Obviously this is a liberal site so that is likely the answer to my question. I am not a long time listener to Glen Beck. But I do find him very interesting and have great ideas. My question is how can so many of you have (people posting on this site) have such strong views against him? I would say its safe to say that you haven’t listened to the show. And no one is disputing anything he specifically said (other than some short quotes taken out of context). Oh and in response to a post from JaneaneTheAcerbicGoblin, he may have low ratings from CNN but thats because tv media is so liberal. He is the third most listen to radio broadcaster in the World. Obviously he is well liked by many people. Just keep in mind its ha=rd to criticize when you dont listen to the message.

This guy, Beck, couldn’t seem like more of a nazi, even if he was wearing jackboots and an armband. We should just give Glenn his dream…make him the king of all the Mormon FLDS clans, find a nice uninhabited island to put them all on and then when Obama is sworn-in as president, send the SEALS in to put Glennsie on the return flight for the Gitmo detainees. Glenn Beck does not like people to know he is a devout Mormon. He spends some time fund raising for the Mormon religion. Maybe its time to ask Glenn how his Mormon upbringing affected his political views. I’m thinking this fact would reduce his popularity among right wing ‘christians’

Beck was fired from radio for offensive, bigoted, language. When Headline News announced that he was getting a show, I wrote to them to tell them I would never watch Headline News again. I haven’t and I will never watch this moron, no matter how they spread his bigotry around. We already have FAUX and we do not need more haters on the air.

I use to read and watch the ‘news’ when it was reported with regard to factual information. Now I try to find the facts where I can, on the net or between the lines. The reporters are either lying or stupid…or stupid liars. I find no satisfaction in news that supports my ideal if there are no facts to back up the story. The Right never reports the truth just their fascist ideology.

Waaay back when I was about 10 helping my mum with the shopping we bought some packaged cherry pies as a convenient dessert treat (instead of mum having to rustle up pears in cream cheese with grape-halves and scratch-made chocolate sause doused with Kirsch, or Bananas Malayan or some-such).

The cherry pies tasted like “old bus tickets” ( my mother’s exact words) and when we examined the actual ingredients on the box we discovered that the cherry component was actually “cherry-shaped pieces”—but of what, we were given no clue.

As this is such an abiding memory of mine I think I can reasonably identify that experience as the moment when I embraced healthy cynicism.

Your comment just reminded me of that 40-ish year-old memory!
