A billboard on display in Orange County, Florida shows the World Trade Center towers burning while telling passers-by: “Please Don’t Vote for a Democrat.” The local ABC News affiliate reports that the person responsible is a local musician “trying to help Republicans” but that “officials with both political parties are calling the billboard inappropriate.”

Fear, Fear, Fear, Fear, Fear, Fear!!!!
GOPigs, the party of stupidity, fear, and arseholes.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:56 pmWho needs terrorists when we have Republicans?
July 15th, 2008 at 12:57 pmGreat graphic. Completely contradicts the intended message.
I love it.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:58 pmAnd 9/11 occurred on which party's watch>? After which party ignored the warnings given by the previous administration of which party?
Wrong.
Wrong.
Wrong.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:58 pmCan we start calling them WrongPublicans?
Wow - check out these craptastic rhymes:
July 15th, 2008 at 12:58 pm
"And 9/11 occurred on which party’s watch? After which party ignored the warnings given by the previous administration of which party?"
It just boggles my mind...
July 15th, 2008 at 12:59 pmClassy.
Republicans know they got nothin' left to run on, so they appeal to the lizard brain.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:59 pmJust disgusting. Really, I'm at a loss for words.
Do these idiots not remember that a REPUBLICAN was PRESIDENT WHEN THAT HAPPENED?
Oh wait, they probably watched path to 9/11, did no research on their own, and took DISNEY's take on world events as gospel.
The good news is that anyone who takes that ridiculous billboard seriously was never voting Democratic in the first place. It will only appeal to the 20%-mouthbreathing-knuckledragging-intelligent-design-believing-piss-soaked-fear-junkies.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:59 pmworst singer ever defending the party of the worst president ever

July 15th, 2008 at 1:03 pmOnce again the vile reich-wing attempts to use 9/11 for political gain. Reich-wingers are desperate.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:04 pmTruly stupefying. They are now trying to conflate 9/11 with the Democratic Party, hoping that their audience will somehow "misremember" their history and believe that this happened when Democrats were in office.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:06 pmSame background on the billboard, but:
Republican President
July 15th, 2008 at 1:07 pmRepublican-controlled Congress

Let this racist pig know how you feel. Remind him 911 was on Bush's watch. He's his e-mail.

July 15th, 2008 at 1:07 pmRemember 9/11:
happened under a REPUBLICAN (court-appointed) PREZ and a REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED CONGRESS.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:08 pmFirst thought on viewing the billboard was: Shameless Republicans Suck.
Wasn't that the intent?
July 15th, 2008 at 1:08 pmSo, Bush recieved a memo that said, "Bin Laden determined to strike the United States." He did nothing. They struck, and it is the Democrats fault? Does anyone else have some trouble following this reasoning?
July 15th, 2008 at 1:09 pmMaybe I'm missing something, but wasn't there a Republican president and Republican controlled congress when the twin towers were attacked?
July 15th, 2008 at 1:09 pm9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11
BE AFRAID. VOTE REPUBLICAN.
Experimentation, this might get screwed up and not work. If it does, I'm surprised we haven't seen this somewhere yet.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:10 pmOn the other hand, this is going to be a pretty pathetic campaign for the Repubs if this is all they have in their toolbox. They might as well have nominated Giuliani.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:10 pmIt must be getting pretty bad when they're reduced to begging people to not vote for their opponents.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:11 pmI'd say that's a very defensive position.
A 'playing not to lose' and hoping to get a win dumped in their lap attitude.
“Please Don’t Vote for a Democrat.” . . . because God knows an attack like 9/11 would never happen on a Republican President's watch . . . . . oops ...
Just saying . . .
July 15th, 2008 at 1:11 pmeh, you can see what I was going for...
July 15th, 2008 at 1:11 pmThat billboard sums up the 21st century Republican Party:
(1) Politicize a national catastrophe;
(2) Which happened on the Republicans' watch;
(3) Try to market your crappy music by listing your web site.
The fact that the guy has no musical talent whatsoever is just icing on the cake.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:11 pmA. Lonely Guy, sexually stimulated by Captain America, and his heroically-drawn bulges, dresses in his flag shirt, and heads for the local Starbucks, to intimidate the hairy, commie-libs...

July 15th, 2008 at 1:11 pmAnyone in Orange County have a paintball gun?
Use it first on the billboard, but save a couple of balls for that pus-gut redneck POS.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:12 pmYou don't have to be dumb to be a Republican but it helps.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:13 pmWell, missmolly, I guess they figured it worked with Saddam, why not try it with their OTHER enemy, the Democratic Party?
July 15th, 2008 at 1:13 pmYeah, its safer to build oil rigs in the sea than building skyscrapers. Read yourself: Bush features offshore drilling. I guess its totally free of any involvement into his old business. Wait..... what was it again? The oil business?!!! Such a freaaaaaking coincidence.
http://ccoaler.blogspot.com/2008/07/bush-mentions-offshore-drilling.html
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Under the backdrop of a deteriorating economic picture, President Bush said Tuesday he is taking action to help people with falling home values and high gas prices.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:13 pmBush highlighted plans to stabilize the mortgage lenders Fannie Mae (FNM, Fortune 500) and Freddie Mac (FRE, Fortune 500) and lift the ban on offshore oil drilling as two steps his administration is taking to address some of the nation's economic ills.
I wonder what the reaction would be if the billboard had the exact same graphics, but said "Please don't vote for a Republican"? I imagine that the Republican Party would call it offensive, inflammatory, exploitative, and unfair -- even though they WERE in charge when that tragedy happened.
And they'd be right.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:13 pmNo matter what the Republicans say, Democrats were not responsible for the attacks of 9/11. This billboard is disgusting, nauseating, and deeply offensive to anyone from New York. The truly sad part is that too many Americans believe the crap like this that the right wing is spewing.
If you love your country, you won't ever let the Republicans control it again.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:14 pm....if you do there won't be another attack?
How does one conclude that the attack on 09/11/2001 was the fault of the party not in power? republicans seem to believe that everything is the democrats' fault, regardless of facts or history, so that's really what it comes down to.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:14 pmAnother Republican shows how truly disgusting their tactics are. They feel the only way to gain anything is through fear, hatred, & distortion.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:14 pmOrange County, soooo elitist...
July 15th, 2008 at 1:15 pmVt is a nice place. You'll never see this dumb shit there
July 15th, 2008 at 1:15 pmA desperate man takes desperate measures for a desperate party.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:15 pmMaybe someone should put up a competing "Don't Vote For A Republic" billboard showing a gas pump at $ 4.50 a gallon, along with a foreclosure sign and a toxic waste dump.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:15 pmListen TrippleHick, the leadership has been most Republican since 9/11. Where's Osama?

July 15th, 2008 at 1:16 pm9/11 happened on the watch of a Republican President, Republican Congress, Republican governor of NY, and Republican Mayor of NYC, who decided, against advice, to put emergency services headquarters in the WTC (which had already been bombed once) instead of in a secure location in Brooklyn.
But "don't vote for a Democrat".
These guys must go through an awful lot of underdrawers.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:16 pm"Please don't vote for a Democrat"

And he's going to vote for McCain.
Again, this is FLA people, birthplace of the American redneck.
I do like fishing there though.

The New York Mayor was a Republican. The New York Governor was a Republican.
But as usual the "Party of Personal Responsibility" will turn around and blame everything on the Democrats just like Bush yesterday and today with oil drilling and the economy.
The only damn president who says: "I can't waive a magic wand" to lower gas prices but I can violate the Constitution and like MC Hammer: "You can't touch this."
July 15th, 2008 at 1:17 pmFunny, that billboard doesn't work with the word Democrat....thinking people know that the correct word should be "Republican"!
Florida is a very scary state by the way!
July 15th, 2008 at 1:18 pmQuite a long way to go to try and sell shitty music. His brain works as poorly as his voice.

These repukes are doing exactly what they said they would do.... OBSTRUCT CONGRESS THEN BLAME CONGRESS FOR GETTING NOTHING DONE.
We have had record number of filibusters from the GOP and look at their tactics.
Do the repukes think We the People are that stupid to fall for such a simplistic idiotic billboard? This should insult many... even the gopers.

July 15th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
Not true for several reasons. First of all, the Democrats did have a plan for dealing with terrorism. Once they determined that bin laden was responsible for the bombing of the USS Cole, the Democrats put together an appropriate response and, because it was late in December and they didn't want to start a war right before leaving (which we all know Bush intends to do), they handed the plan off to the Republicans who did......nothing. Until 9/11. Then they started doing pretty much everything in that plan.
And besides, the Democrats aren't the ones in charge of the country, so why do you conservatives insist that they must be the ones to come up with a plan? Is it because you know the "plan" the Republicans have been using will never work (Shoot first, think later)?
And secondly, Americans do not vote for a Commander-in-Chief. We vote for a President, who has the additional duty of being the C-in-C of the Armed Forces. If you think you are voting for a military leader, then you must think we live in a military police state.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:20 pmNo wonder this "musician" has to advertise on billboards, he sucks...

I guess pledging to reduce troop levels in Iraq in accordance with their leaders desires, sending more troups to fight the growing threat in Afghanistan and going after Bin Laden is a bad plan. It truly would be best to keep fueling the hatred and wait forever for political reconcilliation in Iraq. Hey maybe we could further stretch our military and foment more anti-American hatred by attacking Iran! Jeez what a maroon! Is Dribbles actually Michael O'Hanlon?

July 15th, 2008 at 1:27 pmProgressives don't 'ban' things we disagree with. Progressives turn the attention back onto the facts and issues - you know, the way adults would.
The best way to continue the self-destruction of the republican brand is to give them as much rope as they request. They will surely hang themselves. Our best opportunity is to let America see the GOP the way we see them: criminal, unpatriotic, racist, authoritarians.

July 15th, 2008 at 1:29 pmIgnore CrippledHick, just as he ignores reality.
The last sensible thing that came from his mouth was when he asked his mom to change his shorts because he'd soiled them again.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:30 pmIt's been SEVEN YEARS since 9/11 and still, no bin laden. Instead, all the reich-wing leadership can do is constantly criticize the Democratic plans and strategy while not offering any sensible alternative. That’s exactly why reich-wing are seen as soft on terror.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:30 pmOK dick's tricklingdischarge:
I'll lay one on you. If you have one last vestige of intellectual curiosity and do seek the truth, then I encourage you to watch the Zeitgeist movie. Just do the google on it, it's somewhere in the tubes. Specifically, watch the segment on 9-11.

But then you are a dumbass Republican yourself, so we cannot expect much in the way of critical thinking from your ilk.

9/11 occurred and went unpunished with a reich-wing president and a reich-wing majority in the House and Senate. Fact.

Hey 007 James D0uche,
You’re a freaking troll doing the tired old “I’m a Progressive!” routine. We’ve seen it before, you don’t fool anyone. In fact, I think I recognize your tone, you are Progress Rocks, or whoever.
You suck, and that’s sad. Come to terms with it, you’ll be much better off.
Seriously, give up and go do something else, no one gives a sh!t about you.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:34 pm"I was a US Navy enlisted recruiter (E-5, known as "Petty Officer Second Class") between'99 and '02, which you will likely remember includes 9/11/01. I personally enlisted over 200 young men and women into service for the US Navy, both before and after the attacks on 9/11. I was reminded by your billboard that there is no level to which our countrymen will not stoop to make political points, or, more to the point, a dollar. It's unfortunate that what I saw as a unifying moment in our nation's history, you saw as a good ad copy. Our enemies in Al Qaeda have outright stated in their own propaganda that they intend to drive our nation into chaos, by miring us in an unwinnable war and driving wedges between our people. It saddens me to see your propaganda, catering to exactly that latter portion.
As a former serviceman, I must also take exception to your violation of the US Flag Code, to wit Section 176, which states: "(i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever," as well as "(j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform." While I can understand that your particular brand of feigned patriotism in the service of your chosen career necessitates that you "wrap yourself in the flag," I cannot understand why someone so securely ensconced in that feigned patriotism would not carry the facade to its natural conclusion, and treat the flag with the respect you fail to show your countrymen.
You, sir, may be a musician, but if you are a patriot it is only to sell your song. I commend you for your free market approach, but I cannot condone your lack of respect for the flag on which that free market stands. How would you react to someone burning a flag in front of you? Or perhaps wiping their face on a US Flag having eaten a big meal? I feel much the same, I imagine, seeing that flag wrapped around your girth in support of your attack on your countrymen. In case you have not heard, sir, it was not Democrats who attacked the World Trade Center on 9/11/01. Indeed, a Democratic outgoing president (Bill Clinton, the 42nd president) specifically warned a Republican incoming (George W. Bush, the 43rd president) that Al Qaeda would be his number one concern. If you must place the blame for violence committed against our countrymen on Americans, why not place it on those who were in power when the attack was being planned, and who did nothing to prevent it? Or perhaps on those, like yourself, who have not ceased to capitalize on it?"

That’s exactly why democrats are seen as soft on terror.
This poster seems to think that by wanting to keep the Constitution and Bill of Rights intact, democrats are 'soft on terror". I'd like to know just what that means - soft on terror. If being hard on terror got us to this place, then maybe being soft is a better alternative. Your way sucks.
Bin laden still around. no convictions from the sham trials and torture. ME in flames, Gas at $5.00 a gallon, inflation up, jobs down, soldiers over-stretched, recruiting 50 year old men, stock market down, etc...It doesn't seem like your side has actually done anything for the American people.
What have they done for you?
July 15th, 2008 at 1:34 pmUmmm, those towers came down UNDER RETHUGLIC PARTY RULE!!!
July 15th, 2008 at 1:34 pmHey 007 James D0uche, now Progressive James Bond:
July 15th, 2008 at 1:35 pmCan you refute ANY of the things I said in my email to this idiot? I highly doubt it.
dbadass: yeah, that Goliath fought like hell. Wound up snapping my line after about a 20 minute fight. Must have been a 100 pounder plus, who knows. Unfortunately I was rigged for the kingfish.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:35 pmExcellent email, bkarasek.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:35 pmWouldn't terrorists vote for the party in power during the worst terrorist attack in US history? If terrorists could vote, wouldn't they vote republican? Osama Bin Laden must be so happy about all that.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:36 pmOh and that's really cute James, how you imply that Progressives and Democrats want America to lose it's fight in Afghanistan just because we are fact-oriented and said that indeed we ARE losing at the moment due to W's mismanagment.
Really, it's cute.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:36 pmNot quite, Matt. The American people were punished with seven years of war and the looting of our treasury.
Mission Accomplished!
July 15th, 2008 at 1:36 pmSad thing is, this will probably work. We can argue logic all we want, but the Shock Doctrine continues to pay benefits. How do we stop it is my question?
July 15th, 2008 at 1:36 pmYou're delusional, Triplekick. First of all, do you think for even a second that if any Democrat went up to the White House and said, "President Bush, I have a foolproof plan to defeat terrorism throughout the world," that Bush would even listen? I doubt it. It was never their place or responsibility to come up with a plan, so why do you berate them for not doing so? The only thing that makes sense is that you see the current plan as a colossal failure and you wish there was something else, even if it came from a Democrat.
That’s exactly why democrats are seen as soft on terror.
Apart from being just another Republican lie, they've been throwing that one around since long before 9/11. So your logic is flawed. Conservatives (the political side that stupid people often flock to) have always said that, even when there wasn't any factual basis on which to make the claim.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:37 pmJames Bond,
You suck at this, you really do. Do you honestly think that ANYONE here believes you are a Progressive?

July 15th, 2008 at 1:42 pmNo true Progressive or true Democrat wants American losses ANYWHERE. The ONLY reason that a loss in Afghanistan or Iraq might be politically helpful to Democrats is because REPUBLICANS are the ones managing things (and I use that word very loosely). It shows what morons they really are, that they can't be trusted to run anything.
Afghanistan was actually JUSTIFIED. That's where Al Qaeda, the people who actually attacked us, were hiding.
Iraq was NEVER justified. There were NO WMD's. Saddam was NOT a threat to the United States. Saddam had NO connection to 9/11. Iraq was about nothing more than feeding the military industrial complex. Iraq has been nothing but beneficial to OBL and AQ.

July 15th, 2008 at 1:43 pmChill Guys. Let these dupes have the fantasy that Republicans are going to do well this November.
On November 5th we'll wake up with Democrats controlling 2 of the 3 branches of government and after 8 years of Obama, hopefully the Supreme Court will return to the 21st century instead of the 19th.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:43 pmWhat the fck is up with DribbleDick?
I love it. A catastrophic failure to prevent American deaths falls directly on the president, who happens to be Republican.
A Republican controlled government for 4 years does absolutely nothing to resolve the issues of terrorism. In fact, it starts an unnecessary "war" that kills thousands of more Americans, as well as hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. The economy is in the $hits due to a Republican lead government, and when a Democrats due gain barely a leadership almost 2 years ago, the Republicans do nothing but filibuster. BUT, it's the Democrats who've failed to have a plan the last 7 years.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Typical! This administration can never take the blame for anything. We sure as hell wouldn't want the a$$ licking followers like DribbleDick to counter them, now would we????
July 15th, 2008 at 1:43 pmProgressive James Bond:
So this is why Republicans are more trustworthy than Democrats? Because you can't even be real about what you really think? Because you steal other people's names and commit intellectual fraud by making it seem like they are saying things they are not?
NO ONE here believes Uncle Ho said those things.
Give it up, KILL YOURSELF if you want to talk about killing people. It will be the most useful thing you've ever done.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:44 pmIt seems a strange situation when the topic here is a serious one. The folks I know and admire, come to the debate with facts and valid points of view. The newbies show up and throw sh!t at everything. They don't discuss the actual topic, they toss out the daily talking points and believe they have the upper hand. That is the problem when your facts all come from Fox news - you think you have achieved something, but in fact have only shown yourself to be a fool.
I would think that pure self-respect would keep them from displaying their juvenile positions and insults - but again, they believe they are the knowlegable ones. Within their small group of bed-wetters, they just might be the smart ones. In the wide open world, they are woefully uninformed and inadequate.
Try impressing us with facts - real facts - for a change.

You're damn right the Democrats are criticizing. Perhaps the Dems have lost sight of the pinata. But the Repubs have for too long been crazily swinging a bat all over the place, hitting everything but the target.

Truly stupefying. They are now trying to conflate 9/11 with the Democratic Party, hoping that their audience will somehow “misremember” their history and believe that this happened when Democrats were in office.
That's ok, Bush was on the radio this morning saying that the poor economy is the Democrats fault. Up is down, black is white, everything that comes out of a Republican's mouth is a load of crap. The good news is that a majority of the people in this country finally get it.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:01 pmYou have to admire the cognitive dissonance of which the right is not only capable, but proud.

"They can have their opinion. It's a free country, if they want to pay for the ad. I'm sure it's expensive," resident Louis Champeau told Eyewitness News.
The company that owns the billboard, Beech Outdoor Advertising, views it as a fundamental first amendment issue and for that reason wouldn't censor the ad. The billboard will be up until after the November election....

Compare that to what President George W. Bush said on Sept 11, 2001:
“We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them.”
Now compare those facts with the constitution:
Article III, Section 3, Clause 1:
Clause 1: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.
Now, you tell me which party supports Treason, and which party wants to keep us safe?
July 15th, 2008 at 2:14 pmherr dubyah has the lowest approval rating of any president in history. That explains it all. And, don't forget:
9/11 occurred and went unpunished with a reich-wing president and a reich-wing majority in the House and Senate.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:15 pmActually I was referring to the pics he put up of some d0uche-bag giving the middle finger with the "Fu(k you lawrence and liberal traitor" sign photoshop in next to it. The challenge posed to him was to write a sign that says "I'm Trajan75" and be actually HOLDING it in the picture. He couldn't do it for obvious reasons haha.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:15 pmActually, Triplekick, the war in Iraq continues because the president refuses to sign any budgets that don't fund it. BTW, do you believe that the president is allowed to raise and support his own armies, separate from the ones that Congress raises?
July 15th, 2008 at 2:16 pmThat's cute, especially your name, little guy.
Did you forget that the Congressional approval rating applies to the REPUBLICANS in Congress as well?
Did you forget that the REASON nothing is getting done is every hearing, every bill, every EVERYTHING the Dems try to do the Republicans just block, filibuster, whine, cry etc etc?
Did you forget that one of the reasons WHY the approval rating is so low is that Americans want the Iraq War to END, which is why Dems were put in charge in 06?
July 15th, 2008 at 2:18 pmSo don't vote for a Democrat....9/11 happened on a REPUBLIC WATCH....they KNEW in advance that it was going to happen and did NOTHING to stop it.

The number one reason for this is the dis-satisfaction the American people have because Congress won't begin impeachment proceedings. In addition, the dis-satisfaction is due to the bowing to the preznit at all times, and in all ways (FISA).

2) Get used to it. Your party will be the minority voice for a LONG time after what W has wrought.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:23 pmOh and one last thing:
The voters will continue to educate us, by which I can only assume you mean by voting Republican...
Like they did in '06? Like they did in a whole lot of special elections in HEAVILY Republican districts where a Dem has been elected in DECADES, but has been now? Educated like that? If so, then THAT is an education I won't sleep with my head on my desk all the way through.

Oh, and by the way, when special forces commanders asked for more ground troops back in Tora bora in '03 when we had Bin Laden cornered, why wasn't he given the troops requested?
July 15th, 2008 at 3:07 pmtripplemoron,
Just so you know. The reason the billboard is not effective is because it reminds voters that herr dubyah failed to deal with the threat of Al Queda and repeatedly failed to kill or capture Osama, even when OBL was offered up by the Afghanis and even when OBL was literally in the crosshairs. herr dubyah's administration completely failed. herr dubyah had real intelligence prior to 9/11 that the attack was going to happen, but herr dubyah ignored the threat and stayed on vacation. 7 years later and bin laden is still on the loose and still free to continue his operations against America. herr dubyah failed at the sake America. There were copious amounts of Americans killed by al queda during 9/11, but herr dubyah ignored the threat. The fact remains that Clinton warned herr dubyah about bin laden and AQ, but herr dubyah did not do his job effectively. If herr dubyah did his job effectively, we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now. We all know where his priorities were at the time.....a long vacation.

So much for the party of "personal responsibility" -- even though Bushco was warned about a possible terrorist attack involving jetliners, even though 9/11 occurred on their watch, even though they haven't caught Osama bin Laden, even though their actions in the ME have become Al Qaeda's biggest recruiting tool, even though their foreign policy has resulted in our being hated world-wide more than at any time in history, even though the quagmire they have created in Iraq has drained precious military resources away from the battle we SHOULD be fighting against OBL's Al Qaeda, your finger points to Clinton as the cause of all the problems.
Pathetic. And incredible.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:10 pmtripplemoron, always remember, 9/11 occurred and went unpunished with a reich-wing president and a reich-wing majority in the House and Senate.

July 15th, 2008 at 3:22 pmLove or hate him, President Bush did not prevent 9/11. Bush never even treated terrorism because he was always on vacation, and under his administration we saw again and again how al queda would wage deadly attacks on citizens world wide. Now we have Barrack Obama who wants to go back to treating terrorism seriously. We also have the democrat rhetoric regarding the war, which amounts to bringing our troops home. So, the ad is saying that if you want another 911, don’t vote democrat.
tripplemoron,
July 15th, 2008 at 3:22 pmThe majority of America hates him and following 9/11 herr dubyah did not effectively prevent another terrorist attack in our country. Clinton treated terrorism like a law enforcement issue and caught and tried the terrorists responsible for the first trade tower attacks. If only herr dubyah treated terrorism like a seriously and as a law enforcement, bin laden and those responsible for the anthrax attacks may have been caught. But, alas, that is not the case and those terrorists are free. Now we have McGrampa who wants continue with the failed policies of herr dubyah and allow bin laden to be free. We also have the reich-wing rhetoric regarding the war, which amounts to wasting American blood and treasure on Iraq....which has nothing to do with terrorism or 9/11. So, the ad is reminding everyone 9/11 occurred and went unpunished with a reich-wing president and a reich-wing majority in the House and Senate.

Who ignored warning after warning that terrorists were preparing to attack us using planes, scumbag?
Oh, yeah - A REPUBLICAN!!!
Who let Osama bin Laden go free, scumbag?
Oh, yeah - A REPUBLICAN!!!
You really are just too stupid to live.

July 15th, 2008 at 3:27 pmDon’t waste your time with TK the troll.
You’re arguing with a mental midget. She has the mental capacity of a ten year old, at best. The simpleton is incapable of formulating a coherent response. She's limited to regurgitating old, worn-out repugnican talking points. There’s nothing of any substance in her posts.
Ignore her. She'll go away.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:27 pmAnother of the pathetic cries from a piss soaked troll. Bush has kept us safe for the last seven years.
If you are worried that the bad guys are going to break into your hose and steal your brand new flat screen TV the best way to thwart them would be to put the TV out on the lawn.
And that's exactly what the Chimpfck did, took our greatest asset, our soldiers and put them in the terrorists neighborhood for them to kill. Now they don't have to fly all the way to America to kill Americans, Bush made it easy for them.
9/11 disn't have to happen, Bush was warned and allowed it to happen. And his reponse to the attack? Go after the guy who shot at his Daddy, but not the guy who bombed us. Bush and the 'roid licking sycophants aren't worth the powder to blow them up.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:30 pminvite them to stay and encourage then to look more and more foolish... Two sides, same coin...
July 15th, 2008 at 3:31 pmAlso, the baptists wield a heavy political hand down here, not much “compassion” amongst these christians but a great deal of fear mongering.
The more religious they are, the less intelligent they tend to be. I guess that's because the more you immerse yourself in your religious beliefs, the less you are called upon to exercise your critical thinking skills.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:32 pmTK - obviously you're too much of a single celled moron to understand that we've sown the dragon's teeth: where we kill ONE Al Qaeda member, TEN more spring up to take his place.

dbadass,
July 15th, 2008 at 3:52 pmYes, since the response to 911, the military has increased Al Queda both in terms of them killing or capturing most of their perceived enemies and greatly increased their ability to traffic money through opiate fields, for terrorism. This is not an opinion, its just what’s happened.

Well, that's pretty weird, because the Administration and the wingnuts have been telling us for years that "Al Qaeda" is all over Iraq. Of course, that isn't true, but it's also not true that Al Qaeda has been "decimated."
I notice that you have completely failed to respond to the fact that it was BUSH, not Clinton, that cause the failure to capture or kill Bin Laden at Tora Bora.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:53 pmBack on subject, I sent the 'gentleman' who took out the ad the following Email. Its nowhere near as effective as Bkarasek's (Tip of the hat to you, Sir), but...
Dear Sir,
I just saw a news report about a billboard in Orange County Florida. It bears an image of the World Trade Center burning, along with the words "Please don't vote for a Democrat". Sir, I work six blocks north of the World Trade Center site. On September 11th, 2001 I was in the street watching 1 World Trade burn. A few moments later I saw, I, sir, physically saw 2 World Trade explode. Later on that day I saw 2 World Trade collapse. That happened 6 blocks from where I work. I can still see the hole in the sky where the towers should be.
That was an attack on the entire country. It's beneath contempt to politicize it. I sincerely hope the news stories are wrong. If they aren't, you have my profoundest sympathy as you, sir. You are attempting to use the deaths of over 3000 people and a tragedy that affected the entire world, as fodder for partisan politics. If you have any sense of decency, please take it down. If you consider yourself a patriotic American, you'll replace it with a public apology.
Impeach Pelosi, Cheney and Bush and Save the Constitution!

TrippleKick, why just go back 8 years. Let's go back a few more years. If the Reagan bunch (who happened to be neocons, who happen to have had a thing or two to say about what has happened in the last 8 years) hadn't trained Osama and armed him then Al Qaeda wouldn't have existed and the Neocon's would have needed a different excuse to occupy Iraq and steal their resources.
BTW, What happened to all the intel Clinton left for Bush? Oh yeah, they fired the guy that was passing on this info.

TrippleSh!tHead, please go away. I mean really, just go away. Why bother staying at a place where you are unwanted, unneeded, unnecessary, unhelpful, unaware, and an unmitigated disaster. Go where you might be wanted; God only knows where that might be.
July 15th, 2008 at 4:17 pmAh, but, gummitch, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi wasn't "al Qaida", but "al Qaida in Iraq", a separate organization that decided it wanted to associate itself with bin Laden's "al Qaida". He had nothing to do with 9/11.
And you're right to point out that they have no excuse for letting bin Laden go at Tora Bora. Rather than finish the job ourselves, we bribed some people to go get bin Laden for us. But as anyone with an IQ in the three-digit range knows, someone who can be bribed can be bribed again. So bin laden bribed them to let him go. And he's been roaming around free ever since (assuming his daily dialysis hasn't proven impossible to administer from within a cave.) This happened under the command of C-in-C Bush.
July 15th, 2008 at 4:19 pmAs it stands more than 3/4 of Al Queda has been captured or killed since 911.
Can you prove that? Or are you just repeating what the Bush Administration and Fox News Channel say?
And when I say "prove", I mean by a credible source, which would mean someone other than the Bush Administration or Fox News Channel.
July 15th, 2008 at 4:22 pmThe irony is that a republican was at the helm when that happened.

Or McLunatic, who thinks he should be "president" because he was a POW in Vietnam.

July 15th, 2008 at 4:50 pmOn the morning of 9/11/01, four airliners were hijacked at the same time.
July 15th, 2008 at 4:52 pmIf NORAD had been on alert--if George W. Bush had done only that, each and every one of those planes would have had interceptor escort long before they reached either New York or Washington airspace.
No advanced warning would have been necessary--just NORAD scrambling when it was confirmed that an unprecedented four airplanes had been hijacked.
But we were not on alert, not even after the PDB.
It would have been a tragedy regardless--the terrorists would probably have crashed all four planes--probably into housing developments or shopping centers somewhere.
But not into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
We'd be mourning hundreds of people, not thousands. And whole companies of firemen would not be dead.
Of course, the Republicans would still be blaming it on Clinton, and we'd still be in Iraq.
Funny how Bush and Cheney REFUSED TO testify UNDER OATH to the 9/11 Commission, which they resisted forming for over a YEAR.
In other words, REFUSED to SWEAR TO GOD to tell the TRUTH.
They are TRAITORs to the USA, as this is just ONE of their TREASONOUS acts.

Ha, ha, ha.
July 15th, 2008 at 8:16 pmLets not forget W spent 40% of his time on vacation leading up to 9/11. That's while they dumped the bi-partisan commission report (Hart-Rudman) on dealing with terrorism. They also took subs off-station tasked with tracking bin Laden. Obviously, they too busy finalizing their plans on a hostile takeover bid of Iraq (see Cheney secret energy meetings). Did you ever hear the word 'al Qaeda' mentioned by this administration before 9/11? Neither did I.
If I didn't know better, I'd think they let it happen on purpose to get their PNAC plan underway.
July 15th, 2008 at 9:14 pm"...the PNAC blueprint of September 2000 states that the process of transforming the US into "tomorrow's dominant force" is likely to be a long one in the absence of "some catastrophic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor". July 16th, 2008 at 3:37 pmJonsom's back!
Jonsom... have any compelling reason that we should trust the 'experts' you put forward over Richard Clarke?
Considering Richard Clarke was who was appointed by Reagan (patron saint of all things rightwing) served with distinction through four presidents and is considered one of the premier experts on al Qaeda and counter-terrorism in general and was actually in the White House running the command center on 9/11 and you have put forward a reporter, a lawyer and yourself as experts... I ask again, why should we trust your experts over Richard Clarke?
Actually it's not 'nuff said.
BTW- it's funny how all the real 'knowing and wise' trolls disappear until they think no one will double check their posts and then they answer all the questions with one-liners... that's how you roll? 'nuff said.

July 16th, 2008 at 5:49 pmHmmmm, so the fuselage at Salman Pak was what?…..
"After the war, U.S. officials determined that a facility in Salman Pak was used to train Iraqi anti-terrorist commandos."[Seattle Times, 1 November 2005, p. A5].
So do you actually believe that the split second a new president comes in that everything that happens, started happeninig on his watch?
How long until an incoming President should have a meeting to discuss counter-terrorism? Ballpark figure is fine, since you are obsessed with playing with your own ballpark.
Oh, the irony: Imagine the well-orchestrated indignation that would erupt from the right-wing noise machine if a Democrat put up a sign with the same graphic but a more truthful catchphrase: "Don't let the Republicans let this happen to us again."

July 16th, 2008 at 9:04 pm+1 relatively inappropriate 911 image
+1 obviously inaccurate statement about said tragedy
+1 website at the bottom of the advertisement
= lots and lots of hits on this hick's website, which is why he advertised in the first place. Not cuz he cares, or wants to make a point. because he makes money on each and every one of us who go to his site and send him hatemail. So plz, plz do not follow any of the links lol
Alright, well I really hate to burst all your Liberal bubbles, but if you really think about it 9/11 pretty much happened as a result of the democratic party being in office the previous years... It's known very well that a president has no effect his first year in office and that was Bush's, and then on top of that it was not the Republicans that funneled all the money out of our intelligence agencies, in fact it was quite the opposite *gasp* the democratic party. I do not condone this billboard, but some of your comments are more than just remotely stupid
July 17th, 2008 at 9:36 amAlright, well I hate to bust your bubble zoober, but Richard Clarke says that Clinton was better on terrorism than he could have hoped and that Bush dismissed him and avoided him for months and then went after the wrong enemy (Saddam)
Richard Clarke is a well-respected expert on counter-terrorism who served in four White Houses and was appointed by Reagan...
July 17th, 2008 at 3:24 pmWhat are your counter-terrorism credentials, zoob?
The guy who purchased this ad is a known racist. Here are 2 of his posts on racist website Vanguard News Network:

July 18th, 2008 at 9:31 pmBelac, Went after the wrong enemy? We didn't even remotely look into Sadam until what 2+ years down the line from any of these events? How does that have any relevance to the argument at hand. "We went after the wrong enemy" lol, you're a joke, and apparently this guy is too if he believes that. There's no one enemy to go after to stop the terrorism from happening. Whatever steps we take towards stopping terrorism is a step in the right direction and showing that we can completely upheave a country under the reign of a dictator leader is a much more powerful statement than finding one guy in the middle of a mountain. There's no short and simple answer, which is what most people are looking for, because today we're obsessed with instant gratification. I'm not saying that there weren't other motives behind going into Iraq but there are still some rays of light that came out of it.
July 21st, 2008 at 9:16 amit's really not about voting Democrat or Republican. it's about WHO IS THE BETTER MAN, at this particular time in history to represent us? who is going to help America to reverse it's UNSEEMLY REPUTATION in the eyes of the rest of world?
anyway, this guy is doing nothing but publicizing his own stupidity and shallow thinking. which in the end, will only have both republicans and democrates shaking their heads in disgust. he just hurt his own party.
