Is TP also suggesting that security would have continued to improve without the “surge” even after the “Anbar Awakening”? Now that is false.

Do you understand the practical implications of the ‘awakening’? it pretty much took the heart of the insurgency, the disgruntled mainstream Sunni, and put them on our team. that’s a big deal. do you think the US military would be arming the same guys who were shooting them weeks before if they weren’t sure that they’d get a lasting relationship? they didn’t know the surge was coming when that started. the awakening then would account for the bulk of the drop in violence. but how then is the surge even relevant to it? how did the surge keep it going, since you’re so sure it did?

also i like how the only ‘experts’ you’re willing to cite are the people who promoted the surge in the first place.

…and can everyone stop with lame WWII comparisons, i’m looking at you Mr. Scarborough. anyone who finds it necessary to cut and paste Munich, Pearl Harbor, and D-Day onto every historical event ever since is a half-wit.

Yeah, and in Finland. Check out Winter War as an exercise in “pre-emptive warfare” and its consequenses.

Scarborough has clearly a very limited understanding of history and the WWII. In addition it seems that this limited understanding is tainted by a ultra-nationalist view.

He comes across as a very poor loser.

Well, the association of Cheetos and pr0n is somewhat old. Some years ago (4, 5?) I was told a joke about Cheetos, watching dirty video movies, and a visit to the doctor, in Spanish, but probably the “concept” is universal, and there existed an equivalent joke in English by the time.
