Fox’s Kilmeade confuses bin Laden and Obama twice in five seconds.»

On today’s Brian and the Judge radio show, Fox News host Brian Kilmeade twice confused Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) and Osama bin Laden — within five seconds. Even after catching himself, Kilmeade immediately makes the mistake again:

KILMEADE: Michael, first off, is Bin Laden — excuse me, uh, is Osama — uh, is Barack Obama right when he says the central location of the war on terror is in Afghanistan?

    Oops. Innocent mistake.

  2. Guido the Loving OBGYN Says:

Juan Williams with NPR has already clarified that that is not racist behavior.

  4. Zooey Says:

    That was not a mistake.

Any reputable media outlet would fire him immediately — which means he has job security in this country.

  6. Guido the Loving OBGYN Says:

That Kilmeade looks like a cocaine addict in the mornings. There’s a crazy person behind those eyes.

  9. upside99 Says:

Kilmeade was a lousy sports reporter before he was a Faux BushCo arse-kisser.

Where does Faux find these 3rd rate people anyway? BVut I guess when your demo audience has a 2 digit IQ, it doesn’t matter.

  10. Doc Rock Says:

    Doubt that was a mistake~!

  11. dixie blood Says:

Brian Kilmeade is pure fascist, corporate pork!

  12. AMcG773 Says:

This Obama - Osama thing is getting really old.

  13. Bob Says:

I guess the silver lining could be that ‘ol been forgotten’ gets a mention. It makes it all the more curious that one could slip up that way.

  14. Nashoba nowa Says:

Confused, a mistake - my a__, Kilmeade and FOX, yeah on purpose ———–

  15. dlet Says:

So we have Katie Couric saying that she believes that the old media is dead and a week later she cuts out clips of an interview and puts in false statements to a question she asked…..then we have the constant pandering of McInsane…..he says the craziest shite i ever heard and its just a drop in the media bucket. Now we have the constant Osama…Obama mix up…if you are that stupid to mix up a first name and last name in that business you should not have a camera in your face.

  16. Zooey Says:

Where is Osama bin Laden anyway?

  17. bob hussein lablah Says:

This reminds me of a funny story….just the other day I was sitting at the breakfast table with my wife. I meant to say, “Honey, could you please pass the butter?” But instead I accidentally said, “May Satan swallow Brian Kilmeade sideways and choke on his miniscule pecker!”

    Something like that?

  18. dlet Says:

Wait a sec…doesn’t McCain mean “son of Cain”? That means he has a history of sibling murders in his family…..we should be afraid and spread this truthiness to all the media.

  19. MapleStreet Says:

Somehow, I have to ask if this were truly a mistake (rather than being intentional).

desperate MSM at it again… that was no mistake. And what is up with cnn doing a series on What it means to be black in America. While listening to NOVA M I heard the black community are not happy with these stories and hold this suspect against Obama.
    What’s next MSM?

  23. TXProgressive Says:

Considering the source, his comments don’t surprise me a bit. What does surprise me is that this nitwit has a national program, and that there are actually people in this country ignorant enough to listen to him.

  24. galmud Says:

    “Bin Laden”? Thats intentional

  25. curious Says:

Grow up!! Do you really think the mistake with the names was an accident? Fox and the right have been trying for months to keep the names linked. They continually use Obama’s middle name to link it to Saddam in Iraq.

Fox is traditionally stupid. They never fact check and never let truth get in the way of being FAIR AND BALANCED. Even having said this, I still think it was a deliberate.

If the Reich says something enough times people will begin to believe it,I see this as more fear mongering in a more subtle way.I see a lot of 1930`s Germany in these parallels with Fascism or am I just paranoid………..

Great tool…. use it”

    _______

Glad I’m not the only one who found that series completely bizarre. I’m surprised it’s not hosted by Marty Stouffer or the reanimated corpse of Steve Irwin or something. “Today we’ll be exploring the grooming and mating rituals of that most mysterious of species: the North American Negro. Crikey!”

Seriously, though. Covering “black people” shouldn’t be a special investigative feature. If our mainstream media is not covering the issues and perspectives affecting minority groups on a daily basis, they’re not doing their job.

  29. galmud Says:

Strange how so many allegedly intelligent well educated journalists, commentators, politicians can keep mixing up “Obama” with “Osama”. Ive never heard anyone else make that mistake. Imagine if journalists began mixing up “McVeigh” with “McCain”

Also AFAIK the name doesnt even rhyme with Obama because “Osama” is not an accurate transliteration from Arabic. Its “Usamah” or “Usama” not “Osama”

  30. citizen_pain Says:

One of the most important things the incoming administration can do to begin the cleansing of the airwaves from the right wing hatred machine that has ruled for at least 15 years is to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine.
This would help provide a balance and alternative to the likes of Limpballs, Savage, the fools mentioned in this post, and the rest.
These right wing blowhards have nothing to offer but divisive rhetoric, and serve no real purpose other than to belittle and ridicule opposing opinions. The only thing they accomplish is the polarization of the populace, and they poison the atmosphere to a degree where any meaningful discussions about topics important to the majority of the people are impossible.
Funny thing is, there had been talk about reinstating the Fairness Doctrine and the right wing just about stroked out. They know that if there is a balanced competition of ideas on the airwaves, they lose every time.

  31. Bilbo Hussein Baggins Says:

It’s not an innocent mistake when he calls Obama “Bin Laden”. I can see confusing Osama with Obama but not Obama with “Bin Laden”.

    Effin’ stupid POS.

  34. adrian Says:

Confusing the name “Bin Laden” and “Obama”? It’s like confusing a cat with a dog. It’s totally intentional. And I really don’t get why they’d want to attack Obama this way, I mean, isn’t it like grade school kids name-calling each other?
