The Presidential Memorial Commission of San Francisco has just recently submitted signatures to city election officials “hoping to place on the ballot an initiative that would rechristen the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant as the George W. Bush Sewage Plant.” SFist reports that the initiative has now officially qualified. From the Commission’s press release:
Officials at the Department of Elections announced today that the citizens’ initiative to rename the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant the George W. Bush Sewage Plant has qualified for the November 4th San Francisco ballot. Voters will decide on the measure in the general election alongside the presidential election, numerous statewide initiatives, and an expected 20 to 30 local measures.

I really would be opposed to naming anything for w. In this case, it is a treatment plant that takes stuff that is waste and sewage and makes it better. That is just opposite to the process that w does; he takes good stuff and turns it into waste and sewage.

July 18th, 2008 at 9:54 am“George W. Bush Sewage Treatment Plant”
I like this a lot! The name is completely appropriate.
July 18th, 2008 at 9:55 amGDumbya’s legacy! Hilarious!
Let’s just hope that the facility doesn’t take on the capabilities of its namesake or the good people of San Francisco will need to buy lots of bottled water.
July 18th, 2008 at 9:59 amTexas approves major new wind power project
July 18th, 2008 at 9:59 amThe Lone Star State gave preliminary approval Thursday to a $4.9 billion plan to build new transmission lines to carry wind-generated electricity from gusty West Texas to urban areas like Dallas.
The Texas Public Utility Commission, not to be outdone by San Francisco, plans to name the massive wind farm, The Bush Blows Project.
“George W. Bush Sewage Treatment Plant”
July 18th, 2008 at 10:00 amActually, this would be a good name for his “libary”…
I want Turdblossom inspecting each and every turd going through…
July 18th, 2008 at 10:00 amI don`t like the thought of putting the SHRUBS name anywhere except on the back of an orange prison jumpsuit……….

Speaking of mature, Bush never got past the 12yr old stage.
However, speaking of manure describes Bush very well.

Yeah , he needs to be much more “adult acting” like your retarded simian hero fouling the Oval Office , who recently departed the G8 Summit with the parting words : “Goodbye from the world’s biggest polluter.”
July 18th, 2008 at 10:13 amPlanet of the Apes was the forerunner to the Bush administration.
July 18th, 2008 at 10:15 amThe Tracytwat can always be counted on to rise to her God’s defense.
He is a loser sweetie, just like you, and 75% of Americans despise and loath the petty punk. It is befitting to associate sewage with Bush, although the shit he spews is untreated filth.

Absolutely frickin hilarious :)~
July 18th, 2008 at 10:20 amYou mean like a bush library? Or renaming JFK Space Center(Cape Kennedy) back to it’s original of Cape Canaveral. I mean really, who did push us into space?
If I were you I wouldn’t come here talking about
being immature.
July 18th, 2008 at 10:22 amI would go to San Francisco just to take a crap.
July 18th, 2008 at 10:24 amStanding on the catwalk looking at the “intake” and pointing: look there’s WMD, and that..isn’t that a Rove. I think it will draw millions.
July 18th, 2008 at 10:30 amThis ballot initiative is an insult to the sh*t.
July 18th, 2008 at 10:35 amAll I want is to have an unmarked grave for all of BushCo so we can forget them and move forward. If anything would be marked, it would be defiled or destroyed anyway. And Darth’s grave would be dug up so they could drive a wooden stake through his cold heart, just to make sure.
July 18th, 2008 at 10:35 amThis will be the only election that Dubya will ‘win’ in SF in his entire worthless life. I hope he celebrates with a glass of GWBSTP ‘08.

July 18th, 2008 at 10:42 amMight you want to be a little more specific or are you just throwing this out there for other reasons? I think I know…

Kind of like the King’s Taster in days of yore?
July 18th, 2008 at 10:43 amNow you’re certainly acting mature.
July 18th, 2008 at 10:49 amWell, actually a Sewage Plant does something usefull, and Bush is not. Maybe just rename sewage to Bush, like, “I just took a huge Bush.”
July 18th, 2008 at 10:49 amThe George Bush Offal Orifice Expressway
July 18th, 2008 at 10:50 amI’m sure Tracy never lived in San Francisco, one of the most beautiful places on earth. Thank heavens for Gavin Newsom, he’s been really helpful to the gay community there. As for the treatment plant, I don’t think I EVER want to see the words George W. Bush applied to anything. Let’s make him a non-person - erase him Soviet style, I’m with the peeps that say a sewage plant actually does things that are GOOD for the community, why muck it up with the name of someone who can’t do ANYTHING right?
July 18th, 2008 at 10:56 amThe George W. Bush Sewage Treatment Plant
Thusly named in recognition of his ability to keep the sh*t flowing downhill.
July 18th, 2008 at 11:14 amI find it hard to believe that San Franciscans even let this thing get this far along. I guess some closet republican is shoving this down their throats.
It will be vandalized and it will be the butt of countless jokes.
This doesn’t fit the San Francisco mentality.
God how I wish I could shake off this 1984 Orwellian malais
July 18th, 2008 at 11:29 amThis is an insult to shit everywhere.

Jesus fu(king Christ ; what the hell is wrong with you Chimpy leg humpers ?
You try to use 1 isolated incident as a reason to post derogatory comments about a Dem , yet you MORONS try to condemn us for putting up with 8 years of non-stop petulance and childishness from the documented worst president in US history who has NOT HAD EVEN ONE SUCCESS to point to , and for hammering the imbecile for it.
You are all insane and need to be psychologically evaluated…….
July 18th, 2008 at 11:39 amThis gives sewage a bad name.
July 18th, 2008 at 11:43 amHilarious comments, except for Tracy’s who continues to prove that Cons have ZERO sense of humor and do not get satire or sarcasm.
I used to live near that sewage plant. From the way it smells some days, and turns the ocean foam along Ocean Beach a sickly shade of turd brown, I think the Bush name is very fitting…
July 18th, 2008 at 12:38 pmAnd this is supposed to be fair to sewage plants everywhere?
July 18th, 2008 at 2:42 pmNext time I am in San Francisco, I will be sure to leave a contribution to W’s memory.
July 18th, 2008 at 3:13 pm“The George W. Bush Sewage Plant - doing a $hitty job, by design”
July 18th, 2008 at 3:49 pmI propose that the name of the plant should be printed
in two lines. Like this :
GEORGE W. BUSH SEWAGE
TREATMENT PLANT
July 18th, 2008 at 7:31 pmFrom butthead to butts.
July 18th, 2008 at 8:26 pmI’ve got an idea, how about we name it the
“We Elected George W. Bush Sewage Treatment Plant”
That’ll make us look just as stupid as we are.
July 19th, 2008 at 1:22 pmI’m a third generation native San Francisan in exile in the Washington, DC area for the past 20 years. But I used to live out in the Sunset District in San Francisco, not far from this sewage plant. If I were still living out there I’d vote against this measure, because the last thing in the world I’d want would be to have his name out there, on a sign, for decades to come. I work very near the US Capitol and I’m looking forward to going outside on January 20 to watch the helicopter take off, bearing Bush away from Washington, away from the White House, and back to his ranch forever. Just go, please, just go, and let us never hear from or about you again.
July 19th, 2008 at 8:39 pmI live in Sacramento now, but last time I visited SF, the whole place pretty much reminded me of a treatment plant. Garbage, filth everywhere, especially at high profile places. When I was a kid, San Francisco was magical. Now it’s the punch line to any number of jokes.
July 21st, 2008 at 3:18 pmName your treatment plant anything you want. My strong sense is that the world isn’t paying that much attention anymore.
I am pretty sure that pardons are only effective for crimes against the United States, not for crimes against humanity, i.e. WAR CRIMES.
July 22nd, 2008 at 3:44 amThis is Great. Finally Little G. will lend his name to something useful. What a redemption. I hope he will turn up for the naming. Now we need to talk about the George W. Bush Library. I am willing to donate the Tuffshed. Who will bring the cartoons?
