Poor Bitbit doesn't seem to read or understand the Bible.

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law (the Old Testament) or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke or a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law (the Old Testament) until everything is accomplished. (Matthew 5:17-18)"

So all those verses on the Old testament that encouraged and supported polygamy are still valid!

The Bible has multiple verses that support polygamy, but these are the verses of the Bible that Daryll seems to ingore in his pick & choose approach to Christianity.

This is misleading to the point of being untrue.

If by “…verses that support polygamy…” you mean endorse or encourage, you are simply wrong.

It was tolerated in the Old Testament, but in most cases the negative of practice are included in the Bible accounts of the practice. Of those “big names” who practiced polygamy their stories include how God had to “work around” the negative results of polygamy in their lives.. like in the case of Abraham or David.

The first record polygamist – Genesis 4 – was also a murderer.

The practice is not mentioned in the New Testament and the Apostle Paul gives directions that a leader – a shepherd of a congregation – should be the husband of one wife.

Christ says that the Creator intended that a man and a woman would be “one flesh.” This is in Matthew 19.

lawr1999 Says:

.
No he didn’t, Jesus died decades before Paul was converted.
It’s obvious that when you confuse Paul the author of the gospels with Paul of the twelve disciples, that you are not the bible reading Christian you pretend to be.
July 15th, 2008 at 5:02 pm

bit doesn’t believe that any Christian, or lawr199, wants to give up the Apostle Paul. Of course the meaning of what Paul says will be different to one who believes the Bible is the inspired word of God than it will to one who doesn’t believe anything about the Bible. Nonetheless, the Apostle Paul’s work was and is very important.

Most of what is known about grace – unmerited favor of God given through the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ – comes from the writings of the Apostle Paul. Much of this is centered in the book of Romans.

What Paul says is very important to Christians and to individuals. Perhaps Paul makes such a strong case for grace because he was such a needy recipient. Before his conversion Paul persecuted Christians.

Paul wrote some of the most beautiful words – ever. See I Corinthians 13 for an example.

He supports 'traditional' adoption...? So he'd rather watch children who don't have parents, never had any guidance or sense of importance, never had any kind of love or care, he'd rather watch those kid sit without those things for who knows how long. Just because, it's against his 'Republican traditional values'. The Republicans are sick human beings.

The Bible has multiple verses that support polygamy, but these are the verses of the Bible that Daryll seems to ingore in his pick & choose approach to Christianity.

Jesus said that any man who divorces his wife for any reason other than sexual infidelity is committing adultry, yet the religious institutions allow divorced people to remarry without holding them to this one standard.

Considering that Sen. McCain got his marriage license to his second wife while still being married to his first wife makes his argument for "traditional couples" fall short. If he was looking forward to his second marriage while still in his first, that makes him not just and adulterer, it makes him a lying sinner who's never made any effort to repudate his sin nore his transgression.

Adoption is about placing children in a family that provides love and acceptance. Until there are NO children waiting to be adopted, they cannot, and should not, deny adoption based on any outdated biblical standard.

according to the hate crimes bill many of you can be accused of religios intolerance and demeaning your fellow man. Thus possiabily inciting violence. Thanks be to God knowing Jesus isn't about religion as being religious is as being a fragile believer in the lust for other men. Knowing Jesus grants the power to forgive.. though regardless of peoples refusal to acknowledge their God hate and refusal to repent from their guilt of sin. True eternal justice shall be deemed.

QUESTION:
How does being gay disqualify you as credible to raise children?

It doesn't. I live in the Bay Area, Northern California, just to the south of San Fransicso. I have quite a few gay friends and co-workers. Myself, a happily married 20 plus years hetrosexual male with one offspring ;-) Boy.
I must say that I really cannot see any difference between me and my families lifestyle and that of my gay friends with their partners. I have no problem with how they raise thier kids, and in fact I accept them, thier families and thier kind as I would anyone else.
The only reason I can think of that others can't do this is because of so-called religion. It really is a shame.

Does Senator McPreduice think single parents should neither be single or parents? Or should they too be denied the ability to raise children? What if that single parent was gay? Would McPreduice think otherwise?

QUESTION:
How does being gay disqualify you as credible to raise children?

Poor Daryll. That's not Jesus talking to you in your dreams, that's your Uncle Leonard, having his way with you after you pass out from the date rape drug.

Do you really think that Jesus would leave you with a sore butt in the morning?

"Get behind me Satan" doesn't mean what you are praying for little buddy, Jesus and Satan aren't battling for firsts and seconds on your sloppy ass.

Uncle Leonard, that's just wrong. Poor Daryll is losing his mind. Leave the simple fool alone.

Still no St D. answer to my question of guy/girl on guy/girl ethics from post #113. Damn.
Anybody else here starting to feel sorry for this schmuck?

Note to St. D. ~ Stay out of oil baron mansions, no matter how bad your church needs the money.

Ouch. Just watched that the other night. Can St. D heal people?

CHRISTIANITY: A Jewish zombie, if you eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that he is your master, will save you from some giant evil caused when a woman ate fruit off a magic tree because a talking snake told her to.

Yeah. I buy that.

I and my brother and sister (Blood) are adopted by the same family when I was 4 years old. There were two things stipulated in the adoption agreement. (My mother was still alive on her deathbed with cancer, Dad was killed in Korea) 1. We were not to ever be split up. 2. We were to be raised as Catholics.
The family that raised us was not Catholic. She(Mom)was Unitarian, He(Dad)was Presbyterian.Quite the mix. Anyhow, we were raised Catholic as promised. Went to private schools all my life, many years of theological studies. I even had opportunities to learn of/from other "Flavors" of religions including my adopted parents, Baptist, Mormon, Judaism, Buddhism, and Islam.
You want to know what I eventually learned from my studies?
It was all a big waste of time. Well, not really, cause at least I learned that there really is no God.
End of Story!

Daryll, let's talk.

You say you're here to witness the word of God to us, right?

Well, it should be clear to you that your current approach isn't working. While citing scripture may have an enormous impact on you and the way you live your life, you really shouldn't expect it to be very powerful in convincing those who don't put the same weight in the bible, or those who interpret it differently than you do.

Yet you don't seem to account for these variables in your approach to us sinners.

If you're really serious about reaching us, then you gotta change your approach.

On the other hand, if you're not really concerned with whether we hear you or not, if your primary purpose is just to hear yourself preach or to see your words on a blog, and you're comfortable blaming us for your failure. than by all means, carry on as you have been.

We do enjoy your performance, most of the time.

Daryll Says:

——————————————————————————–
You refuse to accept the truth of God. I guess you don’t believe in moral order.

No dickhead - it's YOUR interpretation of the word of God that is rejected - this is THE BIG PROBLEM with the lunatic evangelicals - the ONLY truth is what they say it is - bullsh!t
