARE GOING TO HELL IF YOU ARE A HOMOSEXUAL
Uh, no you’re not…there is no Hell, Daryll, it is a lie. Jesus is dead, God does not exist, you are one fcuked up subhuman.
July 14th, 2008 at 5:26 pmDaryll, you’re either a liar or you don’t know much about the Bible:
Unlike the Twelve Apostles, there is no indication that Paul, born in Tarsus, ever met Jesus before the latter’s crucifixion.[4] According to Acts, his conversion took place as he was traveling the road to Damascus, and experienced a vision of the resurrected Jesus.
(from The Complete Gospels, Robert J. Miller ed. and Acts 9:1-31, 22:1-22, 26:9-24)
July 14th, 2008 at 5:26 pmJesus speaks to you through jesus? Why does Jesus need an intermediary, and why does He use himself as that intermediary?
Weird.
And how do you reconcile your claim that “Paul witnessed Jesus’ actions” when, according to Acts, Paul was converted when he experienced a vision of the resurrected Jesus on the road to Damascus? Wouldn’t that mean that Jesus had already been crucified?
What is your source for this claim that Paul witnessed Jesus’s actions?

July 14th, 2008 at 5:31 pmOnce again, I feel it necessary to quote Paula Poundstone:
Yes, I suppose the wages of sin is death, but after they take taxes out, it’s more of just a tired feeling, actually.
July 14th, 2008 at 5:32 pmAnd Daryll, was it in one of these dreams that Jesus spoke to you and told you to go ahead and start calling him “President-elect” Huckabee, because it was already in the bag?
July 14th, 2008 at 5:34 pmYou would of thought that man had progressed beyond primitive superstition by now, but I guess the weak minded have got to cling to religion because they can’t comprehend what their environment is all about.
Do stars, sun and moon confuse you Daryll? Do you get all “askeerd” when a eclipse happens?

No dickhead – it’s YOUR interpretation of the word of God that is rejected – this is THE BIG PROBLEM with the lunatic evangelicals – the ONLY truth is what they say it is – bullsh!t
July 14th, 2008 at 6:01 pmDaryll, let’s talk.
You say you’re here to witness the word of God to us, right?
Well, it should be clear to you that your current approach isn’t working. While citing scripture may have an enormous impact on you and the way you live your life, you really shouldn’t expect it to be very powerful in convincing those who don’t put the same weight in the bible, or those who interpret it differently than you do.
Yet you don’t seem to account for these variables in your approach to us sinners.
If you’re really serious about reaching us, then you gotta change your approach.
On the other hand, if you’re not really concerned with whether we hear you or not, if your primary purpose is just to hear yourself preach or to see your words on a blog, and you’re comfortable blaming us for your failure. than by all means, carry on as you have been.
We do enjoy your performance, most of the time.
July 14th, 2008 at 6:08 pmI and my brother and sister (Blood) are adopted by the same family when I was 4 years old. There were two things stipulated in the adoption agreement. (My mother was still alive on her deathbed with cancer, Dad was killed in Korea) 1. We were not to ever be split up. 2. We were to be raised as Catholics.
July 14th, 2008 at 6:10 pmThe family that raised us was not Catholic. She(Mom)was Unitarian, He(Dad)was Presbyterian.Quite the mix. Anyhow, we were raised Catholic as promised. Went to private schools all my life, many years of theological studies. I even had opportunities to learn of/from other “Flavors” of religions including my adopted parents, Baptist, Mormon, Judaism, Buddhism, and Islam.
You want to know what I eventually learned from my studies?
It was all a big waste of time. Well, not really, cause at least I learned that there really is no God.
End of Story!
CHRISTIANITY: A Jewish zombie, if you eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that he is your master, will save you from some giant evil caused when a woman ate fruit off a magic tree because a talking snake told her to.
Yeah. I buy that.
NOT.

July 14th, 2008 at 6:19 pmPoor Daryll. That’s not Jesus talking to you in your dreams, that’s your Uncle Leonard, having his way with you after you pass out from the date rape drug.
Do you really think that Jesus would leave you with a sore butt in the morning?
“Get behind me Satan” doesn’t mean what you are praying for little buddy, Jesus and Satan aren’t battling for firsts and seconds on your sloppy ass.
Uncle Leonard, that’s just wrong. Poor Daryll is losing his mind. Leave the simple fool alone.
July 14th, 2008 at 6:22 pmgummitch, NO, and neither could Eli.
July 14th, 2008 at 6:53 pmthe proponets of abortion “muder” are the same clan that cry over adoption. If people do no have a heart for the life of the voiceless..surely they do not have a heart of love to raise a child properly. Granted that be man and women or man and man. Wicked people are wicked parents.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:36 am.
Does Senator McPreduice think single parents should neither be single or parents? Or should they too be denied the ability to raise children? What if that single parent was gay? Would McPreduice think otherwise?
QUESTION:
How does being gay disqualify you as credible to raise children?
.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:44 amDaryll, We have to talk. With a little more serious marketing we can really go places. Have your people call my people. Now you don’t really stay in character all the time do you? I mean I love the Andy Kaufman basis of your work but if I am gonna manage the act I need to know that you can turn it off. Know what I mean. Really D. , let’s talk. I’ll even buy that stupid mocha chino double espresso latte or whatever the hell sort of dumbass morning beverage your into.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:37 amQUESTION:
How does being gay disqualify you as credible to raise children?
It doesn’t. I live in the Bay Area, Northern California, just to the south of San Fransicso. I have quite a few gay friends and co-workers. Myself, a happily married 20 plus years hetrosexual male with one offspring ;-) Boy.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:52 amI must say that I really cannot see any difference between me and my families lifestyle and that of my gay friends with their partners. I have no problem with how they raise thier kids, and in fact I accept them, thier families and thier kind as I would anyone else.
The only reason I can think of that others can’t do this is because of so-called religion. It really is a shame.
according to the hate crimes bill many of you can be accused of religios intolerance and demeaning your fellow man. Thus possiabily inciting violence. Thanks be to God knowing Jesus isn’t about religion as being religious is as being a fragile believer in the lust for other men. Knowing Jesus grants the power to forgive.. though regardless of peoples refusal to acknowledge their God hate and refusal to repent from their guilt of sin. True eternal justice shall be deemed.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:58 amThe Bible has multiple verses that support polygamy, but these are the verses of the Bible that Daryll seems to ingore in his pick & choose approach to Christianity.
Jesus said that any man who divorces his wife for any reason other than sexual infidelity is committing adultry, yet the religious institutions allow divorced people to remarry without holding them to this one standard.
Considering that Sen. McCain got his marriage license to his second wife while still being married to his first wife makes his argument for “traditional couples” fall short. If he was looking forward to his second marriage while still in his first, that makes him not just and adulterer, it makes him a lying sinner who’s never made any effort to repudate his sin nore his transgression.
Adoption is about placing children in a family that provides love and acceptance. Until there are NO children waiting to be adopted, they cannot, and should not, deny adoption based on any outdated biblical standard.
July 15th, 2008 at 7:14 amHe supports ‘traditional’ adoption…? So he’d rather watch children who don’t have parents, never had any guidance or sense of importance, never had any kind of love or care, he’d rather watch those kid sit without those things for who knows how long. Just because, it’s against his ‘Republican traditional values’. The Republicans are sick human beings.

No he didn’t, Jesus died decades before Paul was converted.
It’s obvious that when you confuse Paul the author of the gospels with Paul of the twelve disciples, that you are not the bible reading Christian you pretend to be.
July 15th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
bit doesn’t believe that any Christian, or lawr199, wants to give up the Apostle Paul. Of course the meaning of what Paul says will be different to one who believes the Bible is the inspired word of God than it will to one who doesn’t believe anything about the Bible. Nonetheless, the Apostle Paul’s work was and is very important.
Most of what is known about grace – unmerited favor of God given through the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ – comes from the writings of the Apostle Paul. Much of this is centered in the book of Romans.
What Paul says is very important to Christians and to individuals. Perhaps Paul makes such a strong case for grace because he was such a needy recipient. Before his conversion Paul persecuted Christians.
Paul wrote some of the most beautiful words – ever. See I Corinthians 13 for an example.

This is misleading to the point of being untrue.
If by “…verses that support polygamy…” you mean endorse or encourage, you are simply wrong.
It was tolerated in the Old Testament, but in most cases the negative of practice are included in the Bible accounts of the practice. Of those “big names” who practiced polygamy their stories include how God had to “work around” the negative results of polygamy in their lives.. like in the case of Abraham or David.
The first record polygamist – Genesis 4 – was also a murderer.
The practice is not mentioned in the New Testament and the Apostle Paul gives directions that a leader – a shepherd of a congregation – should be the husband of one wife.
Christ says that the Creator intended that a man and a woman would be “one flesh.” This is in Matthew 19.

Poor Bitbit doesn’t seem to read or understand the Bible.
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law (the Old Testament) or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke or a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law (the Old Testament) until everything is accomplished. (Matthew 5:17-18)”
So all those verses on the Old testament that encouraged and supported polygamy are still valid!
